Tuesday they were here early AM. Found kinks in line, can't run the trench-less. Worse case scenario. By the afternoon, water back on. The digging only left a small imprint on the lawn. Received our bill a few days later. Under budgeted quote. (Slightly). But under quote after worse case scenario = Priceless. Great job and Thsn you! As you can imagine it was a mess with sewage on the floor and seeping into our neighbor's house, not to mention expensive. Pray to the plumbing Gods that this never happens to you! Many years ago I worked for a plumbing company so I knew right off the bat this would be thousands to repair. With my go to (Ranck's Plumbing) no longer in business I had no choice but to seek a new plumber, one that had a sewer camera, and could come right away. An online search of plumbers with cameras yielded very few results in my area. I called a few and left messages. Ober's was a company I found on Yelp for having good & honest reviews and they were local which was a huge plus. I took a chance on them having a camera and was thankful that they did. Jerry, the owner was awesome! He even came to my house for a free consult to make sure he could run the camera before he sent his crew over - that was much appreciated! My house is almost 100 years old so there was some fear of the unknown. At the free consult he spent a considerable amount of time exploring possible scenarios and discussing options. Jerry is very hands on and explains things in a way you can understand without judgement. Once he determined the camera could be ran I provided the key and returned to work. Jerry and his crew did the rest. Within hours I had a verbal quote. Was it expensive? Yes, spending a few thousand for something you can't see is alot of money, but sewer is a necessity. Although I don't have anything to compare it to other than my experience in this field many years ago I do feel his price was fair and most likely considerably less than what larger firms would charge for the same scale of work. I especially liked that Jerry understood that I wanted the least invasive option available and was sensitive to my request not rip out my newer kitchen to gain access. To save money hubby did some of the demo with Jerry's instruction. Since we're talking about a considerable amount of money I didn't feel comfortable with a verbal quote alone. However once I requested one in writing Jerry provided one the next day in great detail. The work took a few days to complete, and a few days till they could start due to some issues with our insurance adjuster. During that time-period Jerry was always accessible, answered all of our questions, and took our many phone calls without issue or attitude. Once the insurance adjuster was out of the way he was prompt to get us on the schedule so we could have use of our facilities again. The work was completed as promised and my house was left in satisfactory condition. While they did comply with my request to lock up daily, a light was left on the first day. So why 4 stars instead of 5? I always feel a little uncomfortable asking for something that I feel should be standard (in this case a written quote). They do things old school so they couldn't email the quote but were able to fax it. The price of running the camera is expensive and it's standard procedure to record the process to show the homeowner exactly what the problem is. While they do have the camera they don't use the video and didn't relay this to me until I asked. While I'm so thankful for Jerry and his team and to have this experience in my rear view window I would/will use Ober's again and would happily recommend him to anyone seeking an honest, fair, local, knowledge plumber.

We changed the work to just do the reinstallation and new installation work and was told he would charge labor and material but did not give an estimate. The bill came to $497, almost as much as the original proposal which required two visits and more work - who would have thought that would be the case? - $281 (included travel time at the same rate as labor) for labor and $216 for parts. It appears from online searches that the parts are up to two times what the price is in a plumbing supply store. We have never used a plumber before as I always did my own work and this bill was sticker shock! Guess we should have insisted on a new estimate, definitely will if we need a different plumber in the future. No issues with the quality, Roy did the work and he did a great job.

He call hours later and told my mother that my father could turn the water softener back on because it was apparently working. He pulled the water and dryer out from the wall.
