So I got pissed off got in my car and drove down here and got the damn thing myself. If you guys can't do your job then I suppose I'll do it for you. Total piss poor customer service and the worst experience I have ever had from a lumber yard. I am truly disappointed because I figured this would be a great new source as a lumber yard but I will never use one of these locations ever again regardless of the town they are in they have permanently lost me as a customer and they can honestly go screw. When I called in initially to be like hey you know my time frame is almost up where's my delivery the woman who answered the phone acted like I was greatly inconveniencing her on a 2 minute and 30 second call. We have never renovated a kitchen or bathroom, so we definitely need an education. Our contractor recommended Select Stone, and specifically Marcelo Araujo. From start to finish, Marcelo and his very tight team took great care of us (and we probably drove them crazy with a million questions). Marcelo: -Got us in for a consultation quickly. -Gave us a LOT of time in the warehouse and educated us on the differences between and individual properties of marble, granite, and quartz (and how each react to heat, chemicals, oils, etc). -Explained that the stone would be sealed at the factory, and told us specifically which sealer to use once the stone was installed and how often to repeat. -Asked us a lot of questions about how the kitchen and bathroom would be used. -Explained the pluses and minuses of regular height and full-height back splashes. -Explained the pluses and minuses of different types of edge/corner shapes -Helped us select a granite that compliments the cabinets and paint color perfectly. -Explained the challenges of working with old homes where every wall was not replaced and if the walls were not completely flat what would and would not work. -Explained that a lot more information would come out of the visit to measure the kitchen and bathroom. -Explained the pluses and minuses of stainless steel and ceramic sink bowls. -Gave us guidance on what types of faucets we should/should not purchase. The measuring team were also fantastic. Thorough, informative, and incredibly helpful explaining the challenges they discovered with the wall behind the stove and the bathroom walls. A full-height back splash would not work behind the stove because the wall was not flat enough. The bathroom walls were also not flat, and in some places there were going to be gaps too big to fill with caulk (and look good). Marcelo was always available for our many questions. If he wasn't in the office, everyone we spoke to seemed to know everything about the project, and were always helpful. The installation went perfectly! We will absolutely use Select Stone and Marcelo in the future, and have recommended them to friends. The only bad part? Our new tenant gets to enjoy all of this, not us!

I explained that I was looking for something that was custom made to fit the dimensions and not look like an "after market" product and she sounded beyond confused. Any business that wants to send you to Home Depot when they can make money in their own field is one I will stay clear of.

In response, the person on the line told me to "watch your language"--even though I had not used inappropriate language, just expressed frustration. I genuinely cannot recall being treated with such disrespect by a reputable company. To make matters worse, I've already been charged, despite being told there's a waiting list. Each time he called he was assured the correct trailer would be ready for him. Sadly, each time he thought that he was all set he would find out that the wrong trailer type was reserved for him. They would reserve a tilt deck trailer rather than the hydraulic liftgate that lowers level to the ground for moving heavy large items. He somehow (thank goodness) found Kelly of the Haverhill, MA location who was not only able to get the correct trailer but took extra time confirming that it was in fact the correct one and she apologized for everything he went through. He did have to go to the Braintree location which was a far drive but at least he had the correct trailer. Kelly is A++++ Justina at the Braintree location was very nice and so helpful when he picked it up. He was able to return it to the Haverhill location which was much closer for him.

It's a small kitchen and should have taken no more than 2-3 weeks of work. Not including the wait for new cabinets. He worked for 4 months, draging the project out until we fired him. In all that time he removed the cabinets and drywall put up new drywall, and painted one coat. There were days he worked just a few hours. He does not have a crew, but seems to hire young kids, day laborers. One damaged our stove during the demolition. He used so many screws to put up the new drywall that the wall looked like it was riddled with a machine gun. Sometimes he would not show up for days with no explanation or a call.. He also took a week off for vacation. There are many more details of our dissatisfaction, but suffice it to say, I can not recommend him for even a small project.
