I waited 20 minutes on a line with 6 customers (and 2 cashiers) while there were several employees moving in a Brownian Motion pattern. Giant confirmed that in no circumstances should I be charged an assembly fee. Joel spoke to me on the phone and tried to trick me into thinking that I had somehow agreed to potential fees on the Giant website, which I have since gone back and confirmed was not true. Honestly really disappointing and frustrating. The interaction felt like I was dealing with a scammer. Luckily, I was able to move my purchase to another shop.

I was told the labor cost, the price of the new wheel, and rim tape. I have never heard of "non-inventory costs". It was explained as "talc for the rim, use of rags, and other non inventory items" -at least that's what I thought I heard when I asked what it was. That's a lot of powder and rags. Maybe it includes pumping my tire up? Which other bike shops do this?
