Avoid this place as if it were the bubonic plague. My dog is older and has been to numerous groomers without a problem. This is the ONLY place where he came out trembling, skittish, and noticeably stressed. Upon closer inspection they cut his hair to close to his skin on his underbelly which left it raw and he was limping. He was TRAUMATIZED. He wouldn't eat, leave his bed, or even sleep for the next couple of days so I brought him to the vet who said that the groomers probably handled him a bit roughly and he must have pulled a muscle. It was by far the worst grooming experience. If you're looking for a place to groom your dog, PetSmart is a great place. You'll be paying around the same price, but you'll have amazing service. read more

I took my Shih Tzu there because I've seen good reviews of the place. The owner seemed interested in understanding how my dog needed to look, she even texted to her phone a picture after his last grooming I showed her, I also showed her all the tangle hair he had. Then when I went to pick him up a completely shaved dog comes out and I asked the employer why did you cut his hair like that? Her response was he had tangles and it would have been difficult to dissolve them, so I couldn't do it as in the picture but like this. I replied why did nobody call me to ask for my permission, this is not acceptable. He had a few tangles which are always dissolved where he usually goes to grooming, it just happen that I couldn't take him there that day because is far. His hair length was supposed to be cut in about half to about 1 inch in length, well they got rid of all his hair except in the face. Even his tail was cut and actually unevenly cut. He looks like a rat now. I'm so upset. The owner is nice but the employees are clearly lazy and don't know what the heck they're doing!!! Don't take your dog there to grooming! read more

Kool & Kute - Pet Groomers Near Me - Miami, Florida

My review will have to be a bit one sided as it was the first time I took my Yorkie puppy to the groomers. I scoped out the place before I handed my little pup to these strange people. The place was clean and there were around 10 dogs there either being groomed or boarding. When i saw my Cookie......... Let's just say I was way disappointed. She was shaking (probably because someone just pried inside her butt). EEEWWWW! Normally, I bathe her once a week at home. Her hair is soft and luxurious afterwards. Here, the hair felt much coarser and did not shine at all. The smell of her was less than satisfying. And to top it off, I think they may have cut the body coat even though I told them not to. They did do a nice job of cleaning up her face area; now she can see! I'd like to find a place that specializes in Yorkies. read more

I must say I haven't had that terrible as an experience as some of the people who have come here but not much better either. I have a 9 year old yorkie that has a puppy cut (very simple right?) I asked them to trim the beard because it was extremely long and trip him up all around. Well I came back the beard still looked the same, so I very politely asked the owner to please cut more and asked her to please dry his mouth area since he gets a little drooly when he waits a while at the groomers. Well she didn't really mind the comment about cutting more of the beard but I could have sworn she roller her eyes when I asked her to dry his mouth area and took him quickly. Also this cut was already $50 did not even include a teeth brushing and they proceeded to charge me extra for mats, which I can tell you there was not much matting. Any way he also did not look so great after a $50 groom. Since I had the attitude I didn't feel like being there much longer so I left, upon inspection at home I found that they had not or barely touched the legs, the hair was much longer than the body (not an expert groomer but that doesn't seem right on a puppy cut). The little butt area was barely trimmed down or not at all. I don't know it just seems like a lot of money to have a half done job and get attitude by the owner! The only reason I give 2 stars is because the place was nice and clean, and when I called to complain about his long hair the next day a very nice lady Eliana, was very polite and told me to come right in and she would take care of it. She did a good job after that and seemed very kind. Unfortunately with an owner like that I don't see myself stopping by again. read more

So glad I found this little grooming salon. Excellent customer service. Great cut. My doggie and I are super pleased. Highly recommend

I am in love with Kool and Kute. Iliana is the best Groomer ever. I will give her like thousands of stars I don't think five stars are good enough to put in places how great she is. She knows exactly how to do her job, and treat my baby's like hers. The best place ever. you have to try it. read more

Great place and great people, very clean and nice, they use music to relax the pets. I took my pet for the first time and at the beginning is difficult cause is estrange people but it was the greatest experience for me and Lia (my pet) When I went to pick her she didn't want to go, so that's the best prove that they treat pets very good; they are very sweet and friendly with them so that's important. The price are very good for the service. Replaying to Davina, when you take your pet to have the grooming for the first times it's a little stressful for them so don't be so possessive and don't get disappointed because that's kind of normal on the other hand all that you say seems like a totally different place, are you sure that is the place that we all talk? PS THE BEST PLEACE ARROUND TO TAKE YOUR PET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I take my dog here but I don't absolutely LOVe the way they treat dogs. I wish they were more loving and sweet and less about business. Sadly this is one of the few places in brickell within walking distance. read more

Not so cool! We brought our cat to be groomed today: they bathed him, cut his nails but did not cut his hair, which was THE most important thing to be done and we clearly mentioned it when we brought him. On top of that, they left him in his box, where he peed while we came to pick him up. We were charged $70 for this poor service. Needless to say that we don't recommend this salon. We went there since it is closer to our new home but we will go back to our previous groomer, even it is further away. read more

Kool & Kute - Pet Groomers Near Me - Miami, Florida

I've been there a few times and was always satisfied. Never thought it was amazing but it was good for the price and convenience. Yesterday they completely butchered my dogs hair. The reason I'm writing this review isn't because they made a mistake but because how it was handled. It was a very obvious mistake. Most of his hair is about 1.5 inches and about 1/3 of his head had a patch that was shaved almost to zero. So they pass him off to me and I notice right away and complain. Zero apology! I had to push hard for her to admit that it was a mistake. I asked for some sort of discount on my next visit. No answer! So then I asked for the owner to please call me as I figured maybe she would be more accommodating considering they messed up and I already paid full price (and tipped) before I got my dog. Anyway, she didn't reach out. Just really annoyed at the customer service here. I understand mistakes happen in every business but I expect people to at least try to make it right. read more

In the course of doing business an issue will eventually arise, how these issues are handled is key to a healthy business. On 11/29/2018 in the early morning approximately 8 a.m. I dropped off my dog at Kool and Kute where he had a grooming appointment. I purchased a sanitary package for which i paid 58.50 total. At 1:30 p.m. I picked up my dog at Kool and Kute. Initially I was pleased with the results as he had a short trim which is what I had desired. As the day progressed I noticed my dog behaving strangely. My worry grew when I notice he would not sit and upon observing his anal glands noticed they seemed to be filled with some sort of puss or liquid. At this time I scheduled an appointment with his vet at a VCA branch. On 12/3 I took my dog to his appointment. His pain had only grown far worse. He was acting very strange, had no energy, and would not sit on any hard surfaces. The vet himself was surprised at how much pain my dog seemed to be in and thought the pain my even be internal. Subsequently he expressed he thoughts as to how the anal gland damage was grooming related. At the vet I had to spend 145.79 in services and medicine for my pet. The following day 12/4 I went back to Kool and Kute to meet with the owner who was not there. The next day 12/5 I was able to meet with her and explained to her the situation and the resolution I sought. I explained I was not accusing her or the business of foul play, I was simply noting my pet had been to her business and returned in a damaged condition which the vet had noted. She agreed to file an insurance claim and get back to me. She never got back to me. I returned 12/23 and the owner was not there. On 12/28 I was able to talk to her, she said since my dog had knots in his hair she was absolved from liability according to her insurance. An insurance which had never reached out to me despite me providing the business with far more than enough contact information. In addition she (the owner) admitted that the business had supposedly not expressed my dogs anal glands. A few issues with this notion (1) they had, as my vet could confirm (2) I had been charged for the expression of anal glands. Its actually included in all three packages they offer. I asked her to refund me the money for the service itself as they had failed to yield to complete service. My request was denied. She explained that as she had completed all other parts of the purchased package it was okay if she hadn't yielded the complete service. That was my last communication with the business. read more

This place couldn't be described any more perfectly as the reviews above. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE BUBONIC PLAGUE! Reasons: 1) my little dog, Rusty, would come home every other time with small "postillas" or "mini-scabs" on his skin by his stomach and top of the body. I should have put two and two together and realized it was this place!!! 2) their "receipts" for "gift cards" are unclear and completely one-sided! They do not provide a proper breakdown for pre-paid day care services. I try to be convenient and Pay $200 ahead of time but if you are not ON TOP of it, they will add things to the gift card you never even ordered! (which leads me to my next point on why I will never bring my kids here again) 3) on Thursday April 25th, 2013, I was "fortunate" enough to rescue a small 5 week old abandoned puppy from the Corporate Run, taking place in downtown Miami. The poor puppy spent the night in my home until we searched for the perfect new home. THe next morning, I ask Kool n kute owner if she knew anyone that would be interested in the dog to please let me know. I would like to give the puppy to a perfect home in which she will be loved forever. She said she knew of someone and she immediately grabbed the puppy from my arms and said I'll ask the person if she wants it and let you know. I responded, "perfect! i'll be back around 2pm to pickup the puppy because i'm taking her to get treated by a vet." (this DOES NOT CONFIRM that the person in which she speaks of will be taking in the puppy since I, nor my husband have spoken to this new "candidate") Turns out, throughout the day, over 1,000 people online have learned about this famous "corporate run abandoned puppy" and we end up conducting interviews throughout the day and confirming an extremely motivated couple ready to become the new owners of this puppy! What do I think? perfect! let me give the puppy to this couple! They were very eager and texted me ALL DAY LONG, "how is my baby girl?" "send me pictures" "i'll be there in 2 hours to pick her up..." very motivated messages confirmed that the "corporate run rescue pup" now is officially "TAKEN!" could you believe that the Kool Kute owner actually got upset and aggressive with me over the phone?? she was so angry over the phone that I "gave away the dog!!!" really? well, because she was so SPITEFUL, she ended up charging my husband the money for extra things that she originally was not going to charge me for and she added it to the "gift" card... ALL VERY SHADY STUFF. 4) the most ALARMING REASON why i would NEVER BRING MY KIDS BACK TO THIS LOCATION: On Friday April 26, 2013, at 9:00 am, I walk through the doors to drop off my two dogs again for day care... NO ONE WAS IN THE STORE!!! for almost 10 minutes, those poor dogs, were inside Kool n kute completely UNATTENDED! There were even TWO dogs strapped by the neck for grooming barking hysterically on the table and they were completely unattended! WHAT IF THESE DOGS decide to jump off the table? Their little necks will be snapped!!! THE OWNER LEFT THE SHOP AND ALL THE LITTLE FUR BABIES COMPLETELY UNATTENDED! THIS IS THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG WITH THIS COMPANY! The "supposed" owner was outside walking the dog and she finally walked back in front of the store, right on coral way, and said, "oh I had just stepped out for a quick second to walk the dog." (I FREAKED OUT IN SILENCE... I COULD NOT BELIEVE THAT SHE LEFT THE FRONT DOOR UNLOCKED AND LEFT THOSE BABIES INSIDE ALONE! she never even acknlowledged that she saw me initially walk through the door.. meaning, she wasn't alert on WHO were walking in and out of the shop, nor was she keeping track of the conditions inside the shop on the two strapped dogs on the grooming table. I FEEL LIKE ANYONE CAN WALK IN HERE AND STEAL A DOG OR A PRODUCT! 5) twice my dog almost ran out into the street because they are not aware the front door stays open after people leave their facility... That's crazy! Later, I learned that who I thought was the "owner" was not really the "owner". some lady came out from the back dressed as if she looked like she was a bum on the street with the dirtiest gloves in her hand and she came to tell us "off"... wow! she should have introduced herself, apologized for her "appearance" and remove her dirty glove and shake our hands and ask us POLITELY if there is anything she can do to help. 6) they advertise their day care fees as $20 for a single day and on the brochure they say PACKAGE OF 5 days $15/per day. We never even addressed this issue, but we noticed afterwards that they are very shady about this. Nowhere on the post card price list does it say that it has to be "consecutive" days. We only took our dog 5 times and that was ENOUGH!!!! never again! I FEEL LIKE THESE PEOPLE ARE RUNNING AN EXTREMELY SHADY BUSINESS. Please look for other places to entrust your furbabies to. Do not RISK your dogs to these people. read more

Wish I could give 0 stars. My boyfriend and I took our dog here and originally we were happy with what we saw. They seemed to do a good job with the actual cut of our dogs hair, however after coming home with our dog we realized immediately a huge change in how he was acting. He wouldn't come greet me when I came home (extremely not like him) and would not get excited or respond to his name, etc. I would even hear him whimpering under the bed. He was traumatized. The very next day after he was groomed I could see his anal glad was very inflamed and swollen. We spent 150$ at the vets for treatment and medication after the vet confirmed there was definitely damage to the anal glad. My bf took our dog back to kool and kute to talk to the owner who was indifferent to the situation and acted like she did not care (she wouldn't even look at the wound). She said she would talk to her "insurance" and then a couple weeks later and we went back to kool and kute she said the insurance told her since our dog had knots she was not liable??? (The "insurance" never contacted us). Again, the owner was extremely rude, did not apologize, and to make matters worse she then stated they never expressed his anal glands (obviously not true). My bf pointed out that the package we purchased included that;so either she was lying or she's taking peoples money and not providing the full services expected! She refused to give a refund for the anal glad service and was just overall extremely rude. read more

I have taken my dog here several times and each time I have been more disappointed when I pick her up. The first time they practically shaved off all her hair when I specifically said to TRIM her body. The second time I picked her up I was charged FULL PRICE for a full body cut & wash when I simply asked them to give her face a haircut, since she had recently been spayed she couldn't be washed. They also have a cute new sign that reads " New year, New prices. $ 5 increases in prices" No thanks. Very dissatisfied. Save your money and take your pet elsewhere. read more

Seriously, I couldn't be more upset with this place. My dogs don't fear anything, they left here shaking. I thought, eh no big deal, they must have not enjoyed the belly shave. They also seem to be cut really close around there eyes. After a few days, my Yorkie seems to have an eye infection. I need to bring him to the very first thing in the morning. I'm irate at this place right now. Not only are my dogs unhappy when they leave, but now my baby boy may have an eye infection. I will explode on them if it's anything worse than some eye drops. NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE IF YOU LOVE YOUR DOG. read more

This place was awful. I called and specifically asked for a morning appt to bring my cat because she is a nervous cat and I didn't want her around a lot of barking dogs. No problem they said and booked me. I showed up at 9 our scheduled time and I can clearly hear at least 3 dogs barking in the back. I ask the guy at the front about this because this is exactly what I didn't want and he tells me sorry you have to talk to the groomer who is coming in at 11. I asked so you mean to tell me she just makes everyone bring their pets in at once makes them wait for two hours until she saunters in and than she does them like an assembly line. Well that was exactly what it is he said. This alone is annoying and should have tipped me off to take the cat home but I thought fine, her mats were so bad at this point and she just gets shaved into a lion cut so I asked as long as she is the first to get done and I come get her right away. ..... So I pick up my cat who seems even more stressed than any other time she has been at a groomer. I didn't think to check the hair cut it was a shave in a lion cut that the groomer said she knew very well so how do you screw it up? Well it was possible! . I take her home and out of the carrier and the moron has shaved her into a schnauzer hair cut?!?!! I asked for LION cut. How are they in any way similar you ask? Ya, they are not. Anyways I pick her up in disbelief to check her out and she has two huge mats that are still left between her legs. Like are you serious??? So I call and the lady was like well ok bring her back than...... Needless to say I never did. Oh! And last point she loaded Purfume on her. Who puts Purfume on a cat?? They hate that shit! Worst grooming experience ever. Try Neo pet they are way better. read more

This is honestly one of the worst places you could possibly take your dog. If you love your animals, please for the love of GOD do not bring them here. I thought it would be great, as they were close to my apartment. However, I was sadly mistaken. The first time, when I arrived, they didn't even bother to ask me what kind of cut I wanted for my dog. They took him, roughly, and walked to the back. They told me he would be done in three hours. I called, four hours later, and they said he hadn't even started yet. Two hours later I called and they said "ohh yeah, you have the lab" and I said no I had a Havanese and they said "oh you have a Frenchie, right?" I wanted to know what on earth was going on so I ran over there to make sure my dog was actually still at this place and he came out fine. I figured maybe whoever I spoke to was new and misinformed and that Covid just had everyone scatterbrained. A few months later (last week) I was in a bind and needed a haircut for my dog and decided to give them another chance because I did like his haircut last time. They never called to tell me my dog was ready and when I called they said "oh yeah you have the shi Tuz named buddy, right"? What an absolute joke. I then discovered that they had cut my dogs anal glands, and basically destroyed his ears. He is miserable and sick and I am stuck with a major vet bill. These people should be shut down before they kill an innocent animal with their stupidity and should not be allowed around anyone's dogs. read more

Horrible! I could hear my puppy crying and screaming while I was waiting in line to pick him up at the front. Someone else's dog pooped on the floor when it was picked up. On top of that when i asked the owner to call me she didn't even care and was SO RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL that I can't even explain. they have NO RESPECT FOR DOGS what so ever. I felt comfortable so I brought him in. The gentleman Hector helping me was very understanding, and they were very thorough with him. So usually I take my little Terrier mix to Petsmart. Today, however, they didn't have any availability so I decided to mosey on over to Kool & Kute down the block from my apartment. They did an average job...I'd give them 3.5 stars of I could. Since she's a terrier mix, there isn't much to her cut, other than shave her body and trim her face, so it's not a "rocket science" type of job...they gave her a cute little bedazzled pink ribbon collar, which I thought was a nice touch. Staff was friendly. A little pricey, but that's Brickell for ya. I wasn't too impressed by the dark grey schnauzer they had sitting leash-less on the bench. It growled at my little girl a few times and she's already a very skittish dog, so I wasn't thrilled that this schnauzer added to her nervousness, but he (or she) stayed in its place and didn't cause any more trouble than that, so I won't fault them too much for that. Dogs will be dogs. Overall, decent job. I might be back if my usual place can't take my pup on any given day...especially since this place is so incredibly convenient to go to and they took my pooch the same day I called. read more
