Montaditos - pulled pork open face dish

This was our first time at Kooben; it will be the first of many. Breakfast was amazing. Had the Montaditos (open faced pulled pork). I recommend it. A hearty portion and not too spicy. (They bring hot sauce to add if you want. And not some bottle, but an actual sauce made by the chef). The coffee selection was intriguing. I went with the Cafe De Olla (which they gave a free tasting). Glad to see a local restaurant place for a unique and flavorful breakfast.

Food was great, service was attentive and friendly. It was very busy with a lively ambiance. Their coffee is a must-try.

That said, my company was a lua themed party at The Paradiso by the pool, which I never knew existed! I will say, the navigation and parking here is a challenge and moreover, the extended area outside can be a bit sketchy but in the relative vicinity it's safe. Walking up, I took the side entrance to the pool area under the tents. The staff here were very nice and engaging. I was able to get a plethora of drinks and strike up good conversations. I had two glasses of a Pino which was decent but, I'm not going to complain about "free." The food, well it was simple, by design in that's what we ordered. We had chicken fingers, sliders, crudies of carrots, olives and you get the point. It was fresh and while not earth shattering, it did it's purpose. They did offer games like corn hole, rings and a slew of other fun activities which I'm not sure if my company brought or they had available but the environment was one of fun and enjoyment. I will admit it was HOT but unless I missed something, they couldn't control the weather! Perhaps a couple well placed fans would help, especially aimed at the lawn chairs and picknick tables. Overall, this is a decent venue to hold a company party, get together or whatever else a social activity might entail. The people are nice, the place is clean and safe. Again parking and weaving in and out of narrow streets can be a slight adventure.

We ordered the chai latte, cold brew with caramel and oat milk, and a slice of earl grey carrot cake. We added sweet coconut cold foam to both drinks. I was astonished to pay $19 for those 2 drinks and another $8 for a very small slice of cake. Chai latte- Found it to be okay...nothing super special about it. Cold brew- It reminded me of this specific sesame grain drink with barely any coffee taste. Could not finish. Carrot cake- It was moist and the frosting was good. No part of it tasted like earl grey imo. I would skip on the sweet coconut cold foam as it barely provides sweetness to your drink, which in turn, is not worth the additional cost. Overall, it was a nice place to cool down and the atmosphere was alright. The interior is aesthetic and well designed. Coffee is not really special and cake is good. Wallet may shed a tear.

They have great food and their baked goods are awesome! Some outdoor seating for a bit of peace, a countertop if you want to be in the magic being made, and tables to get some work done or catch up with friends and colleagues. I've heard business meeting, meetups, dates, podcasts and book club discussions. Love the place! The use of coffee bags as decorations and other rustic decor makes me happy. The icing to update the review is my little guy spilled his water, one of the staff made him a little crab craft to match his shirt just to cheer him up. That's just kindness.

I really wanted a place that roasts their own beans, and of course, I couldn't resist getting a scone while I was there. While I was visiting, a mother and her young daughter (probably around seven or eight) came in, and the daughter was so curious about how the coffee was made. It was really nice to see the staff take the time to walk them through everything--explaining the photos on the wall, the different types of beans, how they're grown, and where they source them from. It created such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Experiences like that really stand out, and it's clear they care about both their craft and their customers. I'll definitely be going back again.

It's…read moredelicious!* My first experience here was about an hour before they closed on a Saturday afternoon. We were the only customers at the time, which I appreciated because it gave us time to review the menu & chat with the gentleman behind the counter without worrying about feeling rushed, etc. The spot is cute, with plenty of parking, seating inside and out, and it gives off a nice, cozy vintage vibe. He gave us time to look at the signature drinks, offered information, let us ask questions, etc. He was very nice! I landed on the Biscoff Bliss and as a fun tidbit - they offer Small, Medium, and Large, but they also have a "bucket" size - which we found intriguing & of course went for the bucket! It's essentially one of those "to-go" soup containers and they make a hole in the lid to fit a large boba tea sized straw. It also had like 5 shots of espresso in it and even at 3pm, I'm down for! That was literally the best coffee I have tried in a long time. It was delicious and there was so much of it that I got to enjoy it for the rest of the afternoon! As a side note, the 2nd time I went, I ordered the same thing & another barista made it. It was good, but not as good as the first one I had. The prices are great and I love supporting a small business over a chain. So you should definitely pay a visit to The Bean Counter!
