    Perfect from start to finish! I love Kona Grill, and I drove 35 minutes from downtown SLC to eat here! It's a chain franchise but not very many of these in the country. I sat at the bar around 3 PM on Tuesday 4/1/25 a little after their happy hour started. Sara was excellent---attentive, upbeat, friendly, conversational, and professional. My meal consisted of one order the turmeric rice (regular menu item), two orders of the chicken satay (happy hour), one order of the angry edamame (happy hour), and the Kona margarita (happy hour but not). Because of rules in Utah, they can't charge the happy hour price for alcohol, only for food. All the food came out hot, fresh, delicious, and a generous portion for the price. The margarita was fresh, garnished well, tasty, and visually appealing. Tons of free parking out front. The ambiance was great. The bar was mostly empty. The interior is HUGE. I've only been to one other Kona (in Baltimore, MD), and this one has much more of a vibe, it's newer, it's cleaner, and their aquarium is actually clean and well maintained whereas the Baltimore, MD, one is straight-up trash. I would one-thousand-percent come back and highly recommend them, and don't forget to sign up for their Konavore rewards program. You get a very generous annual birthday perk, and their happy hour pricing is one of the best you'll find. Trust me!

    First review and now a favorite place! Our first time here was wonderful. The food and drinks are great. It is a great spot for a girls night out or date night. The staff had some great recommendations.

    Sometimes I think that I'm missing out on really good menu items when I order "just a salad" but tonight, the salad was so amazing that I have no regrets. (I ordered the Sweet & Bleu, by the way). Fun place with a high energy atmosphere and an enclosed patio makes for a perfect fall evening. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious.

    Poke Bowl? More Like a Poke-ful Adventure! My quest for the perfect poke bowl at Kona Grill led me to an unexpected adventure. I emerged victorious, but not unscathed. First, the sheer number of customization options was enough to make my head spin. Edamame, seaweed salad, crunchy onions - it was like a flavor explosion waiting to happen in a bowl. Then came the protein. I bravely chose spicy ahi tuna, but let's just say the spice level was more "volcano erupting" than "tropical island breeze." I heroically devoured it all, but my taste buds may never be the same. In the end, my poke bowl was a delicious, tear-inducing triumph. Kona Grill gets points for variety and freshness. 5 out of 5 stars. Sage is a great server also. Do yourself a favor and get yo butt to Kona Grill ASAP!

    Earned 2 stars for no wait time, our server was friendly, it wasn't busy, and they have the "pay on at the table" option. We ordered the calamari, salmon, and a salad. The calamari was overcooked/greasy and they brought out the wrong entree salad. The salmon (side of rice) was simple and $35. The correct salad never came and we had to leave. I hate giving 1 star reviews and maybe it was just an off night for them. Still paid for everything plus tip. The inside looks nice, wish it was better, but "it's gonna have to be a 'no' for me dawg."

    A Must-Try! Loved our experience at Kona Grill! The rooftop views were stunning, the ambiance was elegant yet relaxed, and the food was absolutely delicious. We had sushi, steak, and seafood -- all perfectly prepared. Big shoutout to Rex, our server, who gave us exceptional service and made us feel so welcome. The cocktails were also a highlight. Can't wait to come back!

    Just okay! We gave 4 stars because the service was excellent. The food was alright but nothing wow. For the price I would expect a more wow experience. We sat on the rooftop and that was nice.

    The interior feels like you're under the sea. My favorites on the menu are: Dragon fruit margarita and Patio Bubbles, 10/10. The house field salad and chopped salad were sooooo good! The garlic bread is cheesy I recommend the chocolate cake as a dessert. Everyone was friendly and kind.

    This place was wonderful. We loved it. It's clean, beautiful and the people were very friendly and helpful. I'm surprised that the bad reviews cause we loved it there. I had the grilled salmon and my girlfriend had the sashimi. The salmon came with roasted broccoli and rice, and it was very good. Excellent. We ordered an order of seasonal vegetables and had the asparagus which was grilled and it was delicious. My girlfriend had a glass of white wine, which I tasted. It was very good and I had a nonalcoholic beer. Sam Adams and I had not seen that nonalcoholic beer before. Our server was wonderful, young lady by the name of Reddi. She was very helpful, polite and friendly. Interior had wall paintings and a large aquarium. Several single bathrooms. I wish it wasn't so far from my house, but I'll be back anyhow.

    Wife and I used to LOVE Kona back in Missouri and would go multiple times a year, post pandemic Kona definitely started to slide. After moving to Utah and tried this location once they opened and every time we've been it's just a bit disappointing. Value has definitely fallen off, they've removed sides from each dish, while ALSO increasing prices significantly. And quality seems to have gone down on certain recipes as well. I got the Sweet Chili Salmon and the rice is just jalapeño mush, the salmon is mediocre. The happy hour items are solid. But it blows my mind trying to charge $15 for edamame The staff here is typically cordial but both recent times we've gone around 8:30-9:00. Everyone seems to be focused on their end of day tasks and getting out by 10:00 on the dot, rather than waiting the tables. And the food has been quite slow both times, to the level the wait staff is apologizing for the wait both times. Trending on giving up on this once great restaurant brand.

    At first impression I thought this place was going to be really good. The ambiance and look of the place was great. Music was a bit louder than I would want for visiting with my dinner party. After all is said and done, 5 star is nowhere in the realm of possibility with how it is. 1. 4 in our party, sat in a 6 top. "We" moved the extra settings to the end of table where they remained for the entire evening. Hostess should have removed upon seating 2. No water until well after we seated and ordered beverages, and we had to ask for it. And had to ask for refill. 3. Server was not very knowledgeable, had to go ask for answers to our questions. 4. Didn't tell us about any specials or promos, we had to figure it out ourselves. Just happened to see the board in looking around. 5. House wine is Black Box? Come on, box wine for a 5 star (claiming) establishment is laughable 6. Out of several beers on tap.....on a Friday night..poor planning on mgmt. I was really looking forward to Kirin on tap, never had it that way, then couldn't get in bottle either only the light, and I wasn't doing that. Had to settle for Lauganitas. Like I have had that before......smh!!!! I go out for trying new things 7. Food was ok, definitely not 5 star. Bland unseasoned fingerling potato's? Come on now, zest them up with something, serve them crispy not bland and soft. Steaks were good, not great or anything but, poke bowl was small and not much protein. Yes it's on the lighter side menu, but there was maybe 2oz of tuna. Sushi roll was nice to look at, tasted pretty good. Meatballs were really good. So apps were the best part of the meal. 8. Plates never removed after finished, we had to stack them in middle of table to get them from in front of us. Even after dessert was served, they stayed. Never removed. This is a MAJOR, MAJOR foul. And deserves a serious ass ripping of your staff. 5 star is nothing on the table to remind you of the gluttony you just finished. Two hostesses standing around doing nothing leaning against the wall gossiping and sipping on a beverage in a styrofoam cup, two individuals in sushi bar doing nothing but playing grab ass. Other servers and personnel milling around. No mgr in site anywhere......come on TEAM!! Help each other out, open your eyes as to what you can do to help your team. All this screams 3 Star at best, and the prices you are charging for this 3ish Star is a disgrace. We go out with this other couple once a month to a high end place we have never been, this by far is in last place. You have a ton of potential, mgmt needs to straight up. Do better or you will be closing up shop before you know it.

    Had such a fun lunch with friends. We ordered off the Happy Hour menu and it was perfect to sample all the yummy things! Cornell and Renata gave us the best service. Can't wait to come back. This restaurant is a GEM!

In the end, we surrendered and declared both worthy artifacts, perfectly whetting our appetites for what can only be described as a pure culinary holiday of epic proportions. Now, Trace is on a lifelong quest -- nay, a calling -- to discover the world's best calamari. So naturally, we pressed onward. And friends... if you have never ordered a second round of appetizers, let this be the night you start. This calamari is so good that even those of us who once thought this quest a bit eccentric quickly became devoted pilgrims. The destination? Reached on the first trip. Undoubtedly, unquestionably, the best calamari you will ever experience. Stop looking. Just go to Wild Fin. But was that the end of our foraging adventure? Oh, you sweet summer Hobbit -- no. From the seared ahi tuna, to the scallops and prawns, to the surf-and-turf salmon and filet, every dish felt like another jeweled prize pulled from a dragon's hoard. Even the humble burger shone: Michael stared at it in reverent silence, declared it too pretty to eat, and then promptly announced it was the best burger he'd ever had. Drinks were spot-on, plates returned empty, and every last morsel whispered, stay... linger... order more. By the end, we wished we were Hobbits -- specifically the kind who eat second dinner like Trace, in lieu of any breakfast at all. So let it be known: this Riverton gem is Karen-approved. Our fellowship will absolutely return, hearts full, appetites ready, and always in pursuit of my precious.

Florida girl here with a semi San Francisco husband, so I would say we have standards. The seasoning was perfect and the shrimp was cooked just right. Two dishes we ordered were unavailable -- and we only found out after waiting another 20-30 minutes and watching tables seated after us get their food first. No manager was available, just a "server assistant" who couldn't do much. By the time we left, it was 2:00 PM. We'd been there over an hour with no food and nonstop confusion. A nearby table mentioned slow service too, so clearly this wasn't just us.
