I called 3-4 HVAC companies and Matt Struven, owner of Struven heating, was the only one to come out quickly and followed up with me a couple times while the other companies were taking their time getting me quotes. Again, we didn't have time to waste as the weather was below freezing. Matt got everything scheduled -- from ordering the new furnace to arranging the crane and flatbed to getting the permits from the city. Again, all of this during a week when a lot of people are out for the holidays. He replaced the rooftop furnace the morning of NYE. Matt is very professional, thorough, knows his stuff, is on time, gave good pricing, and left the jobsite clean.

Over the course of a year they sent out 9 different technicians to try and fix it. I got so tired of their inability and unwillingness to fix the unit they installed that I reached out to Struven to see if they could identify the problem. After one visit, the Struven rep Matt gave me four different problems that the original company caused when they incorrectly installed the unit. I brought the original company back out and gave them the recommendations from the Struven rep and Presto--problem solved! I should have gone with Struven from the beginning. They are professional, competent, and we're genuinely concerned with helping me fix my problem.

They had to come back to my home 7 times, yes 7 times!! over a course of eight months and still did not (and I believe on purpose) install our cooling system correctly. We had to send them certified letters requesting them to complete the work they started. We even threaten to sue and go to the Attorney General Office. They would not return our phone calls and would not show up for appointments. And they acted this way because we joined the unsatisfied customers club. It was a nightmare for two new home owners. Once Merrill got his money he could care less and we got screwed in the process. We eventually had to get someone else to complete the project almost a year later. I now know that you should always trust your gut with people and I ignored it that time. I would see Merrill on his phone constantly apologizing to people and he would get off the phone and talk about how difficult some clients were. He and Chris would talk about clients who complained and ignore their cell phones when they rung. At the last visit Chris left his van on the city side of our driveway and all of his tools were stolen. He had the nerve to tell us that we were liable and should pay for of the tools that were stolen. Two thousand dollars to be exact!! We told him to wait on it you jerk!!! These people are crazy and there are too many companies out there that are both professional and competent to have to deal with people like this. Pleaase take your time people and do your research before you hire anyone and follow your gut. It is worth it in the long run!!!

(very important to me.) The technician Marcos was very polite and even wore blue booties in my home. I hate when service people walk in to repair and leave my carpet filthy with their work boots. Anyway Marcos quickly diagnosed the problem, showing and explaining to me how over time refridgerant is lost. He replenished ir and was very reasonable. I really lucked out by calling MBR, If someone would have told me it was beyond repair and I needed a new one, I would have been none the wiser.
