Solid sushi burrito food truck. Tried the SF roll with unagi sauce and it is quite tasty. There was no line and service was really quick. A little pricey for a food truck but, overall, I'd be happy to see them again near our office building.

The crunch burrito

Having tried Sushirrito before, I was curious to see how this place would compare. I tried the Crunch Burrito, which is basically a shrimp tempura roll. I've also tried the equivalent at Sushirrito and I think I prefer Kome's. The biggest difference between the one here and at Sushirrito is that they use soy paper as the "tortilla" here instead of seaweed. I'm not a fan of seaweed (and I'm actually kind of allergic to it), so I liked it better here. The burrito here was also bigger than at Sushirrito as well. Other than that, it's a pretty good, standard shrimp tempura roll! I like that they give you different options for the dipping sauces and let you add different kinds of meat too. I went with spicy mayo, but I wish I had opted for something hotter. Overall, I would say that if you're a fan of Sushirrito, you would probably like this place as well!

After seeing Kome Sushi Burrito at Alameda's Off the Grid a few times, I finally decided to give them a try and I hate to say it, but it really wasn't anything special. I ordered the Crunch Burrito which was soy paper stuffed with shrimp tempura, imitation crab, avocado, cucumber, daikon, carrots and rice. It tasted similar to a crunchy tempura roll and wasn't wrapped tight enough to where ingredients were falling out after each bite. I wish it was wrapped in seaweed because I wasn't much of a fan of the soy paper. The burrito was a decent size, but not worth the $10.50 price tag. Included is a dipping sauce of your choice. I went with the wasabi mayo which was delicious and gave it a nice kick, however it was a small amount so I ran out of sauce halfway through. Do note, their burritos can get pricey. Basic burritos cost between $8.50-10.50. If you want protein such as fish, chicken, or eel, expect to add on another $3-4. Chances are it's not going to be enough dipping sauce, so if you want extra, that's another $.50. WHAT TO KNOW: *Credit cards are accepted *For their location, check their website

Vegetarian burrito - thick and long cucumbers and a large portion of seaweed.
Taylor S.

I was disappointed by the food. Granted, this was my first ever sushi burrito so I don't have others to compare it to, but it wasn't tasty and it could've been much better prepared. I didn't have meat or fish though so I can't speak to that. I got the veggie burrito. The main issue I had was the way the vegetables were cut - thick and long cucumbers that spanned the whole burrito resulted in too much cucumber in each bite. The seaweed salad was a strange texture and took up a large portion of the burrito as well. So, essentially each bite was mostly cucumber and/or seaweed rather than a balance of the other vegetables. Service was friendly but overall, I wouldn't go back - at least not for the vegetarian option.

Crunch Burrito w/ Tuna Poke & Godzilla Sauce

With four Sushirrito restaurants in downtown San Francisco, there is clearly a demand for these oversized sushi burritos. This truck seems to serve larger portions than Sushirrito, though offers fewer creative roll fillings. This is one of the few places you can go to fill up on sushi when you're hungry, without breaking the bank. Crunch Burrito w/ Tuna Poke & Godzilla Sauce: They were out of the eel, so I couldn't get the Godzilla Burrito. However, the Crunch Burrito w/ Tuna & Godzilla Sauce is essentially the same thing sans eel. It ended up costing $15.80, but was way more filling than what $15.80 would buy you at traditional sushi restaurant. Seriously, it felt hefty like a Chipotle burrito! I loved the crunch factor of the shrimp tempura. The tuna poke tasted nice, but the chunks were a bit too big for a burrito. Like I'd end up with way more fish than necessary in each bite since the whole cube would fall in. The menu says crab meat, but it's really surimi (imitation crab). That's fine because most sushi places serve it, but it'd be nice if the menu clarified. I liked the soy wrap because it didn't add the extra fishy taste that seaweed wraps often do. However, it could have been wrapped tighter since the seam burst open after the first bite and I had to hold it closed the rest of the meal. The godzilla sauce is apparently a combination of the kome kazi mayo, spicy mayo and wasabi mayo. I loved all the different flavors, but it was feeling a bit too mayo-y, like a tuna fish sandwich.

Godzilla.

We got the $16 Godzilla burrito. It was super good. I liked everything that was included inside the burrito and it definitely hit the right spot :) Would definitely recommend even though on the pricier side! -Edmund We shared the Godzilla and it was more then enough for two people. It is pricy for a burrito, BUT they stuff it with so much inside that it's totally worth it. -Kristen 5 stars from Edmund. 5 stars from Kristen.

Crunchy roll $10.50
Boris K.

Well that was really disappointing and unfulfilling. Almost $12 and a crunch roll later I'm sitting down and wondering why I didn't just get the Ox Tail from the Scotch Bonnet truck parked next to the Kome truck. It's a medium sized burrito, it's crunchy as advertised though the avocado was overpowered to the point that it might as well not have been there, and left me still hungry afterwards. Presentation-wise it's not very appealing and I can't vouch for the quality of ingredients. Worst of all though was the rice. I don't know if it was just this batch or it's a consistent thing, but there was a vinegar sourness in every bite. I know being turned into a burrito isn't exactly respectful to sushi, but this is just as bad as it can get. This was the official death knell for sushi burritos for me. Never again.

California sushi burrito
Kathy C.

Excellent, the california sushi burrito was everything I expected it to be. The sesame soy sauce was a great addition. They ran out of avocado, but that just means I need to get another one next time when they are at off the grid in serramonte.

Sheena C.

Decided to try this truck again....I wish I didn't. Whenever I order from Sushiritto, the tempura is at least warm. This burrito was straight up cold. Everything, cold. The seaweed was already super soft like it had been sitting in water for awhile. The shrimp again not fully cooked. Why would I want my shrimp to be clear...which is not good. Oh, and poorly wrapped burrito. Why are they still around?

Meh.

Eh. It was okay. I've had sushiritto in Palo Alto, which is DELICIOUS! That being said I thought I would be blown away by kome sushi burritos, but I wasn't. It was mostly California type crab meat & honestly pretty bland. It just tasted like a bunch of smush in my mouth. Not enough textures & I actually didn't like that it wasn't wrapped in seaweed! Seaweed gives the wrap extra flavor, soy paper adds literally no flavor at all except for the seeds the stick into it. Also, they got my sauce order wrong. They put some weird sauce on it when I ordered the wasabi mayo. Probably won't be trying this food truck again. It's not bad, it's just not that great : /

3.5ish, rounding up to 4 bc strictly compared with other sushi burritos i prefer kome's execution of course i got their crayest thing GODZILLA BURRITO $16 (tuna, eel, tempura shrimp, crab, avocado, blablabla vegetables, rice, godzilla sauce) dig how rice is minimal vs burritos stuffed with mostly rice. can't speak on the gzilla spicy sauce bc didn't especially taste or see it; although wasabi appeared in the last bite or two

Open air, a mix of food trucks, people hanging out, dogs everywhere, and that easy San Francisco energy where you can show up however you are and it fits. It never feels like a production, just a good place to land. We have eaten our way through a decent chunk of the trucks at this point, and that is half the fun. One day it is something messy and indulgent, the next it is lighter, but it always hits. Grabbing a drink, finding a spot at the picnic tables, and slowly settling in as the place fills up is kind of the rhythm. It is social without being overwhelming, lively without being chaotic. What keeps us coming back is how consistent it feels in the best way. It is easy, flexible, and always a good time whether you stay for an hour or lose an entire afternoon there. It is the kind of spot that turns into a routine before you even realize it, and honestly, we are not mad about it.

Beyond that, the food and drinks are all food truck based. They are all quite good, and there's a wide variety of items. This also means a good variety for folks with different dietary needs, because they are mostly picking their own food. I have always enjoyed my time here, whether it's on company dime or if I'm just hanging out with friends. I do wish that there are more heaters around for the colder days but that's just life in the bay! It can be kind of cold and foggy all seasons here, so if you have a solid group of folks I'd recommend reserving a spot with a fire pit. One more note: parking can be tough. You either have to circle around for street parking, or rideshare here.

There were plenty of craft vendors and food vendors, organized space-wise by category: craft vendors were closer to the entrance, food vendors were farther in. My favorites from the craft side were the amount of curated clothes sellers!! Soooo many cute jackets, dresses, tops, skirts, shoes, and bags. There were also a couple music stages playing music -- I liked that they had enough space between them so the sound didn't overlap when you were trying to listen to the artist(s) at either stage. The stage in the back was more of a DJ set, playing house music, and the stage in front had live music -- they had a full band and even a group playing an Irish jig earlier in the day, which was very fun. There were plenty of alcohol stations all around -- in the back, in the front, lining the whole perimeter of the event. There was also a good variety of crafts and a solid selection of food vendors. My only wish is that there had been more sweet options because there were tons of savory options. But overall, everything was very diverse, looked great, and was interesting and unique -- you had Nepali food, Indonesian food, Indian food, Mexican food, etc. -- very ethnically diverse. Overall, I think this is a great event and opportunity to spend time with loved ones (fun for adults and families alike!), grab a bite, and support local businesses! The friend I came with said the market has grown so much since before the pandemic, so it's lovely to see the community show up and show out for this. I hope OTG and WCC continue to host this market! Capelo's Barbecue: My friend and I ordered from Capelo's Barbecue's food truck. We got the 3-meat plate with beef brisket, pork ribs, and BBQ smoked chicken. First -- that line was hella long. We waited about 30 minutes (not including the wait after for the food), but it was fun since I had my friend to talk to. The layout of the menu and pricing were quite clear, so it was easy to decide what we wanted while we waited in line. Also, no dedicated seating area for the truck (night market!). The meats: beef brisket and pork ribs were an extra $2 each on the meat plate. The beef brisket was my favorite -- super smoky and so tender, almost melt-in-your-mouth, but not mushy. Just the perfect texture. Honestly, I wish it had a little more salt to add another layer of flavor besides just meat and smoke, but I still enjoyed the heck out of that brisket. The pork ribs were solid -- not the most amazing ribs I've ever had, but good flavor and texture. They weren't fall-off-the-bone tender, but they had a satisfying chew. I had to put some effort into tearin' the flesh from the bone with my teeth (as you do with ribs), and I liked that. The BBQ smoked chicken? Honestly, nothing special. It was a good, neutral option compared to the brisket and ribs, but the main flavor I picked up was black pepper. Solid chicken breast, but nothing memorable. Even the skin was meh. For the sides, we chose the baked beans and mac and cheese. The baked beans were wonderfully sweet and savory -- they paired perfectly with the BBQ. The mac and cheese was good and worked well with everything, but it wasn't particularly special on its own. Altogether, I think we paid around $32 for the plate. If I hadn't been splitting it with another person, honestly, I don't know if it would've been worth it -- but it was good in the moment. Quite tasty overall.

My friend and I ordered the turmeric golden latte and the butterfly pea latte from the "botanical + herbal" section. Both drinks looked beautiful, but they tasted surprisingly thin and pretty flavorless. There wasn't much depth or richness, and we were confused because we expected a latte-style drink to include espresso. After asking the barista, we learned that the botanical + herbal drinks don't come with coffee or espresso at all. That wasn't clearly indicated, and the word "latte" definitely led us to assume otherwise. To their credit, the barista was kind and offered to add an espresso shot to my drink once I mentioned the confusion. After the addition, it tasted significantly better and finally had some body. I just don't understand why that wouldn't be the default or at least clearly labeled on the menu. The concept and setting are appealing, but the experience itself felt underwhelming.

The Leo's taco truck literally is located in San Francisco/Ocean Beach with a view of the Pacific Ocean. Leo's taco trucks are known in Southern California as THE taco truck for reasonably priced street tacos, that are beyond delicious. The experience at the San Francisco/Ocean Beach taco truck was great. For the most part it mirrors the LA experience, which is exactly what I wanted. It's like having a piece of home. Menu prices are nonexistent so there's no way to determine exactly what you're going to be charged. I ordered two Al pastor tacos, and was charged seven dollars which included tax. I really like that they always include a piece of pineapple with the Al Pastor. The tacos were absolutely yummy. The meat was flavorful, but definitely not as juicy as the LA version. Plus, they don't seem to be as generous with meat at this location as they are in LA. The talk of themselves are not the traditional small street tacos, and yet they're smaller than the traditional sized tacos. They do provide bagged condiments that include sauces and radish. I was super hesitant to try them because of some of the other reviews. Tasty tacos, and if you've ever been to Leo's, and you, in this part of the Bay Area, it's definitely worth a stop.
