I wish I knew about this Bulgarian food truck sooner. Not only is the food really good, the people there were so nice to me and my pup when we last visited them. I love their food--the Kebapche. Delicious! Bittersweet because they just announced on IG that they are ceasing their food truck operation. However, it looks like they are doing private catering, etc. Excited to see what's to come. Good luck to them. read more

This was one of the food trucks at the Sunday Presidio Pop Up on the Main Parade Lawn (across from The Walt Disney Family Museum). When I came here with my friends last time, I remember having a good experience so decided to pay them another visit. Their menu looked smaller with different items this time around. I saw a lot of people ordering the Yogurt Marinated Chicken ($17.00 + tax), so I decided to order that. +Even though the grilled Mary's Chicken looked dry, it was moist and juicy. Never thought of yogurt as a marinade, but hey it works! +Organic spring mix salad was fresh and lightly dressed w/vinaigrette. +Lutenitsa, a Bulgarian spread made with roasted red peppers and other veggies, was flavorful and not spicy. -Chicken was burnt in a lot of parts: Seems like it was left too long on the grill -Herb polenta cake was soft, but bland. Other items I tried during my last visit: +Black Sea Fisherman's Stew +Baklava Side notes: 1.) Check the Presidio's website for their schedule: https://presidio.gov/explore/park-attractions/presidio-pop-up-schedule 2.) Enjoy your meal on the picnic tables or lawn. 3.) Paid parking lots: Bring coins b/c there's a surcharge for credit cards. *Verdict: If the chicken wasn't burnt, it would have been a winner winner chicken dinner. read more

Had the opportunity to try out Kukar's food at Golden Gate Park's Flower Piano event. It was so good! The spinach banitsa was to perfectly crispy on the outside and the filling so tasty. We also tried the yoghurt marinated chicken dish and the yogurt cup--everything was impossibly fresh and we ate them so fast that I forgot to take photos for this review. Priced are reasonable and service was friendly. Must try!!! read more

We stumbled upon this Bulgarian food truck at TreasureFest this past weekend, and chose it mainly cuz the line was shorter than most other food stands at the event. But our experience here ended up exceeding our expectations. The service was more than sufficient, wait time was reasonable, and I guess it was meant to be... we absolutely loved our dishes! The kebapcheta had juicy well seasoned beef and pork links with buttery delicious pan seared potatoes and fresh cucumbers on the side. The yogurt marinated chicken was grilled perfectly, a nice blend of herbs and spices, and a very tasty polenta cake to go along with that. The spinach banitsa was like a flaky empanada type of savory treat, a bit oily but filled with a nice mix of organic baby spinach, creamy scrambled eggs, and bulgarian white cheese. It definitely leaves me craving more! We washed everything down with some San Pellegrino sparkling water (I especially loved the peach and clementine flavor), and it made for the perfect meal on a sunny Sunday afternoon. read more

I tried Kuker over the weekend at Tunneltops and was impressed with how delicious the selections were, how fresh and well-prepared everything was, and how friendly and helpful the staff at Kuker were. The Banitsa and Kebabche were absolutely delicious, and we raved about the gorgeous potatoes served alongside -- outstanding! The passion these friendly folk have for Bulgarian street food was on display and I was thrilled to benefit from this. I will definitely be back! I highly recommend you give Kuker a try if you see their truck around town -- I think you'll be delighted! read more

I've tried a lot of different cuisines in my lifetime, but I don't think I've ever had Bulgarian. So I was super exicted to learn this truck was coming to Levi Plaza for lunch. Kinda reminiscent of Greek or Turkish, which makes sense since Bulgaria is near both. Egg & Cheese Banitsa: Reminded me a bit of Kichi Kozanis, or "Greek Spiral" as it's known at Trader Joe's. Thin crispy flaky dough in a spiral shape with cheese and egg filling inside. Deliciously rich and buttery. I woofed this down. Spinach Banitsa: Same configuration as the other banitsa, but with spinach too. So it was like a Spanakopita, but in a spiral shape. The layers of flaky dough are just great here, so another win. With all the other good stuff going on, you don't mind eating some greens hiding inside. Monastirska Chorba: The only thing I didn't care for since I found it kinda bland. The huge butter beans had a nice texture, but not much flavor. There were some veggies (celery, carrots, red pepper) in the soup, but they were cut so small that you barely tasted them. The broth itself was watery. It's probably very healthy, but not anywhere near the wow factor as the other dishes I tried here. Kebabche: Reminded me of a Turkish Kefta Kebab, but with pork instead of lamb. The meat had a lot of great flavor and was nicely charred. The red pepper spread was full of flavor too and went so nicely against the bread and meat. The bread itself felt artisanal, as it was golden and shinier than rolls from a bag. Kinda wish there was a bigger piece of bread though, since it felt like I was running out of bread by the time I got to my 3rd kebab. The cucumber slices were a refreshing pairing the rich meat. read more

Something was going with the truck, food was taking super long. One of the young men working came out to where the family I was sitting and explained something was wrong with the stove and was apologetic about the situation. No worries, just sitting here enjoying the beautiful day. We ordered every single item on the 4 item menu that was available. So worth the wait, everything was so good. Stumbled upon this place while stuck in a traffic jam on Treasure Island. My 2 older, but young, kids needed to walk so we found this delightful little Bulgarian truck. It is run by this DARLING couple (goals) who were super nice and fast with the order. I ordered three things the kabob, the marinated chicken and the feta and tomato salad and all were 10/10. I would always go back here if it was an option. Many gluten free/gluten free friendly options. read more

Kuker - Menu Oct 2022 - Bulgarian Near Me - San Francisco, California

It's my first time to try Bulgarian food, and if this is how their food is all about, then sign me up! I always get their kebapcheta which is basically minced meat shaped in cylindrical logs. It's very simple and yet when eaten with all the elements in the plate, it makes sense. The lutenitsa spread (roasted pepper relish) ties it all together. Very friendly and you can see the consistency in appearance and flavor in their food. Their food truck can be seen at the presidio by the main parade lawn. You get the chance to eat good, clean food while enjoying the breathtaking view of San Fransisco especially of the Golden Gate bridge. read more

Kuker - Sausage "kebapche", potatoes, bread roll, cucumbers and a side of sauce "lutenitza" - Bulgarian Near Me - San Francisco, California

Ordered the yogurt marinated chicken, spinach banitsa (crispy Bulgarian spinach and feta pastry) and pumpkin banitsa (sweet pumpkin pastry) at the food truck as it was parked at the Presidio. Every item was well executed and delicious! I like that the ingredients are well sourced and you can taste the difference. The chicken was so well executed and flavourful, with a good balance if spices, juiciness, and char. The banitsa was really well done - crispy, buttery, and the spinach one was not too salty and the pumpkin one was not too sweet. I've traveled a lot to Bulgaria and I think this food would be highly regarded there as well. I can't wait to take another mini "trip" to culinary Bulgaria via Kuker. read more

8/13/22 I got a banitsa "bacon, egg & cheese" for $6 and I think it was the best tasting food at this #foodtruck event. It's the only food we went back for seconds, but alas we were refused then cause I guess they needed to catch up on orders. Never had #BulgarianStreetFood before so this was a great start. It's phyllo dough based but basically wrapped up like a cinnamon roll into a pie. The bacon and cheese was savory and the whole thing was delicious. I'd say if there's to be any improvement it's that the middle is a bit more doughy than the crisp outer areas. Needs more separation between layers there. Anyway I want more. I can't give a full 5 points though cause nothing else on their menu looks worth eating. 4/5 #sanfrancisco #bulgarianfood #bulgariancuisine read more

Incredible food! A definite must eat! I've eaten nearly everything on the menu at this point, with the kebapcheta and banitza being my favorite. The trailer itself looks great, I love the design. The owners are also incredibly friendly and clearly love what they do! read more

Very average. Not feeling compelled to go again because it missed on flavor and the ingredients didn't taste as fresh as other reviewers raved about (but there's only 16 reviews). And it was overly salty. Had the tomato salad with chicken. Chicken wasn't particularly appetizing. Maybe the food they serve at the Presidio Tunnel Top pop-up isn't as fresh. If you happen to be nearby it's decent, but I wish I had tried a different food truck. Also, I think I prefer feta (or any other cheese) to the white cheese they use in the salad. read more

This was the best food truck meal I've had in a long time. I enjoyed every bite of my lunch. The kabobs were very flavorful- nicely seasoned and nicely grilled. The potatoes, cucumbers, pepper sauce and roll were all delicious as well. Lunch was filling so I saved the phyllo pastry for later. I will definitely go out of my way to find this food truck. read more
