This stand is located at the Sunday farmers market at Stonestown. There is hardly any seating, usually very busy. The tacos are so good and the sauces are great! The horchata is too sweet for my liking, but it's decent. We come here every week!

Pork tamale with salsa

This is just a review of the pork tamale and I think it's excellent. Unlike other pork tamales I've had the meat isn't stringy and there's a small bit of fat chopped up with the meat mix making it more succulent. Flavor is good!

So slow. I've been waiting about 45 for 1 quesabirria. Missed most of the festival waiting for food. Never again.

al pastor tacos, asada tacos, horchata, hibiscus drink

I came here with my friend when we went to the Clement Street farmers market. We got asada and al pastor tacos, and hibiscus and horchata drinks. The tacos were both really good, with a good portion of meat and fresh and pickled veggies. The al pastor definitely had more flavor than the asada, but both were good in my opinion. I also enjoyed the salsa and pickles, although I couldn't fit it all in the tacos and ended up eating the pickles separately. The drinks were both quite sweet, but the horchata had a nice cinnamon flavor and the hibiscus was refreshing.

Al pastor tacos

Got al pastor tacos with sour cream and cheese. They were oily and messy to eat but they tasted pretty good. Price was $3 for just al pastor and $1 extra for the sour cream and cheese. I would order from here again if I'm in the area.

"Breakfast burrito." Actually a wet, flavorless mess.

Avoid at all costs. Sadly, I have nothing good to say about this experience. This is the first time Tamales Martha showed up to the Stonestown Farmer's market. I'd give zero stars if possible for the food and hygiene. The horchata and agua fresca were good, so I guess they deserve one star. Just look at that photo of a "breakfast burrito" supposedly with chorizo. It was just a bland, wet mess. Oddly, I tasted cloves in there somewhere, but that was the only flavor. Just can't discern any of the ingredients. This place has clearly been around for a while as the tent was well worn in, and the cash box was black with filth. My guess is they hit up a new farmer's market, then work it until everyone has tried it once and given up, then they move on to the next.

The tamales are disgusting. The masa is dry and has a strange taste to it. Seriously, Trader Joe's frozen tamales are better!

I ordered the carnitas burrito and my husband ordered the carne asada one. We also asked the guys for a salsa picante and their house made one delivered! The ingredients were tasty, well seasoned and fresh. Service is quick, food and ambiance are no frills and cash only. I think about this burrito daily and am willing to travel across the country to get it again. Not to mention, but this is a Mission style burrito in the Mission! This is the only way to do it and I now totally understand the hype.

A few people were already in there eating, and we know this place is good, as a few others in our group and I have been here multiple times. The Taqueria is typical of any other, with bench-style chairs for folks to sit on, a water station, and workers cooking it up in the kitchen. I wasn't too hungry, so I grabbed a Super Lengua Taco, while my friends grabbed burritos, we ended up grabbing 3 complimentary chips and guac/salsa with our order and the food came out pretty quickly. When I saw my Taco I forgot how much they stuffed it and wow, two of these would've filled me up just like a taco; there was so much Lengua that it kept falling off after every bite. The flavors all came together and I scruffed down the whole thing after about 6+ bites! Definitely a place to come to if you're looking for a full meal, or something to snack on!

The space is relatively spacious for smaller groups to hangout after a night out around the area for delicious munchies. Crunchy with shrimp and a creamy cabbage and the chicken redolent with lots of fresh cilantro, it was the first time I had a red taco. This will be my go-to always. My son had the crunchy red burrito ($15.75) with chorizo, crispy cheese, sour cream, pinto beans, guacamole and pico de gallo with a horchata to drink. On a Saturday night in the Castro, this corner of 16th and Market is already poppin' with area bars so while they'll rush out with your order curbside, my son dashed in for speed. Super friendly service, cute cafe tables for dine-in, Tacos El Tucan is now on the dining circuit. Love this spot and it's close by, too. Open very late on Saturday night 'til 2am if you're partying and craving drunchies.

The line was quite long wrapped around the block but took about 25 minutes because people come here sit down and they eat and leave pretty quickly because the lines are long. The ambience is very nice. It's like I walked into a Hispanic home. The staff here are very friendly, but please make sure you accommodate because there is a lot of people waiting in line so I'm not saying eat your food fast and leave. I have tried a plethora Mexican food places as I enjoy it the most and this has by far let me down the most. Although it is super packed and has a lot of business I suspect it used to be amazing and build a reputable name, then finished quality over time and continue to receive customers due to their past performance. The ambiance makes you think that this place offers amazing food considering the amount of people but when you try the food you will truly understand Super Burrito Carne Asada - 3/10 Regular Burrito Cabeza - 5/10 Burritos are extremely small, very oily and have barely any meat inside. Sauces are mid and they are very stingy as well, the won't provide extra sauces even if you ask nicely. Everything just tasted...bad; if you read this hopefully I can save you some money. Any other mexican food spot would be a better selection. Overall rating 2/5.
