Quite simply, these are the BEST fish tacos I've ever had in the Bay Area…read more The place is half a block from my studio, so I have the privilege of confirming this opinion at least once a week. I've also brought plenty of friends and family here to try them, and the verdict is always the same: wonderful! I've heard that pretty much everything else on the menu is equally excellent, but I'm completely addicted to the fish tacos, so I've never managed to order anything else. It's cozy, friendly, and incredibly efficient if you happen to be in a hurry. I honestly couldn't recommend it more highly, or more fondly.

I really enjoyed the creamy orange sauce. $5.75 a taco may seem a bit much, but at least the taco size and quality justifies the price. I also ordered the smaller size of ceviche for $15. It came with 2 large round tortilla chips (not sure what these are called) and a packet of saltine crackers. I feel like a bag of tortilla chips would have gone nicely with the ceviche because I ran out of the 2 large chips and crackers before I finished the ceviche. The ceviche itself was perfect. Their spinach pineapple agua fresca was refreshing and reminded me of those Odwalla green smoothies. You do taste the spinach but it's sweet and tastes good! I got here around 5:40 on a Friday and there was plenty of outdoor seating available, though it did start to fill up the longer I stayed. You can enter on either side of the back of Aloha.

This is my favorite go to taco fix in all of Oakland. I've been visiting the last several years,…read morewhere at one point Mi Reynitas had to compete with them across the street when they got super hyped. If you don't know this spot then it's definitely a sleeper because the locals come here and it can get busy. Freshly hand made tortillas I ordered... Al pastor 4.5/5 My absolute favorite. It's well seasoned and flavorful. Better than most places because they cook and cut it from the trompo Asada 4/5 Meat is nicely grilled which gives it a nice smokey flavor. Well seasoned and because it's chopped into smaller pieces, helps chew through the tough bites Pollo 4.5/5 This caught me by surprise because it tasted almost like carnitas. The chicken is grilled but it had the texture of a carnita. It was crispy, tender and very juicy. Nicely seasoned. This became one of my favorite meats Cabeza 4.5/5 Nicely seasoned and super tender. Drinks 4/5 Agua frescas are good but are mostly on the sweeter side. My favorite is the cucumber lime because it's very refreshing. Sauces 3.5/5 I think the sauces are okay because it's slightly watered down for me. But it's still good on the tacos. Condiments 5/5 It's self serve but they're not stingy with the amount you need or want for your meal. Great selection from grilled onions and jalapeno, green and red salsa, lime, cucumber, and radish. Ambience 4/5 It's dining outside of a questionable area but there's plenty of tables and parking if it's not busy. Service 5/5 Not much to say and idk how to rate this but basically my interactions are from ordering and self pick up, and self serving my own condiments and napkins. Staff are friendly and quick with timing

DON'T EAT AT THIS PLACE!!!!…read more I used to love this place. However, the burrito I got last week ago gave me severe food poisoning. That was the only meal I had that day so I know for a fact that it was this burrito that caused the poisoning. I was out of commission for the whole week with constant vomiting and diarrhea. This place should not be serving food without a health inspection.

I love when taco spots include them; they're the perfect little addition to the tacos. The salsas were great too, especially the red salsa. It has that delicious roasted flavor that I really liked and added a nice kick to the tacos. Although... tacos are getting SO expensive these days! It's honestly crazy to think about how much tacos are going for now compared to what they used to cost. Still worth trying if you're craving some good street tacos! What I love about buying street tacos in the town - you get a little bag of pickled jalapeños/carrots (they also cut fresh carrot slices that get pickled too, it cuts the grease from the meat!) For parking, there's a small parking lot right next to the taco truck. I ended up parking in the grocery store parking lot directly across the street, which was pretty convenient too. While I was waiting, I did not expect to get rizzed up by an elderly man selling ice cream - typical day in the day.
