I bought lunch from El Alambre for the first time today. I've went on lunch time walks with coworkers to this truck a few times. Each time, the employees are friendly and quick with prepping the food orders. Every coworker has expressed how much they love the food and how fresh it tastes every time. I was sold by word of mouth (pun intended lol). I ordered a flour Quesadilla with al pastor. It comes with tortialls chips and Verde and red sauces. The red is very spicy, which I love! I was not surprised by the portion I paid for thfe price, but, it's so impressive to see. I took my food on the go and ate back at my office. I was happy with every bite and friendly service! Thanks for lunch El Alambre, see ya again soon!

When I tried birria tacos in DC where I currently live, I was thoroughly unimpressed. It wasn't bad, but I didn't get why everyone was so obsessed. I knew when I came home to California I had to try it again, and I'm so glad I found El Alambre because this changed the game for me. The quesabirria is a Friday special only with 3 tacos for $13.50. The tortillas were soooo crispy and balanced out with the tenderness of the meat and the thick layer of cheese. I loved how you could taste so much flavor in the meat and the consommé without it being overly salty. The only thing I didn't like was that the pickled onions weren't pickled long enough, so they still had that sharp raw onion flavor. It's true that the best tacos come from a truck. I can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!

3 Quesabirrias and Broth (Friday Only)

To start off, I have to say that El Alambre has been on my bookmarks for a hot minute and on my favorites on DoorDash for awhile. What caught my attention was their quesabirria tacos. It just looked so amazing! I ended up ordering some yesterday since I was really hungry coming from a hair appointment. I was too lazy to cook, so I figured I'd order a few things from El Alambre. My order consisted of: -Quesabirria tacos w/ broth (came with 3) -Alambre style taco with carne asada Feedback of items: -Quesabirria tacos with broth: when I opened the box, I was in awe. It looked like the photos on Doordash and I was stunned by how big this was. This Quesabirria taco has double the tortilla, and it was perfect. The meat was hearty and not too salty. The broth itself had aromas of cumin and it was delicious! Probably on my top list of Quesabirria tacos :) Alambre style taco: tbh I wasn't so sure what to expect but whenever a restaurant has a specific way they amp up menu items, I'm all for it. I opted to get carne asada with this and man.. this was delicious! The carne asada were cubed in chunks and the added Chile and cheese to this was amazing. I think two would have done it for me, but ever since I ate the one I got I want more!! If I had jalapeños to this, I'd be all for it. Overall, food here was great and I'll definitely have to try it fresh next time. Probably will get it again when I crave for Quesabirria tacos :')

Mulitas (one carne asada, one al pastor)

I wish I had experienced something close to the overall 4.5-star rating other Yelpers have given El Alambre. I enjoyed the fajita-esque grilled onions & bell peppers that made up the Alambre style taco, however the camarones had little flavor; the review goes downhill from here. The carne asada in our tacos & mulita was royally bad, I'm talkin' tough, low-quality meat that even the beef lovers in my group wouldn't even touch beyond the first shockingly bad bite. Carnitas & pollo tacos were middle-of-the-road (I think everyone was just relieved it was better than the carne asada.) Quesabirria tacos came three to an order & were stuffed with beef stew, but the beef lacked seasoning, & the tortillas were that maddening in-between texture where they weren't quite crispy, but not exactly soft. Not horrible enough to deserve two stars, but they are toeing that line.

I've walked by this truck 100s of times, I'm so happy I tried it! Excellent tacos, I came on a Friday so got to try their Birria. I got one of each: birria, carne asada, carnitas, and shrimp. I got all as regular except the shrimp which I got alambre style (melted cheese, bell pepper, sautéed onion). Excited to go back and try more.

One of the best birrira tacos I've had! It's it's so much meat! I can usually only put down two.

Seriously the best taco truck in SF. Friendly staff, fresh ingredients and delicious. Chips are excellent with just the right crunch and salt. My new favorite place for lunch while at work.

Friday special: Birria de res (quesabirria)

There's not many food trucks in the area near Japantown and Polk Gulch, but this is one of them! You also usually have to go farther to get quesabirria, the trendy and very-"in" cheesy, gooey, beefy and messy taco-quesadilla. It combines the word "queso" (cheese) with "birria" (a Mexican meat stew). El Alambre only has quesabirria on Fridays, so that's when I went! It's reasonably-priced given the portion size! You can find the food truck on Franklin by Geary, a little outside the CPMC Van Ness campus. I will be back to try other food items on days that are not Fridays.

Great service and great food! I've had the vegetarian burrito twice and it was delicious. Most of the time I would never go for a vegetarian burrito because I've had bad luck with vegetarian Mexican food.m, but I highly recommend this pl

Caught them today as they were closing up but they saw my puppy dog look through their closed window and did me a solid. Ordered the quessabirria tacos (on Fridays!) and got them soon after. Very friendly service. Tacos were amazing. These are getting a lot of attention around the bay but not many places have it, especially in this part of town. Super flavorful meats and cheese. Crispy fried tortilla. Warm consomme which helps on a wet afternoon. My only warning is that it can get messy eating, so make sure you have a lot of napkins. An order had 3 and I was stuffed after. Highly recommend for those in the area. I want to try their burritos since they look tasty also. But yeah.. great food, fair prices, friendly service.

Look no further! Miguel's El Alambre is the perfect taco truck for events. Lots of great things that I can rave about with them. To begin with, the food is really yummy! We've had a few guests mentioned that their carnitas was the best they've ever tasted. The quesa birria was oh so tasty as well! As far as convenience, choosing them is the way to go. You can mix and match food items to customize the menu that suits your event. Response time with communications is also on point. Miguel was super easy to talk to and he made sure that we were happy with their services. Really content that we went with them. They made the food part of our event as seamless as it can be. Can't ask for more!

The orange El Alambre truck has the best carnitas I've ever had, hands down. 100% will eat there whenever I'm at Foods Co. on Folsom.

A few people were already in there eating, and we know this place is good, as a few others in our group and I have been here multiple times. The Taqueria is typical of any other, with bench-style chairs for folks to sit on, a water station, and workers cooking it up in the kitchen. I wasn't too hungry, so I grabbed a Super Lengua Taco, while my friends grabbed burritos, we ended up grabbing 3 complimentary chips and guac/salsa with our order and the food came out pretty quickly. When I saw my Taco I forgot how much they stuffed it and wow, two of these would've filled me up just like a taco; there was so much Lengua that it kept falling off after every bite. The flavors all came together and I scruffed down the whole thing after about 6+ bites! Definitely a place to come to if you're looking for a full meal, or something to snack on!

The staff here are very friendly, but please make sure you accommodate because there is a lot of people waiting in line so I'm not saying eat your food fast and leave. This place is famous for their burritos and especially the "Dorado style," which tastes amazing -- BUT what they don't clearly disclose anywhere is that the Dorado style burrito is cooked in pork lard unless you specifically ask for it "dry" or with vegetable oil. As someone who does not eat pork for religious reasons, finding that out after already eating there was honestly really upsetting. And the frustrating part is that there is NO clear sign or disclosure telling customers this. If I never asked, I would have had no idea. I actually still like this spot and appreciate that they at least offer a dry/vegetable oil option if you ask, but customers should not have to investigate ingredients themselves to avoid pork. Jewish, Muslim, vegetarian, and other customers deserve transparency. A simple sign or note on the menu saying that Dorado style is prepared with pork lard by default would solve this issue completely. Great food, but this absolutely needs to be disclosed better. One of my all time favorite spots in general.
