This was one of the food trucks at the Sunday Presidio Pop Up on the Main Parade Lawn (across from The Walt Disney Family Museum). I've heard a lot about this eatery but never tried it. So that we could share, I ordered The Cuban Sandwich ($15.50) with Bacon Jam ($2.00): Requested no mustard and cut into thirds for sharing -Requested no mustard, but there was still mustard. -Ciabatta was soft and a greasy sponge. -Pork shoulder was very salty and greasy. -Couldn't taste the bacon jam: IMO not worth the upcharge. -Requested sandwich be cut into thirds for sharing, but I got a whole sandwich. Side notes: 1.) Actual prices were more expensive than the menu board in front of the truck (see picture): $13.50 vs. $15.00 for the sandwich and $1.50 vs. $2.00 for the Bacon Jam. 2.) Check the Presidio's website for their schedule: https://presidio.gov/explore/park-attractions/presidio-pop-up-schedule 3.) Enjoy your meal on the picnic tables or lawn. 4.) Paid parking lots: Bring coins b/c there's a surcharge for credit cards. *Verdict: This was the worst sandwich I've eaten, and it wasn't cheap. In addition, it took a while to receive our food, and they ignored our modifications. Luckily, the mustard was just a preference. If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, be careful and double check your food before eating. We ordered the bacon grilled cheese sandwiches and the bbq burrito. The grilled sandwich was pretty basic but the bbq burrito was stuffed with fries, pulled pork, bbq sauce, bacon and pork belly. Overall that bbq burrito was juicy, meaty and soooo good! Very filling and can be shared. I was so hungry I didn't get a chance to take a photo of the burrito. read more

Got food here during the beer fest this past weekend. And man it was good. I had the BEST man and cheese balls with bacon. It came with a spicy mayo for dipping. And i also got some yummy garlic fries too. The prices are very reasonable. No expensive at all. read more

Bacon Bacon! The BBQ burrito was loaded with pulled pork, pork belly, BBQ sauce, French fries, and of course, bacon. Absolutely amazing. The bacon grilled cheese was just delicious. Loved this food truck, and the views of the Golden Gate Bridge from the park added to the overall enjoyment. The burrito was on the greasy side, so be prepared, but overall the flavors were worth it. Might be my favorite food truck ever, I'll be back when I'm in the area. I heard they have a storefront somewhere too? read more

I got the double bacon cheeseburger with no cheese. I wasn't too impressed with it. The toasted bun was a little too toasted. Other than that, the secret sauce was ok. For the price, only the burger is $14.95 and you can add fries for extra $1. Not sure if I would come back to try other menu items. read more

The food truck dropped by Oyster Point today. Honestly, I'm not particularly impressed. Food is average. I got the Banh Mi and the Porky Fries. The Banh Mi was supposed to have picked vegetables, they weren't. At least not in my sandwich. It was spicy, but lacked flavor. The fries were dry, meaning the pulled pork lacked moisture. There was hardly any bacon and I didn't see any pork belly. Overall, disappointed. I guess if the fries had cheese, it would help tie everything together. Honestly I wanted to like this spot more than I did. I was super hungry at a little outdoor craft fair and this stood out from the mostly vegetarian offerings around it, so I gave it a go. Expect 12 minutes cook time if there's a line when you order. I got their double bacon cheeseburger, and while the ingredients felt high quality and very meat-forward... I felt that the flavor was lacking--even from the bacon slices! The lettuce and tomato practically disappeared in the mix, and I couldn't pick out their house sauce either. All the flavors sort of blended together into a meat and bread kind of mix. It was definitely filling, but for an $18 check (post-tip), it definitely should be. That said, I can't speak to the rest of their menu, and there looks to be some other good stuff on there. I would give this place another try just to check the other menu items out, but I'd probably avoid the burger / sandwiches. read more

The food was flavorless. I thought their food would be good because it sounded good. When I was reading the menu but nothing hat flavored. The chicken didn't even taste like chicken. I bought it home and tried to make it better and it did not work. The service was HORRIBLE. I asked her for a receipt and she refused to give me one. I asked her what was on yhe chicken sandwich and she didn't tell me anything and I just read the menu. There was no ambiance because it's was a food truck next to another of other food trucks. Bacon Bacon how could you go wrong. Yeah right,think again. Ran into my coworker at the truck and we both ordered the same sandwich. Later we compared notes. The consensus, we both felt cheated! Thin little strips of limp bacon. You know the cheapest you can buy at the store. If your going to be Bacon Bacon serve quality meat. More bread and tomatoes than anything for $15. This is to review the Bacon Bacon food truck at the Presidio's popup next to the parade grounds. For $13 for a bacon grilled cheese, and opening the container, it looked so thin. And sure, it tasted decent, but for that high of a cost for a thin sandwich? They said this was on Texas toast, known to be thicker slices of bread, but it was as thin as a sandwich slice. I would have been a happier person if they included a small scoop of fries on the side with that grilled cheese. And someone had the guts to order a bacon grilled cheese without the bacon. Yep, you got super ripped off paying full price for a plain ol' grilled cheese. read more

I discovered Bacon Bacon during my first visit to Spark Social, where I was immediately taken aback by the sheer variety of food trucks they had. Intrigued by their very (and I mean very) bacon-focused menu our group decided to give them a try, sharing an order of their bacon mac and cheese balls. The balls were coated in a well-seasoned flavorful crust and then fried until golden and crispy, making for the perfect savory bite. While I can't speak to their other offerings, if the other items on their menu is just as flavor-forward as their bacon mac and cheese balls, then I like to believe you won't be disappointed. 4.5 stars if able. The pork belly burger is amazing! Definitely a guilty-pleasure cheat meal, but worth every bite! I was worried the pieces of pork belly would be chewy or fatty, but this wasn't the case both occasions I have been (went to their spot at Spark Social). It was fried nice and crispy! If you eat the pork alone, it is a little dry. But with the aioli and creamy egg yolk, it's a perfect combination. Love the earthiness the arugula brings to balance the sandwich out. Removing half a star because their fries are not the best and have been underwhelming and slightly stale. read more

Went to baconfest in Modesto and saw the bacon bacon truck. It had a long line and being from San Francisco (grew up in the area), thought it would be a solid choice. After a little wait, they called us for our food. No utensils were provided for the fries. Fries listed mama's lil peppers and I stead came with fresh jalapeno, which was disappointing because those aren't the same at all. Breakfast burrito also missed the mama's lil peppers. My daughter liked her bbq burrito, but there was so much oil, it oozed oit the bottom of the foil and seeped into her skirt in a bright orange color. I ordered the pork belly sandwich. While the belly itself was a decent texture, it lacked flavor. The arugula added a but of freshness, but I couldn't taste the caper sauce at all. We also ordered 2 of the chocolate covered bacon. I was handed one and had to ask for the second. The receipt also reflected a higher price for the chocolate bacon than was listed on the window. I visited this truck at their spark social location for lunch and the wait was so much shorter. We were also able to order through Uber Eats and just pick up; it was ready for pickup quickly. The bacon fried chicken sandwich was huge and had two layers of fried chicken on a poppyseed bun. So good!! There are tons of picnic tables around the area where the truck is located too. read more

Definitely a food truck for bacon lovers, as it's the star ingredient in every dish and side dish here. Ordered the porky fries which comes with pork shoulder, pork belly, bacon, and some sliced red pickled peppers. For a $9 side dish it was filling and can be a dish in itself, like poutine. The pork meat was shredded and similar in texture to carnitas and pork floss. It tasted more like carnitas and has a high salt content and flavor. There was a small slathering of bacon bits on the fries, but it tasted fine and as expected. Their main entrees consist of burritos, burgers, a fried chicken sandwich, and other sandwiches (cuban, banh mi-style, BLT) between $12 to $14.50. I want to try their bacon mac and cheese balls next time. read more

First this was a ToGoodToGo order, and an example of a merchant where I really should have read the fine print. Per the merchant you would get a meal , the details of what you can get (This bag can contain whole dishes, pastries, and or side portions). In this case the order contained 3 light pastry, and a Soda. Not a horrible deal, but not what I think of as a meal. Normally an order like this is denoted as Bread / Pastry. So I will not go back via ToGoodToGo, but I did enjoy them ages ago via their food truck. I might come back to try their normal offerings again. read more

I went to the food truck at SparkSocial to grab a bahn mi for dinner. I've had this sandwich from there before and it was delicious. While into my second bite I start getting the crunch texture of like sand in my food. Or worse, I think it could be glass. I deconstruct my sandwich and can't find anything. I spit out my bite and go for another bite. The grittiness is still there. I check again and think maybe they didn't wash their cilantro well enough and it's sand from that. So I start picking around the cilantro and see a big glob of black stuff. It's soft and it's freaking mud. Straight up dirt in my sandwich. I smell it to make sure it's not something worse that looks similar, if you know what I mean. No scent so thank god I only ate dirt (sarcasm/kind of). Disgusting. I don't if it's from the unwashed cilantro or my sandwich fell on the floor or what, but that's gross. How the hell does this happen?! Not acceptable. read more

Meh. Nothing special but not awful. Just okay. We had the bacon grilled cheese and the Mac n cheese balls. It was okay, but I wouldn't do it again. The setting of the food truck is fun. I loved the bacon crusted fried chicken sandwich here! I just finished a Halloween Corgi meet up (so fun by the way) and was craving a bite for dinner before heading home. A chicken sandwich really hit the spot, and this one is seasoned it's so deliciously. The crust reminds me of a blackened fried catfish crust because of its flavor. The Leo's taco truck literally is located in San Francisco/Ocean Beach with a view of the Pacific Ocean. Leo's taco trucks are known in Southern California as THE taco truck for reasonably priced street tacos, that are beyond delicious. The experience at the San Francisco/Ocean Beach taco truck was great. For the most part it mirrors the LA experience, which is exactly what I wanted. It's like having a piece of home. Menu prices are nonexistent so there's no way to determine exactly what you're going to be charged. I ordered two Al pastor tacos, and was charged seven dollars which included tax. I really like that they always include a piece of pineapple with the Al Pastor. The tacos were absolutely yummy. The meat was flavorful, but definitely not as juicy as the LA version. Plus, they don't seem to be as generous with meat at this location as they are in LA. The talk of themselves are not the traditional small street tacos, and yet they're smaller than the traditional sized tacos. They do provide bagged condiments that include sauces and radish. I was super hesitant to try them because of some of the other reviews. Tasty tacos, and if you've ever been to Leo's, and you, in this part of the Bay Area, it's definitely worth a stop.

There were plenty of craft vendors and food vendors, organized space-wise by category: craft vendors were closer to the entrance, food vendors were farther in. My favorites from the craft side were the amount of curated clothes sellers!! Soooo many cute jackets, dresses, tops, skirts, shoes, and bags. There were also a couple music stages playing music -- I liked that they had enough space between them so the sound didn't overlap when you were trying to listen to the artist(s) at either stage. The stage in the back was more of a DJ set, playing house music, and the stage in front had live music -- they had a full band and even a group playing an Irish jig earlier in the day, which was very fun. There were plenty of alcohol stations all around -- in the back, in the front, lining the whole perimeter of the event. There was also a good variety of crafts and a solid selection of food vendors. My only wish is that there had been more sweet options because there were tons of savory options. But overall, everything was very diverse, looked great, and was interesting and unique -- you had Nepali food, Indonesian food, Indian food, Mexican food, etc. -- very ethnically diverse. Overall, I think this is a great event and opportunity to spend time with loved ones (fun for adults and families alike!), grab a bite, and support local businesses! Capelo's Barbecue: My friend and I ordered from Capelo's Barbecue's food truck. We got the 3-meat plate with beef brisket, pork ribs, and BBQ smoked chicken. First -- that line was hella long. We waited about 30 minutes (not including the wait after for the food), but it was fun since I had my friend to talk to. The layout of the menu and pricing were quite clear, so it was easy to decide what we wanted while we waited in line. Also, no dedicated seating area for the truck (night market!). The meats: beef brisket and pork ribs were an extra $2 each on the meat plate. The beef brisket was my favorite -- super smoky and so tender, almost melt-in-your-mouth, but not mushy. Just the perfect texture. Honestly, I wish it had a little more salt to add another layer of flavor besides just meat and smoke, but I still enjoyed the heck out of that brisket. The pork ribs were solid -- not the most amazing ribs I've ever had, but good flavor and texture. They weren't fall-off-the-bone tender, but they had a satisfying chew. I had to put some effort into tearin' the flesh from the bone with my teeth (as you do with ribs), and I liked that. The BBQ smoked chicken? Honestly, nothing special. It was a good, neutral option compared to the brisket and ribs, but the main flavor I picked up was black pepper. Solid chicken breast, but nothing memorable. Even the skin was meh. For the sides, we chose the baked beans and mac and cheese. The baked beans were wonderfully sweet and savory -- they paired perfectly with the BBQ. The mac and cheese was good and worked well with everything, but it wasn't particularly special on its own. Altogether, I think we paid around $32 for the plate. If I hadn't been splitting it with another person, honestly, I don't know if it would've been worth it -- but it was good in the moment. Quite tasty overall.
