My wife and I visited quite late on a Friday night. We spoke extensively with the owner and the owner's friend throughout our visit. We were so impressed with the ethos of the business and the attitudes of both men. This, all before we gush about the food. Everything we were served was simply outstanding, from vegetarian appetizers to spicy beef ramen to cheesecake bite desserts. Despite the almost 1 hour drive each way, I suspect that Kokoro will become a regular pilgrimage for us. This is the kind of restaurant we want to support. If you like ramen or Asian fusion, you just have to give it a try, but I warn you, you will likely become a regular. read more

Another new place in State College, PA! Perfect for a cold day. With tip and everything I paid around $30 and the service was awesome. The workers are super nice and will accommodate to many needs. The food was good with more options coming! There is street parking as well as lot parking in the area. It is also a super easy place to walk to from campus! This place is great! I'm new to Ramen but my friend heard about this place and we decided to try it out. The food is great and the drinks of teas and sodas are super cheap. I got the beef Ramen and it tasted amazing. It was super filling and I took the rest home in a to-go box. The owner is super nice and will ask what kinds of things you like and bring out free appetizers (my friend and I got a small serving of shrimp tempora and gyoza, both of which were great). Ready Great Service! I came here to eat ramen with my bf. He didn't wanna go to Tadashi since he already tried it so we gave this spot a chance since the menu had a lot of choice. The food was really good and my bf said he preferred it over other ramen spots in Downtown State College. Both Ramen bowls had good servings and taste. The spring roll was my favorite and the sauce was great ! The reason why i'm doing this review is because of the kind service of the owner. My bf ordered dumplings as his appetizer however the owner decided to give us gyozas since there weren't any dumplings ready. He didn't want us to wait for the food so he gave us gyozas for FREE. Later on he gave us the dumplings we ordered and explained to us that he had to make it by hand and would take a long time. Again, really nice service and so thoughtful of the owner for giving us an appetizer for free so we didn't have to wait to eat our ramen. Highly recommended this place ! read more

And I mean to say the extent that it was not edible. The noodles were soggy, the broth was bland with a sour taste, and the meat was not what was in the photo. we heard this place had good ramen and decided to meet there with a few friends. as we were checking out the menu outside a waiter greeted us and asked if we had any questions about the menu and we replied no, just trying to decide on what dish we would be having. after being seated we ordered some appetizers and were suggested to try the beef ramen when we just couldn't decide . all varieties sounded amazing and can't wait to go back to try another . the beef briscuit was just finished smoking and paired with the noodles and some of the best broth i've had in a long time, we were all blown away by the meal. waitstaff and owner were very friendly and talkative about the business and upcoming plans for the restaurant and menu. I was also taken back by the cleanliness of the place and ambiance with the doors open - outdoor seating was also available but decided to sit inside. I've had ramen in many large cities, and this place rivals them all. I had the beef ramen, and the brisket was cooked to perfection. The broth was the perfect level of heat, and the noodles were just right. The server and the chef/ owner were incredibly friendly. Our server even brought out a free dessert for our daughter who had just graduated. We live about an hour away, and I would gladly drive that distance to have this ramen again. While visiting State College for a conference, my husband and I wanted to try some local food, which is our favorite thing to do when we travel. We decided to go to this place since there were very few options after 9pm. We also saw that it was 4.8 stars, which was a plus, and the deciding factor on where to eat. When we came inside, we were greeted and immediately seated. For appetizers, we ordered the Japanese cucumbers and the avocado Kokoro. For our main course, I ordered the steak and shrimp ramen, and my husband (who's on a no bread kick), ordered the roasted chicken ramen but did not want the rice or noodles. They were able to accommodate him with extra lettuce and he doubled the meat in order. THE FOOD WAS AMAZING!!!! Everything was so delicious and great portion sizes. I couldn't finish my ramen so I took it back to the hotel. I heated my ramen up the next day and it was even better than the night before!! This will definitely be a place we revisit again. Great service, great food, and awesome staff. We had a great conversation with the owner and his attentiveness and enthusiasm really sealed the deal. read more
