I'm Cuckoo for Kokee Tea! That very well might have been the worst way to start a review of Kokee Tea lol, but after consuming a rather disappointing pretzel from nearby Wetzel's Pretzels, I needed something cold to battle this South Texas heat. Enter Sonny! No, I mean Kokee Tea! lol Just like Wetzel's Pretzels, Kokee Tea is situated in a small little shack in the middle of the walkways at The Shops at La Cantera. On the exterior, there are photos of their menu offerings ranging from milk teas to ice blended drinks. For the ice blended drinks, they offer slushies, which are water-based, and smoothies, which are milk-based. There's usually a line here, but the service is pretty fast. Even in the midst of a heat wave, don't let the long line deter you, or better yet, save the cold drink when you pass by the boba shop another time. While you can see the menu offerings outside, they don't list prices. In fact, you can't see the prices until you walk up to the order counter, and even so, I actually couldn't even find the smoothies section of the menu, so for a few seconds, I almost thought that the smoothies I initially saw were no longer offered. I asked the cashier (Maddox?) about it, and he confirmed they still offer those drinks. They were just in the ice-blended section, and the word "smoothie" had a pretty small font size. Hopefully, they will listen to my suggestions on how to better improve the look of their menu, both inside and outside. I had my eyes set on the Oreo Smoothie only because earlier this year, when I was back home in SoCal, I was in a really bad mood one day. I went to a boba shop and ordered a cookies & cream smoothie with crystal boba. The smoothie instantly made my day and gave me enough energy to power through the day sans catnap. I ordered pretty much the exact same smoothie, crystal boba included. After paying, the receipt had my order number on top, so there was no need for buzzers. It took a couple of minutes before my order number was called out, and the bobarista handed me my drink. I had to grab a boba straw on the counter before enjoying the smoothie. The smoothie was cold and tasty. However, the flavor didn't come out as strong compared to the one I had in SoCal. I literally inhaled it, but not necessarily because I enjoyed it that much. Rather, I was trying to cool myself off after walking around the outdoor shopping center for quite some time. I was hoping to get the flavor rush that my taste buds desired, but it never happened, unfortunately. That's not to say the smoothie was bad. It was good, but definitely not 5 star good by any means. At least the crystal boba was QQ, but it wouldn't be enough to bump my rating up to 5 stars. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the smoothie well enough to recommend Kokee Tea for your Bubble Tea needs!

Extensive selection of teas and smoothies! I love the location too. I had the taro coconut milk bubble tee and my sister had Dream of Butterfly which is like a magic lemonade taste!
Tried them today. Nada Elseifi was nice and friendly. Purple love with honey boba was good. I felt like the boba could be a bit better. 4.5/5 House Milk Tea with honey boba was ok. You can feel the tea in it but didn't really enjoy it. 3/5 May try some more flavors the next time I get a chance.
WOW, I mean wow!!!! I'm so surprised that a boba place in the mall can be the best milk tea I've had in San Antonio! San Antonio is severely lacking in its boba options. There aren't very many places where you can customize your drinks! This place beats a lot of boba chains like Kung Fu Tea! It's similar to Sharetea and other quality chains! You can customize sweetness level and ice levels. They also have sooo many options, and they all sound super tasty. I got my usual (jasmine milk tea)! They have honey boba but didn't have it when I was there. I'm guessing cause they're still new? They also have so many milk options, like organic and almond! I love that they don't use that powder creamer crap! Also the most important part is the tea is perfect! They have special machines brewing and dispensing tea! The flavor of the teas are on point and strong! Not that weak fake stuff at some boba places! Definitely try this place out, it's worth the trip to La Cantera mall! It's in one of those booth/stalls in between shops. It's close to forever21 and the food court area! I can't wait to go back and try one of their speciality drinks! They have some many cool options!
Was strolling around La Cantera on a hot December day and decided to have a little boba tea. My Mom and I shared the Taro tea since we never tried it before. We added the little black beads and we happy to find out that we can also customize the sweetness level since we don't like anything too sweet. The drink took about 7 minutes to be prepared and was a pretty purple color, with earthy flavor and not too sweet. It did have quite a bit of ice in it, so I didn't think that $7 was a good value for what we got, but it was definitely delicious...good as an occasional treat
Strawberry milk tea and the house milk tea with earl grey- both with honey boba- I preferred the house milk as it wasn't as sweet as the strawberry. The boba here is excellent. Tender with a nice chew.
Refreshing, especially on a hot Texas afternoon. Former coffee shop and specialty tea shop barista here! I haven't been the biggest fan of Kokee in the past, but decided to stop by this location as I'd never tried this location before and it was just too hot out. I ordered a simple House Milk Tea without boba. When I placed my order I'd made sure to specify 'no boba,' but the barista had to ask me twice rather confusedly in the short duration of her inputting the order if I wanted boba, admitting she'd forgotten. I'd ordered one item and was the only customer in line at that time so I'm not sure why my declining boba was so difficult to remember. Regardless, the tea was out fast and was indeed refreshing; the black tea was fragrant in flavor and the drink wasn't watered down by ice. If you're out for some shopping at La Cantera I could recommend stopping by if you're in the mood for boba tea. However, I'd double check your receipt to make sure the baristas got your order right just in case. read more

It's nice having a boba option while shopping. Decided to give Kokee Tea a try. They advertise as having all natural cane sugar in their teas and natural ingredients. They offer a variety of milk teas, matcha, fruit teas, ice blends, and cold brew mixes. We got the coffee milk tea, brown sugar cold brew, and the honey milk tea. All our drinks tasted watered down---I would describe it as drinking milk & water. Barely tasted any coffee or tea. Couldn't finish my drink. Will have to give them another chance with other drinks (maybe), but for now Kokee Tea did not satisfy my boba craving. Pretty disappointed. read more

The taro smoothie flavor was good but the boba had zero flavor. They need to do a better job of flavoring the boba otherwise what is the point. read more

We love boba....but....While my drink, Peach Green Tea with mango jellies was AMAZING my Daughter dumped a full Oreo Milk Tea with Boba she said it was horrible. The Boba ruined the entire drink. If we return it's likely we will stick with the green teas and jellies and skip the boba here. read more

First time visit! In a word... ugh. I was drawn to this little shack because there was a long line and I was craving an after-meal milk tea boba drink. Have never heard of the place before, but must be real popular for good reason! So there is justtNone register going and maybe 3 girls total working on drinks. They're a mess. The orders are slow in being taken because the cashier is also helping prepare drinks. She is very unprofessional, no smile, no greeting, no eye contact. If you need an ago boost, acknowledgment that you are alive, forget about it. LOL! The order are coming out slowly and in the wrong order. How do you go from Number 18 to Number 13, then back up again??? Smh. My Kokee Milk Tea was thin, could've been made with skim milk for all I know, and waaaaay too sweet. I'd like to consider myself a tea connoisseur of the milkier persuasion and this place was a disappointment. Some other observations: one size of drink only, no food that I could see, the straws are hell to remove from their plastic sleeves and the most popular drink is the Purple Love. Not sure what the Purple Love is, but they were leaving the pick-up window like angry hornets from the hive. Ha! I make myself laugh. Hehe. Check out my photos for menu items. read more
The drinks were okay. I got the taro drink, and my husband got the honey milk tea. I feel like the drinks have potential to be better, maybe next time. Also the cashier was very unprofessional and was not very knowledgeable about the menu. I asked about the different milk options they offer, and she could not tell me. They were very slow and inefficient. I would not recommend this place especially with the poor customer service. read more
