I ate the food before I thought to take a picture... Somehow, the caliber of their food has gone up! I ordered the hotdog special. The fries, perfect! Hot, fresh, perfectly salted, and whatever grease they're using, delicious! The hot dogs came in this Styrofoam container. I'm not a fan of Styrofoam, but the presentation was great! And best of all, the guy is still there! He's awesome! Kojak's has always been a staple in the area and I'm glad to see that it's worthy of being one. read more

Blew my socks off tonight... the best gyro dinner/plate that I've had in a long time!!!!! A pita with a good bakery quality freshness! Best of all, the gyro meat was generously portioned!!!!! Just wanted to give a shot out to my old stomping grounds good old burbank and my favorite place to eat when im here. Kojaks! My experience has always been delightful but this last time worse customer service . The girl and the counter looks like she is high-school constantly on her phone or sitting in back. When i walked in she gives me a look like i don't belong there and then walks away. The other woman very professional and amazing multi tasker and great customer service. She took my order while doing other things and very polite on the phone while still taking care of her drive thru. I also noticed when other customers come thru she is very pushy like her phone is more important than the customers. Very sad to see how some business allow such poor service. I've been to Kojacks a few times in my life. It's a staple of the Burbank community for many years. It's basically your local hot dog / burger place (and other stuff). They've updated this place alot over the years. It's consistently busy. Drive thru is always packed which can make it an issue to park and parking is already tight. Ordering can be really tough too. Prices are high but at least they're transparent with their customers. The food here is worth the money and the wait but the lady manning the front dealing with multi tasking deserves a raise! read more

I like this place because its a decent mom and pop resturant and their hotdogs and pizza puffs are good. One MAJOR complaint- They NEVER wear their masks over their mouth or nose. Since the pandemic not once. I have continued to go back and overlook it but just now I picked up food from the window and the woman who is always there of course did NOT have a mask covering her face and proceeded to COUGH into her hand (no gloves either) and then grab a flyer with the same hand and put it in my bag! I couldn't believe it. I drove off and threw away my food. I should have said something. Beware of this place! read more

Kojak Drive-In is a small diner located off of 79th street in Burbank. There's a few tables set up on the inside and a long counter to order. While not particularly clean, it's not too messy on the inside. It's more or less a fairly typical older Chicago-style fast food eatery. In visiting Kojak's I decided to try the hot dog, though I had a serious temptation to try their Big baby cheeseburger. In any event I'll go over the hot dog. The hot dog I received came on a regular non-poppy seed bun. The pickle on the hot dog was thicker than I would like. There was only one slice of tomato covering roughly half the hot dog. There were no hot peppers on the dog. the application of mustard and relish was a bit heavy. The sausage itself was skinless but didn't taste very good, it either wasn't properly heated or wasn't a particularly good brand. I couldn't easily identify the vendor of the dog itself. There were also fries with this hot dog. They were fairly decent tasting though a bit greasy. On this particular trip of hot dog places I had a friend with me who felt whatever grease they cooked it in had a strange taste. I noticed an aftertaste from the fries but nothing that was an unpleasant flavor. Overall, this was a poor quality hot dog. The frank itself wasn't good tasting, it was assembled rather sloppily and just didn't taste good. The fries didn't do it any favor. If I weren't going to do hot dog reviews I would have tried the big baby. Maybe some day I will. But overall I'm going to give this one star and recommend avoiding the hot dogs. read more

I went in here and spent almost $40 on family for dinner, normally excellent service the day in question not so much. I live in Thornton Illinois which is a solid 40 minute drive 1 way, I love their pizza puffs. I got 2 pizza puffs, My wife wanted a cheeseburger special and chili tamale. My kid a hot dog special. A friend whom with us also a chzburger special. Get everything home and my wife is like you didn't get me a chili tamale? I'm like I sure did! She said well they forgot it. I call them to let them know, didn't wanna jump in car and travel all the way back for the proper item. Guys like do what do you want me to do? I've been here many times but recently it's not the same. Hot dog's are great but would never order a grilled chicken salad again, it's $5.99 and throw a small piece of char grill chicken over 1/4 head of lettuce w/2 peices of tomatoes. Went there to go buy my man a gyro, and it was so small, that a 10 year old could eat it, that WAS his favorite spot to get a gyro but since tonight we will not be buying food from there anymore!!! I remember when when they're gyros were huge, wtf happened, to top it all off, you ask for extra, extra sauce on side (which means two) and they give you ONE...wtf...Pauly (the owner) why you getting so damn cheap!!!! No bueno!!!! And what's up with the guy that's been working there for YEARS?!!! I'm kinda worried bout him! He looks like he's coked out or drunk while working! if i could give them 0 stars i would. i ordered food last night form this place: a pizza puff, and two hot dogs w fries. the food was trash and was cold to the touch. i woke up vomiting the next morning from the food being undercooked and was bedridden ALL day. when i asked for a refund, they refused to refund my order until i asked for a manager- in which they didn't even refund my WHOLE order and on top of that accused me of lying about getting sick from the food. the customer is ALWAYSSSS right. and the dude who gave me a "refund" rolled his eyes multiple times and claims NOBODY has ever had a problem with their dog food okay that's why your business is DEAD on a Saturday night? read more

Great local spot, I have been coming here since highschool. Some of their food is a bit on the greasy side, but pretty sure people expect that coming into a fast food place. The burgers and hot dogs are just ok. The gyros are really good though. The inside definitely needs some work. Very outdated and tables definitely need to be cleaned more often. I see bad reviews for here but I did not think it was all that bad, in fact, the gyros were quite tasty and had that glistening shine to them like you would see with typical juicy, well made gyros. The gyro is not very big, but hey, it should be about quality not quantity unless you are 400 pounds. Gyros are nasty as a left over anyway, so do you really need all that extra meat? You know you will not eat all of it on the spot. I am a big eater, and I mean that, but I got plenty full from the gyro and fries. read more

The gyro was pretty small, tasted undercooked, was sliced very chunky, and didn't have very good flavor. There's a lot of other good gyro places to go instead. You go to this place to count on a few things...a really good price for salty greasy food...and that is a good thing. Whenever I am back in my hometown, I always try to hit this place up. Not much has changed about it over the last 30 years, and that is what is so great. You can always count on a local collection plea on the counter, cracked tiles, and the cashier yelling your order to the cook, even though they are 3 feet apart. The gyros are always good here. The meat was nice and tender. Very tasty. It could have used a little more sauce though. The fries are hit or miss. They were a little bit greasy this time. Although I was there at 10 O'clock for lunch. I'm sure they were hanging around for a bit. The dogs are really good. I have had the burger once, and it was o.k.
