I ran into this Kohl's to see their end of the season clearance deals. Kohl's is always clean and well organized and they have nice clothes and selection. The store was rather empty and they only had one to check out lane open on each end of the store. The problem with Kohl's is that they are just too expensive and I think a lot of things are overpriced because they know that most of the people that shop there just use Kohl's cash to get the item down to more of a reasonable price. They had a clearance sale with items already marked off and then another 50% off, which would bring most items down to 85% off. A woman next to me had brought a particular clothing item up to the cash register, and the worker had said that certain items don't apply because of their brand. Well, that brand was what filled the clearance section so in reality 90% of the items really weren't getting the extra 50% off. Also, when I looked in the children's section, they have cute clothes, but yet again they are overly expensive. They have a shelf of clothes that are similar to Walmart where it's T-shirts and bottoms for a toddler. But even at their price, it's double the amount of Walmart. So if you want quality clothing and don't mind paying more and have your Kohl's cash then it would be a good place. But for me, I just know other stores that have better pricing. read more

I ordered an 8 ft.X10 ft. "Garland Rug Medallion Rug" (area rug) and it came crumpled up in a square shaped box so small that upon opening the box, it burst apart! The folded rug arrived with many creases and wrinkles. It is ruined and Kohl's took it back; however, Kohl's could not guarantee their replacement order would be in good condition because it was packaged by the manufacturer, Medallion/Garland. Why is Kohl's selling products that are poorly shipped to their customers? This is terrible customer service! Why should the consumer waste their time and money with a popular store that cannot offer good quality merchandise purchased on-line and shipped to our homes? What a disappointment... read more

Came in the pick up an online order, of a limited color dutch oven that I needed today to help with my micro bakery at home and they lost it, not to mention its not even sold anymore so I can't reorder it. How they have pick up set up in the middle of the store for any customer to walk by and take whatever they want... so unreal. Then I mentioned that I need this dutch oven today did nothing to help. Gave me a $10 kohls cash that doesn't even start till next week. A limited color dutch oven just gone and cant buy a new one. Beware of this location. This Kohl's is lacking in customer service. They will charge you the incorrect price on items and not even acknowledge their mistakes. I wonder how many people have walked out being charged more for a smaller item. This is crazy! read more

I usually don't stop at this Kohls, but maybe I will make the drive more often.. I happened to be in the area black friday shopping, and trying to figure out sizing.. Ashley who is with Kohls staff came over and asked how we were doing,, I think she could tell I was trying trying to figure out sizing.. You just don't see customer service like this anymore.. Most the time you can't even find someone to help.. I and my daughter have been shopping here for years. Really enjoy the service and politeness every time we go there. A few days ago went in for a few things and ran into a girl that works there and has helped us over the years. She does all the displays for the store, she is great at her job and then some. That day she was helping a lady which I don't think is her job but she is always helping out we're she can. But as she was helping this customer the customer for some reason yelled at her so loudly that the whole store could hear, and the manager walked by and did nothing, yes the manager did nothing!!!! Kohl's - Department Stores Near Me - SHAWNEE, Kansas

I LOVE this place. It's my go-to place for clothes. I know they sell other stuff, like shoes and small appliances, but those things are often over-priced (in my frugal opinion), whereas their clothes are an awesome deal! Off the bat, I will say that I hate the way Kohl's prices their items. They put this imaginary price on the tags, and then place a sign above the items saying, "40% off!" Okay, 40% off of your inflated price brings it right down about to normal-land. Their normal, or "sale" prices if you want to call them that, are really good, especially in the juniors department. It is strange, though, that once you hop to Misses (regular ladies sizes, instead of teenagers), the prices almost double. Seriously, I bought a really nice sweater recently in the juniors department for less than $20, but found a similarly styled one in the misses department that was almost $40. I do have a Kohl's credit card, and I receive coupons in the mail every month, for 15%, 20% or 30% off my total purchase. The amazing thing is that this is off everything, even sale and clearance items. I try to only shop when I get that 30% off coupon (it's my way of keeping myself from shopping all the time), and I often cruise the clearance racks, where the best deals can be found. Their return policy is simply amazing. You hear the commercials all the time about how returning things at Kohl's is hassle-free, and it truly is! I recently had to return a purse that I bought online, because the exterior pockets were beginning to separate from the purse. I had carried it for more than a month, and its white exterior was definitely marred, but they had no problem giving me my money back, despite the lack of tags and the obvious wear on it. The clerk understood that it should not fall apart after just a month of use, and gave me no hassle at all. She found my order on her computer and promptly refunded me. I have also bought several pairs of jeans for my husband - who refuses to shop and buy his own clothes - and brought back the ones he hated without any trouble at all. I have not needed much help when shopping here, but every employee I've encountered is very friendly. I will definitely be shopping here for all my clothing needs! read more

This place is not my taste at all, but they send me coupons for $10 worth of free stuff constantly so I go in to find some junk I usually donate or use for Christmas presents. I don't trust stores like this that everything is always on sale. It's definitely more than I'd ever spend - especially at full price. read more

Y'all know, people do still shop for things after the holidays. :) The store wasn't as wrecked as I've seen it in the past (even on non-holiday times), and the employee at the check out was friendly. The ones working on the floor were okay, but it was hard to find someone to help you. It seemed like that they had a large selection, but only one or two of an item, and when that's in shoes, that is tough. Having only one pair of size 6 and one pair of size 8.5 is a bit too little (and no other sizes), in my opinion. Make sure you wait until they are giving out Kohl's Cash; then use it as soon as you can. I have been shopping here since I can remember. The store has had a great management for most of what I can remember. Overall the store is clean and organized. They have a good selection and usually can find what I need in the correct size here. The employees are friendly, and I have never had any issues here. The parking lot is huge which is an added benefit. read more

Disappearing diamond wedding rings at Kohl's!!?? My fiance and I are getting ready for our wedding in June 2012 and have had a horrible experience with Kohl's. We purchased the first ring at the Shawnee Mission store's Kohl's kiosk in October and brought it in the Shawnee Mission store to be re-sized in January. They called to let us know it's in and we go to pick it up and it's no where to be found. We were so upset and puzzled about how a store can 'misplace' a diamond ring??? We ordered another ring, because they promised this doesn't ever happened and gave an even better offer than we had before. We choose to use a different store and decided to drop it off at the the Metro North store because for sure, this can't happen again, right?!? After waiting for it to come back from getting re-sized, guess what happens? They lose it again! This time, we want some answers. They're not giving us any answers and while they are offering an even deeper discount, it's still not enough. I know wedding planning can be stressful and it's not roses and cake all the time. But we feel violated and I, especially feel robbed of the experience of loving my ring and looking forward to having it on my finger for the rest of life. read more

Kohl's has a little bit of everything, and most all of it is good quality items. The staff at this location is always courteous and helpful so they get more than three stars. What gets the store three stars versus more is that it can be a bit of a confusing search mission for what you want, especially when it comes to men's clothes. They're in the middle of the store, along the front wall, and down the right wall. It seems to be the same for the ladies clothes. If the different sections were of the same attire, it would be fine, but you can find many like items in all three sections. Then you have to look at the price tag and then find the little video screen to see what the actual price is. Is everything in Kohl's perpetually on sale? Don't get me wrong, I like sales and saving money, but if it's all the time, just reduce the price so I don't have to search for the actual one. In the end, I like the staff, the sales, the Kohl's cash, and the discounts they send you. So, I'll be back. Just organize some of the sections better and I'll be happy to move my rating up. read more

As a whole I like Kohl's. Over the years, I've found some great bargains in everything from electronics to clothes to shoes to household items. I've bought tons of shoes from them over the years and most of the time I stick to shoes, because I can find shoes anywhere because I wear the perfect size. Clothes on the other hand are another story. I have lost a lot of weight recently and went there searching for a new business suit. I am still in plus sizes and found NONE (even though I had found suits there in those sizes before) I thought maybe I was in the wrong section since the store had recently undergone a change and had moved departments around. I found a salesperson and she said, "Women don't really wear suits anymore!" and "You'd be better off going to Penney's or Sears." (It should be noted here they had plenty of suits in the misses sizes.) I told her "First off women do wear suits, as I am a Paralegal and needed this not only for a job interview, but for my job and second I had already been to both of those other stores and Sears had none at all and Penney's said I had to order one online." (This was last minute as I needed it for the next day.) I told her I like to try them on, and Penney's told me if it didn't fit/I didn't like it would be at my expense to ship it back to them. This store was a nightmare. Nothing was organized and clothes and sizes were all over the place. I understand the sales racks not being organized, but pants and jeans on racks were all strewn about. I didn't see a single thing that was organized properly. It was awful. As well as overwhelming and stressful. I was looking for simple khaki pants, a tall size, and could find absolutely nothing. I stop by every so often when I am looking for something in particular. This store has friendly staff, is well organized and is never extremely busy. I personally enjoy the diverse styles of clothing available as well as colors, and even seasons, at all times. read more
