$79.00 for Birkenstocks. Everywhere else they are $119.00. I wanted to replace my old wornout Birkenstocks. Not only do they have the same Birkenstocks, but they have the one with the 6 straps, within the 2 buckle enclosure. Those are called Granadas. Great mix of shoes, and the clearance aisles are also worth looking at. They carry Bandolinos, BORN, Clarks, Sketchers, and tons of billions of other shoes. They even have fake socks to place on, if you happen to not be wearing socks, or need to wear hose with the shoes. I find their selection pretty good. The BORN are a bit narrow for me, cause it's the BOC Born style. They carry socks, but I think the socks there are a bit pricey, for socks, that is. Definitely worth checking out this store. The most unprofessional managers that I have seen. The older lady that limps around, is so rude, and should never be customer facing. She demeans the customers and gets an attitude when you ask her for help. The african american lady does nothing but wonder around on the salesfloor, and avoids all contact with customers. If you ask her a question she gets an attitude and walks into the back. Cory and TJ are the only reason that I shop at this location. If I don't see them there I leave and shop elsewhere. read more

I visited DSW on Saturday September 24 to exchange a pair of shoes that I purchased a week prior I immediately got in the long line and waited 15-20 minutes. I am just getting back into stores after having beat cancer and now finally off chemo for 3 months. I am still battling some other effects of chemo so I'm very limited on shoes that i can wear that don't expose my feet or hurt my feet. I am dealing with some physical pains and standing for long periods is hard. additionally after having had a recent double mastectomy surgery. im saying all of this to say watch how you treat your guests because you don't know what they are going through. your cashier Joe didn't know and could care less. After having stood in line he took my name acting uncertain that he could even do an exchange at first. however I was certain I could get that. I spent another 30 minutes searching for a different pair after leaving the shoes purchased the prior week with Joe. I got back in line again but the line was now back to kids shoes almost so I decided to approach Joe since he was holding the shoes with my name tagged to them after my first wait. I asked joe if I needed to stand in line again and he said to be "fair to others yes." I said I already stood in line and you have my shoes and I then asked again and this time he loudly almost yelling with attitude YES! as if he had to prove himself to those in front of him. I walked away annoyed. the manager came by me and I tried to explain that I stood in line already and he just looked at me and kept walking. somehow I feel that because I'm a black female I got less treatment. I say this because I was lucky enough to get Joe again by the time I got to check out. he didn't ask if I found a pair or anything in fact he gave me no eye contact and didn't even say thank you for the exchange whichI had paid additional monies for. I'm so tired of being discriminated against because of my skin color and if someone had a heart at DSW Lees Summit to care they would have learned that I was dealing with other physical pains as well and could have been treated respectfully. coming to DSW is a choice. read more

I went to this location in Lee's Summit for a replacement pair of Birkenstock sandals. This store is huge, i've never seen so many pair of shoes or other foot ware in my life! They had the Birkies in stock (brown leather Arizona) and I was in and out in a matter if minutes. The help here is good, the prices, for birlkies are excellent. I haven't been in shoe stores to judge this one but, so I'll give it a solid 3, leaning to a 4. read more

Store was not busy, AC was off and it was hot and humid (shoe boxes were even damp) Cashier was standing next to fan, lucky her. I was the only customer in any line when she informed me that I was in the wrong line (return line) I looked over at the check out line only a reach away, no one behind that counter... she then said that she could do both returns and purchases, lucky me? Made me feel stupid and wishing to just drop the box of shoes I had spent 45min looking for while sweating. Later I found out that Penny's had the same shoe for $10.00 less. Great staff. Well trained friendly and helpful. They had the right shoe for my wife but not in her size. We woukd shop here again.

Full disclosure...I am not, in fact, Carrie Bradshaw. I like shoes, fine, but I don't get all gushy about shoe stores. That said, this place is okay by me. I went recently to replace worn out running shoes, and was initially bummed by the fact that very, very few of the styles they had in stock were available in my not-incredibly-rare size. But I did find a pair I liked. The girl who rang me up was helpful and cheerful, and helped me with a coupon question I had. Unfortunately, she did forget to remove the anti-theft tag, a fact I didn't notice until arriving at home. I went back the next day, and the store manager discounted me five dollars because I'd had to come back...now I live near the store, and going back wasn't a huge deal for me, but it was a nice and professional gesture. Five bucks cash, too, not store credit or a coupon or similar. He was also very pleasant. Good customer service. read more

One of the bigger stores and love their selections of shoes and purses. They change inventory quickly and stuff is always pleasant to help. Cashier flow is OK, but didn't have the best experience there due to a particular cashier who did not seem interested in helping or answering questions. Definitely would go back to browse their selections. read more
