I first had to do an Amazon return. No one was at the desk, I waited a few minutes. There was a printer in the corner popping out Amazon labels so I assumed someone would be back. A few minutes later an associate comes out of the bathroom, goes behind the desk to the corner by the printer and starts tearing off the labels. I walk up to the desk, in case she didn't see me, because I wasn't greeted or addressed. And she says " I'm over here." Which is extremely rude. How about saying hello I can help you over here. I didn't say anything, I gave her the returns. After she gave me the return slip I walked away and she snarkily said thank you. As if I was supposed to thank her even though her only attempt at talking to me was to say I'm over here. Sydney is very rude. 1) if she had to use the bathroom she should have told a manager to get coverage 2) you greet your customers. I said hello, she said nothing. 3) not saying have a nice day is fine by me, but don't give your customers an attitude when they walk away. Had she not been so nasty at the end I wouldn't have bothered to leave this review. I know not much is going to be done to reprimand her, but it was an awful experience so I'm giving an awful review. Do better Sydney, or get a different job. You don't belong working with the public. read more

I used this credit card occasionally for the discounts. Didn't like to shop here because the stores are always a disaster mess, dressing rooms piled with unattended stacks of clothes and they never had associates to help with questions. 4 3.5 years ago I didn't receive a bill statement and I was busy w work and graduations and didn't notice. Next month I received a 30 day late bill, called a very rude "customer service" (not) person, sent a check that day for full credit amount. They trashed my credit immediately with all 3 credit bureaus for a 30-day late, pretty sad. I've contested every year since and still **negative** report. In 31 YEARS this is the only negative report EVER . I always pay our cards in full. This is the WORST company. Do not be lured in with their discounts. They are totally not worth it. Go to Macy's or shop Amazon. Scrappy, low class, not worth your time. They can't even give fair service. read more

I was stopped from entering the fitting room to try on a single item 20 minutes before the posted closing time. Closed the store 10 minutes before the posted closing time. As a former Kohls associate and avid Kohls shopper, this Kohls location has the worst customer service around. read more

I'm so thankful that kohl's partnered up with amazon in order to become a convenient place to return your online purchases, it's way more convenient then having to repackage your items and schlep to a post office or UPS store to return them. The downside is that you have to walk all the way to the back of the store passing all their merchandise and knowing me eyeing all the possible items that I'll end up buying and not to mention they have a small section of levi which is my temptation to always buy. Also they need to hire more employees at the check out stations because the lines are almost always super long. However the upside is that they always offer discounts towards future kohl's purchases. read more

This is the worst store I have ever been too. First they never have enough registers open and the lines are long. Second I dont think the associates ever put anything back where they are suppose to go. Went looking for pants and none of the sizes were in the right place. To be honest Louisiana looked better than this place after Hurricane Katrina. Its like the newburgh natives come in there and destroy it. If you can avoid this store at all cost. On May 15, I went to my local Kohls in Newburgh, NY to buy a new suit jacket and pants for a funeral.  I arrived there just before 8:30pm and had the worst shopping experience of my life in that store. Just as I start shopping in the Men's department, a work crew comes in and starts ripping and peeling the merchandising wallpaper off the walls. That was annoying and noisy but not a terrible inconvenience.  I found a few items that I wanted to try on, so I went into the fitting room in the Men's department to find that the work crew was using that fitting room as a staging area.  Their tools littered the floor, merchandising signs were stacked in the doorway, and their crews' case of water was in the middle of the area in front of the dressing rooms.  Aside from the obvious construction debris, the dressing rooms themselves were filthy - clothes strewn all over, dirt and dust all over the floor. It was obvious that no one had cleaned in there in quite a while. It was getting late so I tried on a few items and came out of the fitting room to show my wife, now wearing dress shoes that I had brought along with me. I slipped on the way out because the work crew had now taped plastic to rug since I had gone in to the dressing room.  There were Kohl's shopping carts in the isles being used to carry the work crew's tools and now tools on the floor in the aisle. The last staw was when the work crew started using a spray can.  I don't know what kind of remover/solvent was in that can but the fumes were giving me a headache.  At that point I just took what I had to checkout and asked to speak to a manager.  I explained what was going on to the person on duty - Amy - and I also asked her for Kohl's corporate number. Amy did go to the men's department to verify what I was saying and did in fact find the spray can that the workers were using.  I took a few pictures before I left so that you can see I'm not exaggerating. I was shopping in the store starting at 8:30pm and checked out at 9:30pm - those are normal business hours - the store does not close until 10pm.  If Kohl's is going to be remodeling - they should do it after hours.  Otherwise, put up signs, rope off the area, etc...  If I would have known that situation was going on in the men's department I would have gone to Macy's instead. I called Kohl's corporate number on May 17 to inform them of the problem.  The representative that I spoke with said that the manager of that store needed to be re-trained if they let something like that go on during business hours.  She gave me a case number and assured me that the district manager would contact me directly to discuss my experience.  Well, it been almost a month since my call to corporate and I've never been contacted by anyone from Kohl's. The impression that I'm left with is that Kohls just wants to make those in-store sales and doesn't care at all about their customers. My wife an I will never shop at the Newburgh, NY store again and I suggest that you avoid it as well. read more

I am not usually critical of those working with the public especially now in these trying times as I do myself have face to face interaction each day with customers. That being said, the employees of this particular store, even prior to the health issue are obnoxious to customers. I frequent Kohls quite often at other locations and have never been treated the way these employees treat people. You ask a question of an associate and get an attitude or an eye roll and a usually it's not my department or I have no idea. You'd be better off going to Harriman, Poughkeepsie, or Middletown or skipping Kohls altogether in favor of the many other options available. read more

Had a horrible experience at kohl's Newburgh today August 5 2019 at 11:39 am. On the show side registers. Now why do register lady's have to start talking to customers like they wanna be friends. There were two registers opened. An older lady with white hair who acted like the customer was a best friend. I thought they were friends!!! Until the customer walked away saying nice to meet you !!! The other cash register lady was trying to convince a man to sign up for a kohl's credit card account!!! He kept saying no but she kept on and on. At this point I was upset. The man walks away after paying and she begs me to sign up for a kohl's credit card. I finally said I said "NO " lady. But she keeps on you'll save 35% to which I gave her a dirty look grabbed my bag like the man before me did and stormed out. What a mess of a store it was empty so I can see why they try to sign up people for kohl's credit cards. Next time I'll drive to Middletown KOHLS !!! read more

I worked here for 6 months. The management is horrible, they blackmail you to force you to sell credit cards and if u don't sell enough they cut your hours drastically, I worked maybe once a week sometimes. And wouldn't allow me to put in my two weeks notice without working Black Friday for them three weeks away. The only good thing about this store is year long they have great clearance deals. Can't tell you how many shirts I get for 4-5$ on clearance. read more

Not horrible, but seems that they don't follow corporate instructions. I ordered items online, went to pick them up when I got the email that they were in. Great! Until.... I get to the pickup desk at the rear of the store, a sign plus a velvet rope divides pickups from returns and other customer service stuff. Obviously so people like me that intend to be in and out don't have to wait for exchanges and assorted jackassery. So, I go to the side for pickups, and the line is upset, so I ask why, since I don't need customer service, just my stuff. I was rudely informed by a returner that one line exists, and the employee agreed. So, instead of following the signs and rope divider, one line and I got to wait 35 minutes to pick up something paid for a week ago because apparently signs and a dividing rope don't convey the corporate message to customers, which is natural, but the employees not enforcing that is what ground my gears. There's a reason that there are 2 lines, easy, pay and pickup customer interaction, and the other line for the PITA type, want returns, discounts, all the time waster people. I won't be back, maybe I'll try the Kohl's in Middletown, hopefully they follow policy and don't cave to problem customers. read more

Worst experience trying to simply pay my bill...went to Customer Service, after walking past about 15 people in line waiting at the main registers with only 2 cashiers open. Uh oh. Get to Customer Service in the back of the store, again, more than 10 people in line and it is NOT moving. Head back to the front registers and same situation. Clearly this store needs more help. Will never go again, don't care how many coupons they send me. Not worth my time. Oh, and finnnnally leaving 45 minutes later, pass the giant sign that says "We're hiring!" read more
