I have returned an item in December 2013. Price was 29.99 plus 8% tax when clerk handed over me receipt I realized return amount is not correct it should be 32.38 not the $31.83. I pay attention to tax that was less then 8% so I asked he I think 1.84 is not 8% of 29.99 dollars. She said no no 8%should be $1.84. That was XMAS evening too much rush in store so I did not like to waste their time. But later at home when I calculate the amount I was right instead of 1.84 return tax should be 2.9992 (usually other stores like target give 2.40 back in .39992 situation { I have noticed}) Now I have visited one of my friend in area and need ti return another item to Kohl's store I print out that return receipt. So asked the manager in JEWELRY department how come they refund less money for my return? just looking at receipt for a moment manager informed me that we have over pay you. I was surprised at this finding. And ask how do she feel they over pay me. She calculate and called over her intercom other lady saying here is a customer not understanding. Then she just asked me it's just 45 cents I said not more but she said just for 45 cents you are arguing with me? Here She opened cash register with full rage took out one 25 cent and 2 10 cents and slammed back opened register and if she can she would have throw the coins on my face. We would give a street beggar some coins with more respect. As she slammed those coins on my hand and she was not giving from her own pocket. Now I just told her calmly that refund amount was 32.38-31.83 =00.55 not 00.45. Now instead of saying sorry for her mistake Kohl's Manager asked me to prove my statement I try to use my calculator and was scared in my heart and confused in my mind may be my math is not correct. I subtract and for some reason answer was 700.55. Now she looked at me and said from where 700 came and now I was completely puzzled. what the voice came from her mouth after that I would say she barked at me, " It is very very SAD, I gave you 45 cents and you still saying 10 cents more?" other lady said to her no no don't give her 10 cents but she did. At that time I thought to throw back 55 cents to her face but I control my anger. And left store with a smile. now I want to tell KOHL"S and their Managers that sad thing is not a customer is asking for 55 or even 5 cents back sad thing is the MANAGER of KOhl's don't know when it is .83-.38= 45 but when there is something before . answer will be different amount was 31.83 -32.38= -00.55 will be the difference if do the math correctly. Other thing is Kohl's cash issue many friends talk to me about it and said kohl's clerks are very rude to this issue. so it is not just thi store but all over the state or country they are doing this when you buy something with 125.99 dollars kohls cash was 15 kohls cash per 50 at that time in December so we paid 8% tax so total paid 136.07 dollars. If customer used that kohls cash they will lost 33 dollars not just 30 dollars upon return. Can some one explain to me why they are charging tax on kohls cash? on Target I saw add that with gift card this coffee maker is in 179.99 and same coffee maker without gift card 199.99. Now If customer return coffee maker with out using gift card he or she will received her money back and if card was used just 20 dollar less and tax on 179.99. You can see clearly in my uploaded images how kohl's is not returning tax when deduct kohls cash. Workers at kohl's store just can not take responsibility as they are part of kohl's corporation or may be Kohl's corporation is not giving them any authority to correct and inform the higher authorities that there is this glitch need to be corrected. for 136.07 deduct 30 dollars will be 106.07 but they have very weird way of deducting kohls cash they give kohl's cash after taxes but upon return they treat Kohl's cash as discount for that purchase. So no their formula is 125.99-30=95.99 now they will apply tax that will reduce your refund instead on 106.07 $103.67. For me it doesn't make sense why should I pay tax for a gift card. Let say I bought a ring with that kohl's cash they will do math 50-30=20+8%tax 1.6=21.60 now If customer return that item he or she will receive just 21.60 back to her payment method and 30 dollars kohls cash as Kohls merchandise credit. So why when refund EARNED kohls cash that is 33 dollars and when getting refund for used kohls cash just 30 dollars? can one explain this to me please? Since their online customer service is better I would like to give two stars otherwise in store or over the phone (some times) they just don't understand what customer is saying and how she or he is right. read more

Tried on shoes and got confused and distracted and made a human mistake by forgetting them on my feet. walked one step out the door. Bam Security grabbed me. when I exsplained what happened and that I had the cash to pay $ 27. dollars for them. They Charged me. Wow I am 54. Cancer patient. I went to Kohl's after seeing their ads on t.v. for awesome looking boots. I was SO excited :) I adore boots and wait all year for boot season. I hopped in the car and grabbed my sister-in-law only to encounter something I have never encountered in my entire life. They do not stock a single wide width boot. Not one. I was offered to view one of the "I think we have one or two regular shoes in wide width" by the sales clerk. You have got to be kidding me. Seriously? Nordstrom's has wide width, Payless shoe source has wide width... but not Kohl's. I will never go back to this store again in my life. I have never felt so humiliated and shocked. I was so sad after this experience that it became a mission that I would not go home without some boots today. I went immediately over to Payless shoe source and had several options and was helped by two different sales clerks. I am now the owner of some gorgeous new boots. I'm not a picky person, I don't ask much from a store. I didn't cause a scene, instead I picked up my pride off the ground and continued on. read more

While I was driving to see my brother who's in a rehabilitation center on Christmas Eve I decided to get him a gift for what could be one of maybe three years left for him in this life. He has trouble sleeping so I purchased noise canceling headphones which was priced at $19.99 but I was charged $49.99 at the register and I questioned the price being different from what the electronic sign displayed. After a long conversation with several managers they honored the price shown on the electronic sign. I could sound petty to some people due to the fact my brother only has a short time left but the truth is I just wanted something to help him sleep at night and I would've found something cheaper but they did honor that price. I miss Mervyn's but thank goodness for Kohl's. This is my go to store for mostly clothes, but also household stuff and shoes. I always search the clearance racks first because there is always SO much to go through. I always find something (if not everything) that I can use on clearance. On top of buying stuff on clearance, I always have a coupon or Kohl's cash to use. How can I say no to this store when they make it so easy to save money?! The people who work here at the Livermore store are always nice and friendly. There is a cashier named Jason who is always really friendly and quick when it comes time to check out. I ordered a dress online that I didn't like as much when I tried it on so I returned it - but the girl at the return desk didn't give me the full amount back (including shipping) which is understandable but she wouldn't explain to me why I wasn't getting the full amount. I tracked down a manager (Theo) who explained it was the shipping I didn't get returned and gave me the shipping back - he didn't have to do this but he did it without my asking him to. The customer service here is possibly one of the worse I have seen any where. I was ready to spend about $150 on clothing and was told that I had to wait until the weekend to use the coupon that I received in the mail. well as it turns out, they do not hold items for more than 24 hours which is fair if this information is given when the items are being put on hold and not after the items have been restocked. speaking with the associates on the phone was a nightmare also, I said that I needed to speak to customer service but was transferred to a number of departments before reaching customer service where I was put back on hold for the 4th time. Sorry Kohl's looks like your missing out on not only this sale, but you're missing out on this customer for life. I love coming to this location, the employees are always so helpful and never seem to mind going out of their way to please their customers. I even had one lady take clothes off a mannequin for me so I could try the shirt, which was the only one in my sise. I like this place! It's a-lot better than the one in Fremont which can get cramped on a Saturday afternoon. This one is big and spacious. Their home section is very nice too. I like shopping at the Kohls' stores but made the mistake of ordering a child's booster seat online. They shipped me a stroller, which I promptly returned and still have not received a refund. Customer service refused to resend the correct item and stated they had to reorder it charging the full price to send it, which it arrived a week later. I still have not received a refund. The manager was unapologetic and really did not care. I have no clue whether I will ever receive a refund for the returned item they sent in error. read more

We were in livermore and decided to go to that store again in hopes to have a better experience than the one we had there before. Everything was fine until we got to the register this tiny cashier light skin drk brown long hair, big brown eyes, mexican, hispanic, i believe her name is Jennifer, was flirting with some guy making the rest of us wait on a busy day. And to top it off she was pretty darn rude as if it was our fault for the interrupting her flirting session ugh. Please do the flirting at your own time not while you are on the clock. Come on Kohl's maybe higher mature personnel that can get the job done right. Also their coupons are good for everything including beauty, perfume, shoes like nike, fila, you can't find that kind of deal anywhere else! I had to return a defective item purchased online and delivered broken with the UPS box slid open. I went to customer service explaining what happened and they immediately check if the item was in stock, told an associate at customer service to get the replacement and out of here. This was my first Kohls purchased and happy the exchange process with positive customer service went smoothly. The item I exchange was a Cookware set where the box was open and lid was damaged. I also check out their clothing products in the discount section and found even more bargains before I left the store. read more

If you like digging through a pile of clothes in a cardboard box at a yard sale, you'll love Kohl's in Livermore. Went in last month to buy some pants and the shelves looked like they had not been straightened in weeks and the fitting rooms were overflowing with discarded clothing. Not one employee in sight in menswear the whole time. Went back last night and it's worse. Piles of clothes stuffed under the racks and it's impossible to find anything on the shelves. Not even Walmart on its worst day looks this bad. I could not bring myself to pick through this laundry basket of a store and left without making a purchase. Again, not one employee anywhere to be found in menswear. Sales in brick and mortar stores are waning while online shopping is gaining. Here's a good example of why. Kohl's is open 170 hours in a row leading up to Christmas. Who wants to shop in a nasty, picked over half empty store that won't spend the payroll to have someone folding clothes? read more

The store is an absolute disappointment. Normally I go to the one in manteca, which looks like some one cares about the way the store looks. This one was trashed, all the men's dress pants were just piled on top of the rack. Non were folded or organized. Random stuff just dropped all over the store. Just went by there today to pick up dress shirts for work. It was a surreal experience, like walking through a ghost town. You would think that a lack of customers would make the sales staff extra attentive, but they were conspicuously absent in the Men's dept. I guess their clientele consists solely of females? Annoying, but so what, right? Who needs staff for help, anyway. Then, to make matters worse, the men's dress shirts section looked like a teenager's bedroom, with shirts on the floor, hanging askew off of displays, and the bins for particular sizes did not match their contents in the slightest. Did a tornado touch down in Livermore recently? This place is weak, not worth wasting my time with the hassle. read more

i could spend hours in this store, my boyfriend hates that. they have a great variety of household stuff/decor, clothes and accessories. i always find something to take home. i only wish there wasn't such a huge style difference between the teenage section and the woman's section. i feel like me being in my late twenties i am not quite into the woman's style, but not the teenagers either..plus those sizes tend to be too small. the woman's section tends to have a lot of 40+ year old styles. i don't know maybe i'm just different...but most of the woman's styles make me look old. Have been shopping Kohl's in Livermore since it opened and have noticed prices on the rise. Saw a CBS news piece this last week about them marking up the price then giving what would appear to be big discounts, so I visited them and found it to be TRUE. Returned a pair of pants that didn't fit and while looking at other ones I saw a paste-it price sticker on the tag and the digital sign showing original price $54 and sale price $29.99. When I peeled back the sticker the original price was $45. Good price or not, that's false advertising and misrepresentation. They've lost my business. read more

Kohl's has the worst customer service. I called to find out if they found a pair of glasses. It was the last place I used them. I was on hold with customer service the first time for 10 minutes, hung up and called back again and this time I was on hold 7 minutes more. I called back and got the same lady who said she was real busy, had a line (customer service) and was doing the best she could. I told her she should call for more help and she said "that would be great if I could get help". It took her all of 10 seconds to tell me she didn't have the glasses. Bad customer service.
