He didn't offer to help, he stood behind the counter with his head down, looking at his phone and the computer screen. In fact, NONE of the four people working there offered to help. One of them even looked at me, turned around, and went into the back; never to be seen again. I was looking for a suit to wear at our daughter's wedding, and I was clueless about the different fits and styles....I really didn't know what I was doing. After being ignored for about a half an hour, I left. Here's the kicker: Originally, I had gone to the Northgate location. They had a jacket I liked, but not matching pants. The VERY helpful gal working there suggested I try the Tri-County location. Well, after being totally blown off at Tri-County I went back to Northgate and bought the jacket.

My hubby has a closet full of suits and the last 4 times we went he left empty handed. He said they have a lot suits but nothing he wanted. He's looking for classic browns, a solid black suit that has a nice sheen-not mat and not pin stripes or styled like a lounge singer. Same with navy and brown/tan. And they never have his size. Everything is way too big or slim fit and tight and he hates that. They had a guy tailoring for them for years and now it's someone else who said he wouldn't put a cuff on our grandson's pant leg because kids don't get that. We found a pair of dress shoes for our other grandson in his size which is 7 in mens and it had a mismatched 7.5 wide with it. After scouring with a cashier's help they found the only 3 pairs his size were all mismatched. They had zero boys dress shirts for 12 or 14/16 but upon coming back today they got a shipment in and had some thank goodness. In the end we were able to get the boys each a 3 piece suit in black and a dress shirt/ties. Had to go online for dress shoes elsewhere. They did alter the suit we got perfectly.

We've used the store in Columbus many times with great results, so we thought this store would be our best option in the area. This was a completely different experience. The woman helping us didn't take any measurements, just asked what sizes our son normally wears. We eventually had to grab sizes we thought might work and he tried them on without any guidance on fit. The length he needed in a jacket wasn't available to try on so she told us what thought would fit best. She only agreed to measure him instead of eyeballing it when we insisted. There was an older lady working who seemed to be observing our interaction. I was hoping she might have more experience and jump in with some help. No such luck. I honestly wish we had driven the extra five hours back and forth to bring my son home to the Columbus area.

The staff are always friendly and parking is a breeze since the store is in a plaza with a big lot. They have huge sales and a good texting program that alerts you of sales and sends coupons straight to your phone.

I didn't have enough room in my carry on bag to buy like I wanted to but the clothes were in good shape and they looked brand new! My quest for a suit/suit coat for a wedding took me from one end of the men's clothing spectrum to the other. My first stop at another store had me trying on a fantastic sports coat that I later realized was priced at $1,200. I politely excused myself and headed for the other end of the spectrum. The other end didn't work for me either. When I went to this Jos A Banks store to get my coat tailored I looked at the rack in my size and knew I needed to bring my fashion consultant (wife) back to take a look. Between yesterday and today we spent about 4 hours in the store updating my aged wardrobe. Several coats, shirts, ties, and slacks later I'm very satisfied. I was also lucky enough to drop into a sale and find several coats on clearance that fit perfectly. And I have to admit that were it not for the sale I would have probably stopped with the one coat, slacks and shirt and made it work with one of my old ties. Joseph Banks happened to be running a promotion of "buy one, get one free" pants, so I called my dad (who is the store's biggest fan) and he came running down to meet us and get a good deal. The employee that helped us grabbed my boyfriend's sports coat and started pairing it with different pants until he had found the optimum pair. Unfortunately, the slacks that looked stunning with the jacket were not "ready-to-wear," they needed to be hemmed. We asked if there was any chance they could be hemmed before the store closed that evening but the employee told us the tailor was leaving as we spoke. He stopped us and ran to the back and five minutes later returned and said "go put them on so we can measure, they'll be done in less than an hour." Great! 45 minutes later we were called back to the store and my dad and boyfriend went in on an order together and got two pairs of nice dress slacks for $50 each! Not a bad deal at all. Great service and great clothing, I bought a cool pink and navy striped tie for my boyfriend while we were there.

I also bought a pair of pajamas that was supposed to be on sale but was charged a different price than sign. I didn't realize until after I left the store. I had to drive back an hour away to get my credit. Make sure to check your receipt. I was told they have been having problems with the wrong prices in the computer.
