Pretty standard kohls. Been to bigger ones but this being Santa Cruz it's decent. Parking lot is kinda smaller and shares it with Ross but it is attached to the mall so parking is found around. There's not the best quality things at kohls, but if you need something quick they might have it. Gotta love the """"50%""""" tactic they do. Anyway it's pretty organized and doesn't smell weird like Macy's so that's a plus. Don't really interact with service here ever so can't comment. Cashiers are nice. On 11/30/2024 I was accused of stealing when I was picking up my Wife's online order. My wife had a pickup order and sent me the email with the order number and instructions. According to the email, her order was in box 22 and 95 so I went to the pickup area and picked up the items in those boxes. Mind you, I passed multiple sales associates on the way to the pickup area and on the way out of the store. Not once did a single employee ask me for proof of purchase or question my motives. I grabbed my items and walked back to my car where things took a turn for the worst. While we were checking our order and making sure our daughter's shoes fit, a random stranger came up to our car accusing us of taking his items. Not only did we have no idea what he was talking about, we had no idea he was a Kohl's employee. For a moment, we thought we were being robbed by a stranger and my 3 kids and wife were scared that we were in danger. The employee then accused me of stealing items. I simply responded with "What items? I picked up my online order from the boxes that were in the email." He then stated that it was reported that employees saw me taking items from the pickup boxes. I asked "What is the correct way to pickup items from an online order so I'm not accused of stealing in the future" and he responded by saying "I don't know I was just told you were taking items." Not only is this grossly inappropriate and unprofessional behavior, my wife and kids are traumatized and scared. A complete stranger came up to my wife's window and we had no idea why. If Kohl's is training its employees to chase after potential thieves then why wasn't I stopped on the way out of the store? Why did the employee wait until I was with my family? Personally, I feel like this could have been racially motivated as I am of Mexican heritage. Why else would I be accused of stealing for simply following the instructions provided to pickup an online order? This type of behavior is gross and Kohl's needs to do better. I will never shop at this Kohl's location or any other location again and I will persuade everyone else to do the same. read more

This is a great Kohls neat store with great staff! Now the new Sephora make up center is a different story! We went to get make up for a wedding and the girl working was not helpful at all and eveything we wanted to buy was out of stock How can this be at a new store? This store will not last with horrible rude customer service! Our wedding party went next door to Ulta and had wonderful friendly service and between us ladies we spent over $600 and we're so pleased with the help we received. Sephora girl need more training and an attitude change perhaps a secret shopper could help with these issues. We will not be back to Sephora sadly!! read more

I have not written a review here in years, but this might be the weirdest so-called "customer service" I have ever had! I asked a woman for help finding the box associated with a sample shoe. She said, "I will get Antonio, he can help you." Antonio came over grudgingly, slowly, and stood at the opposite end of the aisle as if I had cooties--so bizarre! I asked him to show me the box associated and he wouldn't budge, he just kept saying, "It's over there somewhere," pointing to where I had been already standing, looking. It was insane. I had been in various social situations all evening and can assure you I did not look weird , smell, or anything like that! Antonio honestly seemed mentally ill or something, to act this crazy. Never coming back here, bought a set the other day and had noticed one of the products was damaged I went to return it and exchanged it for the same thing because i liked the scents. Upon inspecting my new one as I got home i noticed the perfume smelled nothing like how it did before and I opened the bottled and smelled it and I could tell its as if someone had done a return on this product and replaced it with some sort of nail polish remover. Which leads me to believe the reason I had to return the first one for being messed up was because it was already returned by somebody who damaged it and just put it back on the shelf. I also happened to walk into ulta after this and notice the same product 2 dollars cheaper. So then I called one of the people that work there and ask if I can do a return on a return exchange she says I just need to bring that receipt. I dig throw my disgusting trash bin and find the receipt just for it to state on the receipt "NO RETURNS" I also had a friend interview to work there a couple months ago and the manager was an hour late to the interview read more

Came in looking for some workout clothing. I was happy to see that this Kohl's carries Under Armor brand. Got a cute workout outfit. Thank you Kohl's! Only downside is the prices are a little high. Other than that, it is just like every other Kohl's store. Overall though, this Kohl's is great if you are shopping for clothing for all different age groups. read more

They have an employee name Maryam was very rude , I was in line for a long time till I was checking out I found out that one of the items I was purchasing was the wrong size and since she was working on my other items since I was buying so much stuff I told her let me run really quick it's just the next rack and get the right size and come back she said I have to suspend your transaction and you have to go back inline I said it's just right there by the time you're doing the rest of the transactions I will be right back, anyway she suspended the transaction which is was fine it took me less than 30 seconds I was back she saw me she actually left the cash register, left my items on the counter went to do her own stuff inside the room without even acknowledge me or saying I will be right with you, so she just want me wait just like going back inline, I was just standing there for a few minutes till I moved my stuff to the other counter and other employee help me I thought that was very rude and the management needs to Tran employees like that on their customer service skills. read more

I went to Kohl's yesterday around noon. I had gone to the store in Marina and purchased a bedspread for a bunk bed... I need the second on so because I was going to Santa Cruz anyway, I stopped in to purchase the other bedspread. The store is so crammed with merchandise it's hard to even see everything. That bugs me but I get it, we are heading into the holidays. There were two check out stands in the store...both had lines serpentining through the isles. The cash registers were not fully staffed. Frankly, I can't go back there...this is terrible customer service. One guy standing in line put his stuff down and said forget it! I would have too but I was purchasing the last bedspread that I needed to match my previous purchase. If you can overstock your store you certainly should hire the help to accommodate your customers! Found the cutest pair of boots. The little price screen on it was broken so I used their IN STORE PRICE CHECKING KIOSK. Said they were half off for 29.99. Got em up to counter and told they're 60.00 and that the price I saw was for online shoppers. This isn't really a dis to the store itself, but to the company. If the price is not the same online and in store don't give customers the online price during a price check! This is false advertisement! Get your sh** together! read more

In general, I love Kohl's as a department store - great sale prices and generally good selection. I frequent Kohl's quite often whenever I am back East visiting family. So, I was excited when this store opened in the Capitola Mall. However, in comparison to other Kohl's I've been to, the selection in this store is extremely lacking (clothes, shoes, coats, handbags, housewares, etc.). Additionally, the many of the things that are available in this location tend to be cheaply made and/or quite ugly. The store is also often messy and disorganized. If you sign up for a rewards card, you can get coupons often as well as a form of "money back" in Kohl's cash good towards a purchase. I've always found the staff to be helpful and friendly, so that is a plus in my opinion. I've processed online returns here as well and never had any problems. read more

Not a lot of places in Santa Cruz to find basic linens and towels. Kohl's certainly has decent prices and a large selection. Sadly, on the weekends I've visited, that selection is strewn all over the aisles, making for quite the obstacle course. At least if someone trips, they'll likely land on a pillow or down comforters. The clutter isn't limited to housewares, either. Strolling through the store, it looked like the stereotypical Ross customer had come in from across the parking lot and pulled the majority of underwear, socks, scarves and other various sundries off the shelves and left them in heaps on the floor. The fitting room looked more like a homeless encampment, with piles and piles of clothes and accessories on the floor and in the fitting rooms. And I wasn't even shopping the clothing area - just curious about the clutter. No fitting room personnel either. The store needs a basic refresher class in Loss Prevention 101. Let me start by saying that this is one of the worst Kohl's stores I have ever shopped. I keep giving them a chance, but no more. The place is always a mess. You have to frequently step around merchandise that is on the floor, shove a pile of clothes out of the way to use a fitting room, and be careful around sharp broken plastic shelves (bedding dept.). One time, when I was shopping for my niece, I made the mistake of looking at their toy section, or I should say toy pile because I almost tripped over all of the things on the floor. It was like the store's management doesn't care if it's shoppable or not. Maybe it's a lack of employees because they are few and far between if you need help. I saw a long line at their customer service counter, with only one person working it. I saw her page for some help several times, and finally after 10 minutes someone else shows up only to have the original employee leave the counter, break time I guess. The last straw was when I was looking for a new vacuum and asked the guy working the area if they had it in stock because there was no boxes under the display. This guy, Marc something, says that they did not have it in the store, but said they had a small warehouse nearby they rent and could get it from there if I wanted to wait a day or two. When I questioned this, he said their stockroom in the store is too small to keep everything. He even joked that someone working at the store had bought a new vacuum cheap because it was lost at this rented place for two years and was put on clearance. I ended up getting the same, in-stock, vacuum for a better price at Bed, Bath & Beyond across the street I won't be shopping here again. The quality of the women's clothing is better at Macy's and several other stores in the Capitola Mall. If I want toys I go to Toys R Us which is only a couple miles away. If I want something for my apartment or bed and bath I'll go to BB&B. This will also let me avoid being hit up to get a Kohl's credit or rewards card every time I try to check out, no wonder the lines of the one or two registers they have open are so long. If for some reason, I can't imagine, I do want something from Kohl's I'll wait until I can get to the Campbell or Marina stores, which are much cleaner and nicer. So sad, I use to like Kohl's, but no more. read more

Beware of their credit card tactics, very dishonest..t Twice I was asked if I would like a Kohls credit card and I stated I did not because I didn't want a hard hit on my credit report, both times I was told it was a soft hit on my credit report and would "not" show on my credit report. LIES, LIES, LIES it go thru as a hard hit on my credit report. Called manager about this, she played dumb saying she thought it was soft hit.....what a dishonest person! Always love shopping at Kohls! The customer service is helpful and they have basically the stuff I am looking for when it comes to my work out gear and home use items. They have great customer rewards programs that helps me save 15-20% on almost everything I purchase there, and being an athlete, buying all "performance" gear can get pricey, so the discounts add up quick! Thankful for that! Today, I brought in a Keurgi Brewer that had become faulty. I still lied within the 1 year warranty, but couldn't find a receipt or a statement on my credit cards to make proof of it. THinking this was going to be a struggle to get them to return it for me, I went in and found the smoothest return/exchange ever. Brisa was very helpful in this process and had told me I could do a straight exchange if that's something I would like to do, which I did. Swapped out the broken one for a new one and I was very satisfied with the service I received! Super happy about it all. Definitely will be coming back to Kohls for my next shopping spree, which won't be too far away. read more

I shopped at Khol's on 2/12/2019 & spent $257.16. I asked if they take checks & they said yes, so I wrote a check & it was denied even though I have 10's of thousands of $$$ in there. So I said I have checks from another bank so I'll try that . Again it was denied!!!! I will NEVER shop there again. They told me to call my banks which I did. I was doing some Christmas shopping and looking around in the mall i was happy and excited i decided to go check out Kohls and was in the shoe department and i could hear the manager or person in charge belittling another employee that was having trouble finding something in the system he kept telling her go back to bed talk to me when your rested in a negative tone i then went around the corner and saw & heard another employee or manager of that department snapping at another employee i started getting anxiety i could feel the stress so i left the thing is it wasnt even busy. I dont think its ok for managers or employees to talk negative or rude to its employees period especially infront of customers thats unacceptable managment needs to be retrained on how to handle employees or stress ill be trying my best not to be going back there read more

Brisa provides the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life and she stated to me that she was the head store manager which I found to not be true The "manager" Brisa Proceeded to walk past me after the checker assisting us with the situation and asking her to come help decides to barrage herself through The aisles to go and verify that the tag that was listed on the items was incorrect then deciding to walk over after she grabs the tag to remove them off the items that they were listed under walked right up to me and in front of the girl who was helping didn't introduce her self didn't say anything but you're not getting these things for what they're marked for. I was completely shocked and appalled that this person who has the worst customer service skills decided to call me as a customer a liar as she holds the tag in her hand. After the representative "" manager"" was done speaking I asked them to honor which was not that much of a difference and she again was being so atrocious and rude did not want to take care of me as a customer. Kohl is a much more useful store to my family than Mervyns ever was. They have more stylish clothes, great sale prices, and the staff there has been properly trained to be friendly & helpful. I can always find casual clothes for work here at a great price. I often leave with more stuff than I'd planned on buying because the prices and selection are so good. Service Sucked!!! I was shopping with my bf's mom and found a top we liked but not in the size we needed. I say no biggie! Ill just go to the counter, theyll scan it and tell me if they have it. Boy was I wrong. I walk up to the counter... not acknowledged ... then say " Hi i was wondering if you had this in other sizes..." then It begins... I got some attitude from a long blonde haired chick in the womens department who was TRAINING somebody. "Is that on clearance?" me: i dont know.... " i think it is... we cant find it" me: oh really? you cant scan the skew for another size??? " not when its on clearance.. cuz we dont know if its there or not. me: yea whatever. And i had to walk away before i lost it. the WHOLE POINT of SCANNING it is TO SEE if it IS THERE!!!! Ive worked retail, if a customer asks for something, you do your best to get it for them. At MACYS they can scan clearance stuff, will call other stores for you. even offer to ship it!!! Thats a store that values their customer. And i feel sorry for the girl she was training, i hope her methods dont rub off on her. I love kohls for their prices, but not for their service. Its a bummer for that chick tho... she could have met her sales goal with our purchase. Instead we went to customer service where the girl gladly scanned the shirt and rang us up. read more
