I had an unfortunate experience at the Kohl's opening today. I arrived at 8:56 a.m., knowing the store opens at 9. As I was walking toward the entrance, a couple had just walked in and I was about to do the same when a woman with dark hair came out and loudly yelled, "We are not open until 9!" Her tone was extremely rude and aggressive, as if we had done something wrong by being a few minutes early. She demanded that the employees shut the doors immediately, which they did. She then walked away and drove off. About a minute later, employees reopened the doors and allowed us to enter (8:58). The situation was confusing and honestly felt very unwelcoming. I completely understand that store hours should be respected, but there is a way to communicate that respectfully. Being yelled at before even entering the store did not set a positive tone for the visit. I hope management can address this, as customer service and professionalism matter especially at opening time. read more

This KOHL'S location is the BOMB! Absolutely wonderful! From the moment we stepped in and were offered a wheelchair by their two hosts - to how we were greeted - was a CHRISTMAS GIFT in and of itself. And, I truly mean that from the depths of my heart. These two hosts had kind, encouraging words and sentiments and directed us to precisely the location we needed to go - and we FOUND MORE than what we were looking for. It's been a couple years since I last reviewed this place. However, I've visited recently a couple of times, and each time, I've found the store clean, well-stocked, and organized. Unfortunately, during my recent trip, I only managed to find one blouse for me. I didn't have much luck finding what I needed. Despite encountering a long line, they promptly called for additional assistance. Everyone loves Kohl's! This is the perfect place to find just about anything you need, from suits and dress shirts to sportswear. They have a great selection of perfumes, colognes, and classy dresses, along with shoes and accessories. That's why I often make a quick stop here to pick up something for meetings. I'd say it's better than any other store for shopping for professional attire or athletic gear. They really have it all! It's definitely one of my favorite places to shop. read more

You're the reason why I'm not rating my experience as a 1 star. You were so nice and extremely helpful. There were a lot of customers in your store while we were there and you were hustling to get to everyone. So thank you again! For your coworker however whose name starts with a Y and who has black hair I would take notes to improve your work ethic. Kneeling down in an isle looking at your phone and just slowly roaming around the store when it's obviously hectic not asking customers if you can help is poor customer service. So I am a plus size woman who recently lost some weight and was looking for a place to shop for some new clothes. I was recommended to Kohl's by some co-workers. I went to the SW location which was closest to me and from my work. Shortly after arriving in store I felt like I was being watched by employees as if I was going to steal something which made my shopping experience uncomfortable. They did not have a lot to choose from for me in the plus size section, they were out of a lot of the smaller sizes. However I did find a few items and went to checkout. The lady who checked me out was so nice and made conversation with me and offered me a chance at getting a bigger discount if I wanted to apply for a Kohl's card and I did. If it wasn't for that teller I don't think I would be giving that store another chance for my business. I did go to the Rosedale location the next day and they had more stuff for me with a great experience there. read more

I have a Kohl's's account. Have had it for several years. Can't get a credit limit increase. Ultimately that's fine it just limits my desire to shop with this company. What has me raging this morning is. My payment was due yesterday. Chose to pay it in the store because I was taking my granddaughter shopping. Wasn't sure if she'd find something she like here. Kohl's is a go to place if I need clothes for work or for casual wear. They have really good sales and a rewards program with times they offer Kohl's cash for large purchases. I subscribe to their emails and get numerous notifications on deals along with coupons for dollar or percent off purchases. They offer clothes for every member in the family, household items, makeup, perfume & décor. Kohl's stays pretty modern with the fashion trends and has clothes lines from Vera Wang, Hillary Duff, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony and Lauren Conrad to name a few. I freakin love Kohl's! They're a little bit more on the pricey side, depending on your budget, but you get what you pay for. I have to set a timer every time I shop here & remind my self of what I actually came in for, because I will literally try to buy the whole store. Now keep in mind, i've been to all the Kohl's locations in Bakersfield, but no one has ever provided such stellar service like KAELYN! KAELYN was really sweet and just extremely kind. With the way the world is today, We need kindness more than ever, so I sincerely appreciate her being an example of that. Most people act like they hate their jobs these days, so it's definitely refreshing knowing that there are people who don't act like it's an inconvenience to help you. Came into the store about 10 min after opening and WOW! The store is a mess it's like from far away it's looks okay but up close is a nightmare. There is about 3-5 customer in store and I was the only one in kids department but it looks like this store needs some major recovery help. After all these years of being in Bakersfield, Kohls is definitely one of my favorite clothing stores. The prices are great and you can always find something nice to wear here and amazingly something nice on the clearance racks. I was kind of bummed out when I found out they changed their rules on the Kohls cash. I would keep my Kohls cash stashed away... expired and all, and they would always accept it and let me apply my Kohls cash to any purchase, but now they are a little strict on it. I know I shouldn't complain on expired Kohls cash and I know the reason behind it is to bring customers back in a timely fashion based on the dates, but I'm not a frequent shopper haha. Even w the Kohls cash rule being strict, that won't stop me from shopping here. I love that they always stay organized and neat. I've never had a bad experience w any of the staff here, everyone is pretty nice. One thing that I will always remember is one day the lady rang my stuff up and the cash register went haywire and she said we were some kind of special customer and everything was FREE... Normally, I'll take my wife to the Kohl's on Rosedale Hwy cause it's much closer to home. This branch is also nice, and the layout is similar to Rosedale. If you look hard enough, there are great deals to be found. Most of those deals are in the Clearance sections where many of the items are heavily discounted. Also, Kohl's will send coupons in the mail that may offer an additional 30% off your purchases. She has never bought anything here at full price. Clean store with good customer service, quality products, and affordably priced. 4 Stars! read more

I visited kohls this past Friday night. I am giving them three stars because of how disorganized the clothing items were. I just wanted to visit with the sole purpose of finding a couple items for my sisters bday... So I wasn't wanting to spend a bunch of time shopping. I'm really more of a 'buyer' than a 'shopper', so when I saw the condition of the store I was a little discouraged. Now, I do need to mention My husband and I did end up finding three great sweaters for a bday gift for my sister, but it took some looking around because of the disorganization. I felt pretty lucky for what We found. The other few things that may have attributed... It was around 7:30 pm on a Friday, right in the middle of the holiday season, and I was shopping solely in the plus size section.... Which tends to be a section that doesn't get as much attention as some of the others. But, even with all that, I still think it was a little more disorganized than it should have been. read more

I have been to this particular location several times now. While to me their regular prices are way to high for my budget, I am always one scour the clearance racks and find a great deal. They also are very good about sending out coupons and other deals too. Like most department stores the cleanliness and tidiness of it will be determined by the customers and how many employees they have working in each department. I have found that obviously the later you go the messier it gets but like I said earlier I don't mind the hunt for a good deal most of the time. It could use to be a little more organized but at least they have the price checkers throughout the store. As for their brand of products the only ones we have tried consistently are the children's brand (Jelly Beans). Their brand is great, sturdy, current, and affordable most of the time. I have always had good feedback to leave as far as their customer service. Even during the busy season of the holidays all of the employees are friendly and helpful, which makes it nice to continue to shop their despite some higher prices. I will continue to shop here and always be on the look out for great deals and wonderful employees. read more

Went to Kohl's recently with my two kids, of course they wanted to see the toy section. I was in shock. Totally disgusting. This was shortly after they opened. How does loss prevention even have a job? Or the manager?? This store should be embarrassed! Even my eight year old and four year old were in disbelief. I could not comprehend the amount of toy boxes that were ripped open and the toys removed from the box. The rest of the store was clean and organized, it was as if every employee there skipped the toy section. As many employees Kohl's has, how do you not have someone checking the toy department? Unless things have changed since I worked in retail- and I have managed, and owned a store as well- when the store closed, there was someone in every department cleaning and straightening up. We didn't go home until everything was neat and clean for the morning shift. This did not happen over night. Unbelievable. read more

Stopped by here tonight and wow, I hadn't been here in over a year. I use to love to shop and I was a regular there. But when I came in today the store was a mess it just didn't seem like how I remembered it was. I asked for help from three different employees on the floor not including the cashier and it seemed like no one wanted to help me with what I was looking for. The first employee called another employee to help me and that employee showed up but seemed like she didn't want to help and told me there was another employee in the section I needed help in so I find the third employee she was no help I asked her for a specific item and told me to look over there and I'll find it instead of walking me to exactly where it is.. i just felt like a bother in that store. why do they even have employees working if they can't/ do they're job? The kids department in this store is in such disarray that shopping is nearly impossible. Sizes are mixed together (big girls sizes and little girls sizes found in the toddlers section), and the same style/item is scattered throughout the department, which means if you find an item you like in the wrong size, you'd have to walk around the entire department looking through all the racks. The shelves are just as chaotic with each stack containing a random assortment of styles and sizes. The experience reminds me of shopping a going-out-of-business sale just before a business closes its doors and everything has been picked over multiple times and the business no longer cares about keeping its stock organized. This store should be embarrassed. read more

I like shopping at Kohls (more specifically the Gosford location) for fun little pieces to spruce up my wardrobe. I am a huge fan of specifically the Vera Wang and Lauren Conrad collections. I hate cheap or painful heels so I own very few, but my Vera Wang heels have never done me wrong! They are so comfortable and wearable through an entire 8 hour work day. I also appreciate the feminine pieces from the LC collection because they are good quality and usually vintage inspired. I was originally hesitant to support her collection because I questioned her fashion credentials but I have been impressed (whether actually designed by her or her "team" we'll never know)! Oh, and the coupons and constant sales aren't bad either. read more
