The waiting room is so modern and clean and the chairs are very comfortable. They even text you a video of your car while it's on the lift so you can see what's going on. We will never, ever, purchase a car from the Koeppel dealership group. We understand that masks are irritating, especially if you have to wear them all day, but so is dying. Throughout the entirety of our visit, our salesman wore his mask incorrectly, as did many of the reps in the space. His nose hung out like an overt expression of his privilege and at times he even went as far as pulling the mask away from his face to reveal his mouth. In addition to putting us at risk for the duration of our visit, he treated us as if we were irresponsible teenagers. I had to ask him to wear his mask properly when he forced himself into our test drive only to receive attitude for doing so. At one point, he asked my partner, who is a competent driver, if she wanted him to drive. WTF? We've been to at least a dozen dealerships in the area and not one of them has treated us this way. No one has forced themselves into our test drive. No one has had the audacity to ask if they could drive for us. And no one has put us at risk because their privilege prevents them from taking the safety of others seriously. Nope, never again. read more

I very recently relocated back to NYC from Florida. It became necessary for me to register my Mazda in NY. After visiting DMV, I was given the temporary inspection sticker and two license plates. In FL, I only needed one plate for the back. I quickly discovered that the front of my Mazda had no indication or pre-drilled holes for me to install the front license plate. I called Koeppel Mazda in Jackson Heights and confirmed that they would be able to not only perform the inspection, but they would also help me with the plate. I made an appointment for 11:30 a.m. I arrived on time and was directed to bring the car into the service entrance on 78 St. I was then directed to speak with Jeanette Colon who is the Assistant Service Manager. Jeanette contacted a Mazda service tech and we discussed the options for installing the front plate. I was then informed by Jeanette, that my vehicle needed a wheel alignment. I thanked her for letting me know and asked that they please take care of this as well. I was directed to a very spacious and open waiting area. The seating was comfortable and there was a clear large screen TV with CNN news. The restroom nearby was very clean and well stocked. There was also a wonderful coffee machine with many individually packaged coffee options to choose from. I like my coffee strong so was torn between the Sumatra or French Roast. They also had an assortment of complimentary Dunkin Donuts and several candy bars on a lower shelf. The fridge below contained bottled water and i noticed that there was milk and half & half as well. As I sat there enjoying my delicious cup of coffee, I remembered that i needed my windshield wipers replaced. I went back to speak with Jeanette, and she said, "no problem" and immediately got up and went into the service area to let the service tech know. In conclusion, my experience with Koeppel Mazda and their personnel was excellent. The price was also reasonable for the work they performed on my behalf. First, the cleanliness and esthetic appearance of the dealership was refreshing to walk into. The customer service from the secretary to the salesperson was friendly, respectful and inviting. What really had an impact on my decision of leasing a Mazda was my experience with the manager, Saiful. In most dealerships, managers just crunch numbers and try to give you the best price. In Koeppel Mazda, Saiful was a manager who invited me into to his office to specifically ask what features I was looking for in a car and my round about budget. He never pressured me into a deal, but rather talked me through the process and explained offers that were available. His attentiveness, kindness and attention to detail was remarkable. Typical (and terrible) car dealer experience. I called them on June 30th, spoke with Thamina who assured me Saiful (the sales manager) would call me back, however, I didn't hear from him. I call back on August 1st and speak to Saiful and rather than apologize for not returning my call, he says they were jammed because it was the end of the month and they "moved 20 cars." I guess they didn't want it to be 21. He says he'll call me back with a price on a CX5, on August 2nd I get a voicemail from Thamina because Saiful "tried calling" but we discovered he wrote my number down incorrectly. So, rather than get it from Thamina and call me personally (as promised) he has her call me. I finally get him on the phone and he says he has "no idea where the notes are" for my car, and will call me back. Car purchasing is a stressful experience. I would suggest dealing with Asad and Saiful, as they are very customer service oriented. We visited several dealerships as we were in the market for a suv- crossover. We compared the Equinox vs. Rav- 4 vs. Mazda CX5 vs. Honda CRV. While, all those cars were contenders, the best dealership experience and one of the best deal was at Koeppel Mazda. Thus, they truly won my family's signature with a presentation and customer service that was a notch above. They did not make you feel as if they were thirsty for the money. Here is an example of good customer relations building: We almost finalized the Mazda Cx-5 lease, but because of a past speeding ticket on my driving record, the insurance quotes were initially too high compared to what we had been working with. Also, we wanted to make sure our car seat could fit in the vehicle comfortably. We needed another 24 hours to think about it, and this was our 2nd visit to the dealership. Assad and Saiful told us don't worry, go home and think about it. They may have been frustrated, but did not show itm The 24 hours allowed us to really weigh our options, see what was realistic insurance wise, and then ironically a new rebate came out that we were able to apply to our deal and get the price lowered. Compare this to my experience at a Toyota dealership where they were pressuring us for a refundable deposit on a car we weren't sold on just to hold it. Clearly, that dealership was just after the $$$$ and we felt the pressure to rush the process. Pressure is never good!! Because of Mazda's customer first service, we went to possibly having buyers remorse to feeling as if we truly got a good deal and we are happy with color and interior of the vehicle. I would like to preface this review by saying that I am giving one star to the service department only. I bought a 2019 Mazda CX-9 from this dealership and the sales staff especially Saiful Islam were of the utmost professionalism and genuinely wanted what was best for me. As good as the sales staff is, the service department is 10 times as bad. They lack all professionalism and seemingly strive to make your visit as painful as possible. I have had 2 instances of body work (both minor) done at Koeppel through a claim made by Geico. Both instances the work was sub contracted to another independent body shop. This by itself is not that big of an issue but the issue arose when my rental coverage from Geico was running down and I needed a car to commute to and from work. I would call my service advisor Todd and he never had a definitive timeframe to provide me so that I could request a rental extension from Geico. It got so bad that the adjustor from Geico would call the service department to get a time frame and he could not get Todd to provide one. At this point, my job is being threatened if I cannot get there every day. To really add salt to an wound, Todd goes on vacation and does absolutely nothing to notify me. Now I have absolutely no point of contact for my vehicle. I asked another service advisor to provide me with an update or the name of the body shop they sub contactor my car to so that I could take the initiative and get a status update from them. I was told quite rudely, "that is not our policy and you need to just wait". When it was all said and done, my vehicle was in the shop for, I would imagine, 3 weeks longer than it needed to and I was without a vehicle for a week. Dealership provided no courtesy vehicle or anything in my time of need and left me high and dry. I cannot even say that the work on the car was of good quality since it was minor work to begin with. Some time later, Koeppel sends me a survey on the service done. I air my grievances in the survey and make it clear that they were utterly unprofessional and gave honest review of their performance. I made it clear that the service advisor Todd made the situation as bad as it could have been and did absolutely nothing to rectify it. 2 months later, it is time for a oil change and tire rotation on the car. I make an appointment for Saturday morning. The day of I bring the car in, Todd checks the car into the system. He tells me it will be about 2 hours and that I can come back or wait at the dealership. So far so good, I decide to wait. Not 5 minutes later, he walks up to me and says that there is a flag on my account and that they will not service my vehicle. He says that I have to contact and speak with the service manager, Carlos Perez, and that he will be in on Monday. Monday comes and I call Carlos asking why there was a flag on the account and how to remove it. Carlos states that based on the survey and review of the last body work, they will no longer service my vehicle. Mind you that my vehicle is under warranty, but I play along. I asked him why they wont they service my vehicle. He heavily implies in his response that I am troublesome. I ask him if there is anything that he or his service advisors could have done differently to avoid this situation. THE MAN LAUGHS AT ME and says no. He then states that I should get my vehicle serviced elsewhere and finally he says something that makes sense. Very soon I will take this up with his boss. I dont know how this denial of service will work with the extended warranty that I purchased with the vehicle but If needed I will pursue legal action. If you want to buy a car from here, talk to Saiful. He will take care of you like family, like he did me. Once you have your wonderful new Mazda, drive it to another dealership and have it serviced there. Todd and Carlos go out of their way to make life hell. read more

Jay Polanco lease me the car by convincing me with the knowledge he has of the car without any pressure to purchase. It is now five years that I have my car serviced by them and I have no complaints. I have only praise for them especially for Carlos the young Service Manager he really goes above and beyond in helping the customer get the service needed on time and correct. The techs and mechanics are both proficient and efficient in getting the job done. They are polite and professional in dealing with their customers. I purchased my Mazda Cx-3 from this dealer almost a year ago and I've always thought it's best to take your car in for service at the dealership. It is usually more expensive but I think it's worth having the factory trained technicians and certified parts. It's also usually a more pleasant experience so I generally think it's worth the premium price. Not this dealer, I've had two services preformed at this place and both experiences have been bad. One worse then the next. The first time I was inquiring what was involved in the service (what filters do they change, do they rotate the tires etc.) the person couldn't tell me and even when I asked for the price they didn't know. A little mind boggling to be honest but I quickly got over it and decided it was still worth going to the dealership for service. Well, I just got me second service done and all in all it was fine. The person helping me out knew about the maintenance schedule and even got me a coupon for my rotation. This is more like it I thought! That was until I got into my car and noticed scratches (one could even say gauges) on the door jamb of my car. When I showed the service person who checked me in he swore it couldn't have been his guys since it was just an oil change and only two people had been around the car, both who said they didn't scratch it. Ok, I'm very meticulous about this car. Im not saying it's perfect from fender to fender but I know about the existing scratches and we did a walk around when I dropped off the car. I also had the car washed the day before and wiped down all the doors jambs myself because I care about the car like that. No scratches at that point. But the service person couldn't deny it enough even having the technician come out and rub his boot on the jamb to prove it couldn't have been him. I'm a professional who works in shops, I know things happen. Thins happen, these are polished finishes, it's delicate but my bosses never try and stick it to the client. After arguing with them they offered to send it to a body shop they work with and get me "a good price". I was about to loose it so I told the guy, mail me a paint pen and that should have been your first offer. Terrible customer service. Car runs fine so that's a plus. Love the car itself too, so 5 stars to Mazda. Terrible service department though, you'd be better off at a jiffy lube. read more

I scheduled an inspection and servicing on July 1st. Apparently my CX-5's module couldn't be read by the NYS inspection machine because "a rodent had bitten one of the electrical wires." They were unable to do the repair that day and scheduled & subsequently confirmed an appointment for the repair on July 20th and even promised a loaner vehicle for that day. On July 19th I received a text that my appointment was cancelled because of a two week delay at their shop for diagnostics. And of course, no loaner car was available. I'm not sure why I needed to wait another 14 days for a diagnostic when I just waited 19 days for my appointment. In any event, I brought my car to a local repair shop where it was determined that my car never needed a diagnostic. A cursory inspection by the mechanic revealed that an electrical wire had popped out with everything functioning properly when plugged back in. My car was inspected and I was charged only $37 for the NYS inspection. I'm not sure why Mazda's mechanics who are presumably experts in Mazda's electrical systems, couldn't find the simple problem on July 1st but I will never bring my Mazda to Koeppel for servicing ever again. And every week Koeppel sends me a letter offering to buy my Mazda for $20,000 so I'll presumably buy a new one for $42,000. Not interested. read more
