This was a devastating experience, you go up to the register, and nobody acts like they know what they're doing because it looks like everybody just goes to the drive-through Everybody was just standing around, cutting up, we ordered our food, and I left a tip to give to my server. If I knew that I was going to have to be my server then I would've kept my money. I had to get my food, get my own pepper shaker, get my own hot sauce, and then throw my food away and then go to the front and ask for a refill the drink why four people were standing around. Nobody waited on anybody. My chicken was burnt as you can see in the photograph, there was more burn, taste on the side or grill taste where the grill looks like it wasn't cleaned This place went downhill ever since the owner and his wife split up and the person got caught selling marijuana out the window and now this place is a shit hole

Amazing. Love this place. Thank you!

Love this place. Stay awesome. Filet upgrade is where it's at. Also, get there before 8 if you want sushi. I love the staff here and the food is so yummy. Thank you!

    Cold yet burnt Crab Rangoon

We swung through tonight for a quick dinner. Our completely burnt yet somehow cold crab Rangoon were inedible. Skip this place.

Here's what I like about Kochi. It's basically fast food hibachi and there's a drive-thru. I was running an errand and it was late. I was hungry and tired so I wanted to go to a drive-thru. Then I saw Kochi and figured I could get fast food with vegetables and an Asian flavor. The menu has a lot of hibachi and teriyaki choices along with sushi. Pretty much decide on a protein or combination of proteins and whether you want teriyaki or hibachi style. And you can get it with rice, extra veggies or noodles. Love that there is an all veggies option instead of carbs, but I was craving noodles. So I got the teppanyaki noodles with chicken and a drink. The drive-thru was a little slow and I had like five cars ahead of me, but my order was correct and I didn't have to get out of my car. When I got home, I was surprised at the portion sizes. You get a lot of food. Veggies and chicken was cooked fine. The noodles were more like spaghetti noodles, which was okay. It had more of a soy sauce stir-fry flavor. I dipped my chicken pieces in the shrimp sauce and that was good. Overall a good value for the money. With a drink, my meal was still under $10.

Receipt showing that tap water in a cup is $1. The restaurant also needs to change prices on their menu to reflect the actual prices.

This place used to be great, but not anymore. The food is bland and the prices are all incorrect. We asked why the prices were different and the workers were like I don't know that the owner did not change it. The girls excuse was that I just pushed a button and that is what the price is. They now charge for tap water which is $1 each in a cup with a straw. I know there is inflation, but come on! If it was bottle of water I would understand, but no it is water straight from the sink. We definitely will not be going back! It is a shame though, I used to love this place.

This is great Japanese food, though their menu keeps getting smaller and smaller. No sushi but definitely worth a try if you're in the area!

It's too expensive for the bland, tasteless food. Drive thru may be only business they get because dining room is empty. Not worth it

Good for drive thru sushi. Dining room has been closed since 2020. Rolls are tiny but the cost is reasonable.

My meal came with chicken, and my wife and two kids also got chicken, and it was overcooked for all of us. My father used to have a saying for chicken that was overcooked and dry. He'd call it "milk chicken" because you'd have to take a drink of milk to help you swallow the dry chicken. The chicken from Kochi is definitely milk chicken. The ginger sauce is fantastic. Great flavor and texture. The steak is also overcooked, and requires some hardy teeth and a good drink to get down your throat. The carrots are canned and they're sweet. I don't mind canned carrots, but it's a let down here because it's an odd contrast due to the meat being so hard to eat, but the carrots are mushy. My mouth was like, "What the... Is going on in here!?!" Lastly, the rice. It's fried rice, apparently. Well, it's supposed to be. Though it's also slightly sweet and - get this - has an odd fishiness flavor and smell to it. Ultimately, we paid a bit of money tonight to kochi and now my wife is making something else for dinner, and my two kids are making PB&J's. Me? I sat with a gallon of milk and choked down the meat. So I'm all set. We don't find the need to experiment with an order in the future. This first-time order was all the experience we needed.

Definitely worth your time!…read more JP's Hoise is conveniently located in a shopping center near Harris Teeter. They have plenty of seating options but I opted for takeout. Ordering was super easy and so was pickup. The staff were all very friendly and it was super easy to just walk in the door and walk right out with the food. No wait at all! The food was really great. I did the sushi and sashimi sampler. I traded the regular tuna in for a spicy tuna roll and it was super tasty. The salad was a little sad and the miso was just fine but the sushi was fresh and on point. I definitely recommend this place for great sushi takeout.

We arrived and went in and were greeted at the hostess stand. The hostess/waitress came to me and I told her that I had a pickup order. She walked to a table in the small dining area to the right of the door, looked at the name on the bag and confirmed it was mine. Then, she went and sat down to continue wrapping utensils or something. I had to go to the table to get my food. When I walked in there was a man sitting at the table with her and he thanked me. I just found it to be poor customer service from the hostess. Maybe that's their process? Anyhoo, the food: We got the mango chicken with steamed rice, chicken fried rice, beef yaki soba, California roll, and steamed edamame. Everything was hot and fresh, and mid. The California roll was poorly constructed as you can see it from the pics. I'd eat here again, maybe eating in to see if that changes the overall experience. Not sure it would raise the level of the food, but who knows...sometimes eating in makes a difference.

Unfortunately, the experience fell short in several areas. Given the location, you'd expect the service to be A1. Instead, I was highly disappointed. Our server was friendly enough and did share the popular items, which I appreciated, but the follow-through from the kitchen didn't match the expectations that were set. I went with the recommended Panther Roll, and it was not at all what I expected -- it came out half-baked and lacking in both flavor and presentation. The crab Rangoons were even more concerning; they were fried in what tasted like old oil, leaving a heavy greasy aftertaste. The batter itself didn't seem right, and overall they were difficult to enjoy. I've worked in the hospitality industry for seven years and recently started writing reviews to offer honest feedback that can help restaurants improve. I genuinely dislike writing negative reviews, but this visit left me no choice. Konnichiwa has the potential to be a hit with a more engaged, enthusiastic staff, consistently hot food, and some attention to kitchen maintenance -- especially the fryer and oil. I hope this feedback is helpful, and I truly believe with a few adjustments, the experience could be much better.
