This is the best pub food I've ever had!! And it's dog friendly. Our waitress was great and even brought a dish of ice water out to the patio for our dog. I'm from California and Arizona where there are great vegetarian dishes, which are hard to find in KC, so I was pleasantly surprised at the variety of vegetarian selections on the menu. The falafel burger was delicious, and I've never had better onion rings. The sauces and dressings are all homemade and very tasty. You have to try the cocktail sauce. Also, if you're a meat lover, they use Steve's meat (in De Soto), which is the best meat in Kansas City. Great little neighborhood grill. They have a good tenderloin with some amazing pub fries. I love their take on hot wings! They are a must try. We tried this restaurant as we were told they have delicious wings! They didn't disappoint! I rarely eat wings, but my husband is obsessed = he is always on the hunt for wings to try! They are baked which takes a while for your food to come out, but worth the wait. I ordered and ate them all! I got the bbq which were delicious, we also got the Buffalo and blackened magic. The blackened magic was full of a dry rub seasoning and my husband's favorite, the Buffalo was tasty but you won't be satisfied if you were craving traditional Buffalo wings. The fries were tasty too and I plan on trying a burger next time we go as it is mixed with brisket and comes from a local butcher. Go on Thursday as they have a deal for wings or else they are expensive wings. But I think they are worth it! The restaurant was eclectic and service was fine! I was pleasantly surprised by Knub's Pub. I went in expecting bland bar-food, but I was met with a tasty, fresh meal. Every Sunday, they have a scratch-made special, and today's special was the Chicken-Fried-Chicken. It was delicious. The chicken was moist and flavorful, and the batter on it was great, but it wasn't over-breaded. There was plenty of chicken, mashed potatoes (actual potatoes, not the kind out of the box, which was also a surprise), gravy, and roasted corn. It was a great meal for a great price. On top of the wonderful food, we also had a lovely waitress. She was so kind, and she did the perfect job of hosting us. This was one of the first places we visited after moving to Shawnee. We immediately fell in love with it for the atmosphere and the amazing employees. We felt so welcome here. They have homecoming specials on Sunday. The Chicken Fried Steak was to die for, even though is was really a Chicken Fried Brisket burger. I'll take that over a normal chicken fried steak any day. The brisket burgers are the best I've found anywhere. The fish and chips are also excellent. I take off a star for the lack of variety on the Sunday meals. They seem to rotate the same items month after month. This place is so inconsistent. The food is good but sometimes they will tell you 35 minutes for takeout and it's really more like 55 minutes. Tonight I got the "large fries" with my order and opened the container to find what is pictured. Hands down best food & service for a family friendly casual dining spot in the area! The wings take a long time but are worth the wait. We get them with the blackened magic seasoning and then dip them in their super delicious buffalo sauce. I always get a burger there because it is the perfect size and always perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The only things I've tried there before that were less than outstanding were their onion rings and chili. Otherwise the ambience is top notch! The booths fit our family of 5 and have the TV screens to keep our family entertained and the pinball machines help with that too while the food is cooking. I think it can get pretty busy and have more of a bar-like vibe as the night goes on so it may be best to go early with families. read more

Popped in after experiencing Lake Lenexa and was so impressed. Looks like nothing in a basic strip mall. Once you step in, it's a whole different vibe. Lamps hanging all around, pinball machines lined up against the wall, banners, tees galore. Super fun and cozy feel to it. Service was impeccable. We took her suggestion and ordered the wings - 20 minutes but SO worth the wait, utterly amazing. We also ordered salad and sandwiches, which were both fabulous. Absolutely no complaints. Server wasn't fabulous and mix up in our order but I think she was new and not super confident. As for the order mixup it was very quickly corrected and many apologies. Everyone seems to work very well together and support one another so we received our drinks and food very quickly. Prices are outstanding in fact my husband looked at me and said you are a cheap date. With everyone else in the city raising their beer prices these prices are incredible. I saw no beer over six dollars and they offer flights. You would think you were at a brewery with as many options as they had for beer. Cocktails are all under seven dollars and they have a huge variety. Wine list was very impressive as well. Now for the food we stuck with the pub salad with honey mustard dressing there were huge chunks of salami on the salad and they were incredible. The homemade croutons were exactly as they should be not greasy perfectly crunchy and delicious. House made dressing was out of this world. I had a medium well burger with a side of their BBQ sauce. I all but licked the sauce container clean. Burger was just like the backyard grill. Bun was fresh and held it all together. Tomatoes were very fresh as was onion. Fries house cut and great but could've been fried a tad longer. However personal preference. Husband had stovepipe burger. Highly recommend. Coleslaw, onion rings and bacon. Dive bar with a great burger. Makes for a great date night. Booths with TVs or a game pinball machines for some before or after dinner entertainment. They have a large drink menu with wine cocktails and several brews on tap. They make there burgers with local meat so they are juiced with great flavor. It is a sports bar atmosphere but definitely kid friendly. There is a twist on each of the menu items so don't thinks it's just boring old bar food it's fresh and made to order. The upgrade for onion rings is worth it they give a side of spicy ketchup to kick them up even ! Servings are large so if you are a light eater sharing is a good option. The appetizers and happy hour choices are large enough for a meal. This is a must go to little dive bar. read more

This place is a gem and the people of Shawnee are lucky to have a pub of this magnitude. So now that the extra stuff is out the way. The drinks were good and food was amazing and the vibe was cool . A friend and I stopped in on a late Wed night at 12. The kitchen was closed but they went out of their way to prepare us some food and fill us with top shelf spirits. Took my Dad in to this restaurant while he was in town and we ordered drinks, apps, and dinner. The drinks were so bad neither of us could drink them. I truly don't understand how a place with service this bad can stay open. It's not an isolated incident, I have tried multiple times to give this place a chance. The old brunette bartender is the most unfriendly person I have ever seen in the service industry. Most of the time she straight up ignores even at an almost empty bar. Finally seated AN HOUR later after watching them continue to seat others ahead of us. Even tried to talk to the manager about it to no avail. When we were finally seated had to share a table with an unrelated party and eat quickly since the entertainment would be there soon and needed our spot.
