This is a nice convenience store. They have drinks, candy, chips. They also have bags on display and a restaurant for to go orders inside.

My favorite appetizers are the Chicken 65 and the Vegetarian Samosas. The Chicken 65 consists of bite-sized pieces of chicken breast that are fried and then tossed in a spicy sauce. It's served with chopped red onion and a cilantro garnish, making it perfect for sharing at the table. The Vegetarian Samosas are deep-fried pastries filled with green peas, potatoes, and Indian spices, with a noticeable curry flavor. They're served with a brown, tamarind-based dipping sauce that pairs perfectly with the filling. One entrée we love sharing is the dosa. A dosa is a lightly fried crepe, and there are about a dozen variations, each with different fillings and spice combinations. The dosas are served with several sides for dipping or eating with pieces of the crepe. The Tandoori Chicken Tikka Kebab is another favorite. The chicken is marinated, baked in a clay oven, and brought out steaming hot on a sizzling platter. In addition to the dishes mentioned, Bawarchi offers many other classic Indian favorites. One word of warning: if you order spicy, they mean it--the heat level can definitely light you up!

It was INCREDIBLE! It's a fermented rice batter pancake (almost a crispy crepe texture) surrounding a potato filling with an array of sauces on the side. All of the dipping sauces were incredible. Absolute must try. I believe it can be hard to find traditional southern Indian cuisine, but I'll be back. We ordered some tandoori chicken, which was so moist and delicious. I had an order of the dal sag, which was great, too. We left with plenty of food to take home for leftovers. We also had the onion stuffed kafta, which was indulgent and delicious. The staff was so kind to even treat us to a gulab jamun at the end. My favorite :). I'll be back here again for sure. Absolutely worth the trip out to Hoover.

The sauce was luscious and velvety, even if it showed up tonight with a mild personality. I kept waiting for the heat to clock in for its shift, but apparently it had PTO approved. Still delicious though. The vegetable samosas were crispy on the outside with that delicate, comforting filling inside. No notes. Just solid. And the garlic naan? Dangerous. I told myself "just one more bite" at least seven times. It's garlicky, soft, and basically a carb trap I willingly fall into every visit. Now... the service. Let's just say if attentiveness were a spice, it was left in the kitchen. Our waitress vanished for extended periods like she was filming a documentary about the back of the restaurant. No check-in, no "how is everything," no interest in whether we were thrilled or quietly combusting. It felt less like dining and more like self-guided Indian cuisine. Food: still outstanding. Service: spiritually elsewhere. Four stars because the kitchen deserves it. The front of house might need a little masala of its own.

While we waited we looked around, a somewhat fun/odd juxtaposition of a pink tree and white phone booth with American and British cartoons on the two TVs I could see. The food was almost entirely excellent, we ordered different curry sauces and mostly white rice, and all but the butter curry were excellent, with some nice spice and a lot of flavor. The butter curry was liked by a few of us, myself I thought it lacked flavor and spice. The chicken curry was my favorite. I also prefer Manchurian Rice which was supposed to be high on the spice Meyer but only had a slightly spicy kick. I still enjoyed it more than the white rice. Eating the dishes tapas style was a lot of fun, mixing six or seven curries on white rice, spicy rice, noodles and nan bread ordered for an appetizer, it was quite pleasant, even though I quickly lost track of which curry was which. So many of them were so flavorful that I just enjoyed the ride. Our waitress was friendly and efficient, and the dishes, starting with appetizers, came out fairly quickly, well cooked and ample portions. One of us got a beryani dish, it was so big and intimidating that I didn't tackle it but the presentation was fun. A whole poached egg was delivered with it, I kind of think it could have been quartered and perhaps spiced up a bit - imagine deviled egg curry style! (Hint hint Hyderabad). Don't hesitate to visit, it's a cheerful, spicy spot for a great meal.

Also, I will forever love them for their uncanny ability to ensure the best wrapped to-go food. It arrives hot each time and has no spillage. It does not matter what I order, it comes well packaged. I think when they first opened, the prices were a bit shocking compared to other South Asian establishments, but their portions are generous, and the care they put into packaging and temperature control makes it worth it to me. This time, I ordered the Garlic naan and the cheese garlic naan. One of the best naans I have had here locally. It was still hot and fresh, cooked just right and full of flavor. I also had the Saag Paneer, which I usually get regardless of whether I get something else. It was piping hot and still the same great quality each time I have ordered it. This time, I had the chicken Korma Curry with it, and it was delicious, per usual. The meat proteins are always so tender and perfectly cooked. Yes, I had to get my staple Samosa Chaat. It is probably one of my favorite comfort dishes. The only disappointment this time was that they did not have a mango lassi. I just wanted mango, but they had a sweet lassi that was delicious, so I was satisfied. All in all, I adore this restaurant, and they have the nicest family, and their daughter is beyond kind and supportive of her family's restaurant.

They bring you water and naan to your table, keep tabs on you, and always have a smile. Especially Fatima :). I've tried replicating a dal at my house, and I can't do it. I don't have the touch. But lentil dal here, the saag (spinach) paneer, and the yellow veggies they always have at the buffet (I think it's korma) are my favorites. I came last night for their Birmingham Restaurant Week deal, which was $14 for a full meal: appetizer, entree, and dessert! The appetizers for the full dinner meals come out like sizzling fajitas, my favorite of the meats we had was the lamb. My mom's entree came with a smiley face :). The place itself is pretty casual, with Indian decor and always a little incense burning by the door. They have a full bar, beer, and wine, but my mom swears that diet coke was made to be paired with Indian food. Oh well... we place our order and wait. And wait. And wait some more. And wait a little more. Close to an HOUR of waiting. We finally get our food and head back home. Like I said at the beginning of the review, I was worried about the price, and it def. didn't live up to the quality/quantity. My rice was cold (HOW?!? After waiting an hour), the salad and naan were minimal, and so was the raita. My husband enjoyed the flavor of his chicken and fries, but again I don't think it was worth the cost. The person who gave us our food asked us to let him know how the food was, so here ya go... we won't be coming back.

I'm not sure why it took that long but that is simply not acceptable. As for the food, I had the waffle curry fries. It had a good amount of heat, and I enjoyed it. But not enough to wait that long again. It's not worth an hour of my time.

Their Uber Eats page is well-formatted, with all menu items listed, accompanied by descriptions and pictures of most items. My only issue with their menu on the app is that the descriptions were not very clear about whether an item came with rice or if it had to be ordered on the side. My order arrived quickly and came in a large brown paper bag. I chose the butter chicken, and it came with basmati rice. They were packaged separately, with the chicken and sauce in a large plastic container and the white rice in a small styrofoam box. I like that they separated the two to let the customer have control over the chicken-to-rice ratio. Plastic cutlery was provided as well. My food was still hot when it arrived and was full of flavor. It tasted like a very good homemade meal instead of something made with low-quality ingredients and little effort put into it. The sauce on the chicken was very creamy and absolutely delicious! The serving size left me plenty of leftovers, and I was very satisfied.

The staff is friendly and the food usually comes out very quickly, whether I'm dining in or picking it up. My go to order is the chicken korma with butter naan, and it is honestly one of my favorite meals. The chicken korma is creamy, flavorful, and pairs perfectly with the naan. They also give a very generous portion of rice, which I always appreciate because it makes the meal even more filling! The only small downside is that parking can sometimes be difficult, but I usually end up finding street parking nearby. I recommend this spot for a warm, comfort meal!
