We stopped into Knotty Pine on a Sunday for a couple beers and lunch. I had been to Knotty Pine for beers before but had never eaten there, although a few people I know, including my wife, had been there before and recommended the food. So the wife and I stopped in. It was quiteee busy as it was right around the noon brunch rush. We stood at the hostess stand for a bit before being welcomed. She then had to go clean off tables and was running in and out along with other servers. It seemed chaotic and everyone running around, which like I said, brunch rush and maybe understaffed, that makes sense. Our service once we ate felt kind of the same way. However, comparatively to other places for brunch, our wait was minimal. Was a little disappointed that only two Knotty pine beers were on tap and the rest of the taps were all guest beers. Part of the fun of checking out different breweries is checking out that breweries libations. Food was great. We split the pine pizza and got the stuffed tots. I highlyyyy recommend the stuffed tots. Get them. You will not regret it. Those were very good and the pizza was great as well. The crust on the pizza is so good and they do a great job. There were other things that looked really good as well. I really want to try the brisket Philly and see what that's all about as well as many other items. So many good apps too. All in all- we were there for longer than we would have liked to be but in the end, had a good experience, loved the food, and enjoyed each other's company. We will definitely be back, just maybe choose a different time of the day. read more

Great neighborhood brewery. I love coming to Knotty Pine because you never have to wait for a table and they have an awesome front porch you can sit on. I've brought my dog before, not sure if they still allow that, but the waitresses were always super nice to her even though she's shy. They've greatly expanded their menu since the last time we were here. I went with the burger and I wasn't disappointed! It had a ton of flavor and the bun was delicious. The buffalo chicken pizza was huge as well, they have a great crust on their pizza. The only thing I don't like is that they use chunks of onions in their sauce. Not gonna lie, this is another brewery that I usually opt for a guest draft. We were here for the Ale Trail this time though so I felt obligated to get one of their beers. I can't remember the name of the beer I went with, but it tasted like their light beer only with lemon infused. It was pretty citrusy and kind of fizzy. They have a small parking lot to the rear of the building, but there are usually spots on the street. Wednesday also happens to be trivia night starting at 7pm, and from what we saw the competition was pretty fierce! read more

Welp...it was pizza?! The crust was maybe frozen? It's hard to think otherwise given how flaccid and lacking in authenticity. Also...flavorless and there were four toppings so that's a feat. The one saving grace was the house made ketchup which likely had curry and cinnamon, but was the tastiest addition to hand-cut, soft (WAY soft) French fries. House beer...meh. Ventured over to Grandview Sunday to check out brunch at this place. And it was delicious. I ordered the brisket hash which was loaded with brisket, cheese, peppers and potatoes. Tons of flavor and a perfect size portion. Also to seal the deal, they have $2 mimosas as well! Which I definitely had my fair share of. The brunch is 10-2pm but you can still order mimosas after for just double the price, which is still not bad. Our server was great, kept the mimosas flowing. Our food came out pretty quickly too. The only non-positive things were the parking situation and they only had one menu left when we were seated. So my friend and I had to share. Not really a big deal obviously. Came here on Saturday for a pre game day brunch and was reminded of how much I love this place. I recommend coming around opening time for brunch on the weekends as it can get pretty busy. I love how they have rotating seasonal items and brunch priced cocktails. Right now they have caramel apple crepes - yes, they are as good as they sound! What I love most about their brunch is that it's different than typical diner food with lots of variety, but not at the extreme price that other brunch places are in the area. I dined here with some family and friends during 614 Restaurant Week this past July. The entire experience was heavily tainted by the atrocious service out on the patio where we were seated. It took us 2 hours to get our appetizer, main dish, and dessert... and the service was so sporadic that I couldn't even get my order for a second beer in. Combined with the fact that it was 80 degrees outside with not much of a breeze, the entire dining experience was grueling. I see bad service mentioned on multiple other reviews, so it appears to be a recurring problem here. Their food is OK. On paper, their food selection is full of yummy sounding foods... but in execution, none of them were particularly good. I would say that the food at Matt the Millers, The Crest, Old Skool, and CBC are all superior. I'd compare the food quality here to the food at the Winking Lizard. While that's not necessarily bad, it's not great either. Combined with the terrible service, it makes me not want to come back. Some of you might say, but Knotty Pine is a craft brewery! This is true, I have tolerated mediocre food to get access to a great selection of a microbrewery's offerings... like at Hoof Hearted Brewery and Kitchen downtown. However, despite being a craft brewery restaurant, Knotty Pine only offers 2 of their own beers on tap with all the other beers being from other breweries. And the 1 that I did try (The Mirror Lake IPA) was also only so-so. read more

Had the most awesome beer to start of the meal. It was knotty pine's own crab wheat which was amazing. It was flavorful but not too much. The service was okay, definitely room for improvement. Then sandwich and fries were good. I got the chicken BLT that came with a side of fries and they make their own ketchup which was really good. There is parking out front and a lot that can fit about ten cars in the back. We missed happy hour by only a few minutes but if you can get there before six on the weekends then I think their beers are all half off. I've been here several times. Knotty Pine is a hidden gem. I've always had a great experience. The staff is very friendly. They are diligent about keeping the restaurant clean, especially now during COVID. They do flights, which is a great way to sample their beer selection. They have excellent food, too. They have a big menu, so plenty to choose from. Most recently, I visited Knotty Pine for brunch. They have cheap mimosas and bloody Mary's! For brunch, we had breakfast nachos and biscuits with gravy. The biscuits and gravy come with eggs and bacon. The portion size is huge. The nachos come on a literal platter with salsas, sour cream, etc. Everything we had was great! Would highly recommend checking this place out. read more

We went to knotty pine last night for a early birthday dinner with some friends from out of town. The restaurant is a small dining room filled with wooden tables, we started the meal with drinks they have a very extensive beer list and we choose one from Rhinegeist it is called blizzy blast a fruit flavored beer. It was good but would have been better in a chilled glass as it wasn't super cold. Next we ordered food, what was ordered by the rest of the table was buffalo chicken and waffles, my friend said it was very good. Another friend ordered Brisket philly sandwich and he said it was one of the best philly he ever had. His wife had a burger and she really liked it. My wife had French dip and she said it was good as well. Now my order I ordered the stuffed tater tots and they were very tasty! I was torn between a burger and wings, our server sorry don't remember his name, said the dry rub wings are the best in the city! So I went with his suggestion and got the wings, when the wings came out they were a bit charred on one side and in browned on the other side. I didn't taste any dry rub, they tasted like just baked wings with sauce on the side. They were cooked properly just a little on the bland side. So based on the majority of the tables food is why the rating. I would come back but get something different next time read more

We sat at a table near (touching the bar) the bar we've been sitting for 10 minutes without being greeted or given water or acknowledged. Knotty Pine is one of the hidden bars in the Grandview area. It's located along 3rd Street. The bar serves up some house made beers along with other local brands. It's fairly cheap for the quality. They also have typical bar food. I always choose a selection from the in house made beers. It has some which are okay and some which aren't so much. The CherryWood Smoked Porter is my favorite. It's got a really strong malty taste. There are hints of cherry which add some much needed sweetness to it's overwhelming maltiness. It was the best of the house beers. The other good one is the Mirror Lake IPA. It's much better than the shit at CBC. There's not as much bitterness. It also has a food menu. The prices here are good too. Knotty Pine has a good happy hour from 3 to 6. The drafts are about $2 which is crazy. I like Knotty Pine enough to come back here. It makes their own beer which are not all that bad. The food is pretty forgettable though. read more

Came here after work as the beer menu was attractive. That's where the attraction ended. Plenty of signage indicating not to seat yourself, however once we were seated it was at least 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. On a Thursday night around 8, with not a lot of patrons in the restaurant, and it wasn't until I went in to flag someone down to take our drink order that we had any indication of service. Flights ordered for both myself and wife, and when the flight arrived one of my beers was less than half full and the rest of the cup was foamy head (pictured below). Seated outdoors on a nice evening and our table was stickier than Louisiana in July with no sign of cleaning in the past 5 hours. Also, I understand now why they only have one beer of their own. It was actually undrinkable. On paper it sounds delicious, however, I couldn't stomach the 4 oz pour as it just tasted of burnt malt. The food did salvage some of the experience admittedly. The stuffed tots while not appearing to have bacon in them as advertised, did have the flavor of bacon and the paprika ranch was tasty. The walleye dinner and ribs were both pretty good as well, however personally I wasn't a fan of the house ketchup, but that's just my personal taste. Will I recommend Knotty Pine to anyone, not at all, but that's purely based on the service experience. One unrelated perk, sitting outdoors did provide a great view of the sunset and plenty of doggos out for evening walks. Knotty Pine not again. read more

Came in on a slow Tuesday night for dinner. We wanted the patio, were sat, and waited for around 5-10 minutes before deciding to just go to the bar. Once we sat we waited for another 10 minutes before getting beers from the server that forgot us on the patio. Another bartender was only feet away, talking to a couple of guests he clearly knew (which is fine) but he did not acknowledge us at all and we sat without drinks and without having ordered food for quite some time. We didn't order food until 30 minutes after sitting, when the original waitress yelled at another bartender to "see if those two want to order." We finally did and then finished our beers over the course of the next 10 minutes or so. Wanting another round, we looked around for service, but (surprise!) didn't find any. We then watched the entire extremely inattentive staff take multiple shots together at the table in the corner. No problem serving themselves! Just weren't in the mood to serve their guests I guess! We also noticed a food runner falling asleep while the kitchen called for hands. Maybe one too many pickle backs, huh bud? Not sure when the next time I'll be back is. Disappointed each time I eat here. The atmosphere is great but the food continues to disappoint each time I give this place another chance. Service was poor too, we were seated outside and given our appetizer without silverware and had to ask another server for it after ten minutes. Additionally, the specialty app was jalapeño poppers, which ended up having bacon pieces in them. I'm vegetarian and this was not specified on the menu or by our server. I am honestly so disappointed in the service of this restaurant. We put our name down and they said they would call us in 30 minutes. After 30 minutes we walked back without a call and two groups walked right before us. Their names were not on the list and the hostess sat them down before us. It took them an additional 15 minutes to clean our table. There was no sense of urgency. After we finally got our table, the hostess brought us water but it was 12 minutes after we sat down...we still had not seen our server. Tables that sat down after us saw their server before us. We finally decided to leave and I asked to speak to a manager. I waited 5 minutes and she never came so we left. We have been here multiple times and love the patio. We live right down the street and genuinely looked forward to our lunch. After this experience, I am not sure I will ever go back. I felt truly disrespected as a customer. read more

Food is great but sometimes the service is god awful. I've been here before and have had good service. However, today we were seated at a table by the bar and it was pretty much unpleasant straight from the start as we were not greeted for almost ten minutes. Once waters came, we still did not have a chance to order drinks. I'd say those were not in front of us until twenty mins in.It seemed as if behind the bar servers were just not sure of where things were and kind of a mess. As for the next thing, I was given soup that was literally cold. I asked them to reheat it which they did but when brought back the second time no spoon. Along with this, way before this incident I asked for silverware and napkins but were not given them until I asked three time, literally. Food was fine but then when we were ready to leave, we asked for the check and waited another 15 or so minutes. Meanwhile, we could see the serve chatting and closing out a big table after we asked for our check. We ended up having to tell her to just run the card because we had to leave. I have had bad experiences far worse then this but the service just wasn't great at all. I also work in the industry and am fairly patient but this had me a little upset! read more

Met some friends here from out of town as it's a close option from my place. I've been here before, but just for drinks at the bar inside. It's a big dark inside, but since it's summer we ate outside which has a nice outdoor patio. There's a good craft beer selection and they even brew some of their own beers. The one I had a while back I wasn't a fan of so I opted for a cider. I ordered the veggie burger with no bun and a side salad. It came with guacamole on the side. It was overall good, but nothing special for the price. My friends got a pizza and a sub In which they said was good. The chozinos hash I had, I rarely eat black beans tried to order no black beans however I couldn't get no black beans due to they already premixed into the Chozinos. You can dress as causal as you want to because it is feels like homey and like you are in a log cabin Hocking Hills. There are many TVs to watch sports Big rectangle bar to sit around and beautiful open patio with overtop so you won't get wet in the rain pour. This is a great neighborhood spot. I love to sit at the bar for brunch on the weekends. First, best-ever $5 bloody mary bar in the city. They have mild and spicy house mixes and a myriad of garnishes. Plus, a full spread of Cajohn's hot sauces. It is the mist delicious and best-value bloody mary out there. As for the food, it's solid, but not the best-ever. I love the breakfast pizza and pulled pork nachos best. They also make great fries. They do in-house smoked meats, which is a plus. I tried the pancakes today and they were pretty perfect. This spot is also a micro brewery and they usually have 3 taps of house beer, but also have a great selection of other local and regional craft beers. They have a decent front patio, too, but I like sitting at the bar best. I recommend it to everyone because it's a solid neighborhood spot that has yet to disappoint. read more

Knotty Pine was on my list to try for a while so I am glad we finally got to stop in. First Impression: "Ahh it's so nice and warm here!" Finally, a restaurant that isn't freezing. Not only that, but they had some great live music playing as well. It was the perfect volume, a very pleasant atmosphere, and clean. I honestly wasn't a huge fan of their beers but they do offer many Knotty Pine and other brands to choose from. I was skeptical of the mussle fries and I am SO glad we decided to get them. The fries don't turn into a wet mushy pile. I honestly can't believe I had never thought to pair mussles and fries together before. The flatbread pizzas are real good! The veggie burger falls apart easily and needs a bit more binder. Still yummy though. My biggest complaint is the price. It was a tad expensive compared to similar restaurants. They're baked to perfection, with a beautiful dry-rub - I always ask for all the sauce options, but they honestly don't need it. The service has always been great, and the beer selection always caters to anyone wanting to try something new. The only reason I'm "knot" giving out 5 stars, is because the rest of the menu is just so-so in comparison to the wings. Caught the tail end of brunch hour, so the Bloody Mary bar was still up and kicking. For $5 the table was lined with pickled veggies galore and condiments and toppings out the wazoo! The brewery had an awesome selection of craft beers, many from other area breweries. I had a coconut cream ale that rocked my socks! This is a nice little spot to grab a drink and a quick bite without going all the way downtown. Parking was easy, they had a small lot behind the building. Street parking is also available. I give four stars because they only offer three of their own brews and the food was ok. Nothing bad just not a large selection. We showed up on a weekend and it was pretty dead. They did have a pretty cool Bloody Mary bar set up but we didn't par take. Overall nice outdoor seating area. Was in town visiting friends when we decided to check this place out and claim a stamp for our Columbus Ale Trail book. We sat at the bar and the server we started with was not personable at all and seemed cranky. Our interaction with her was brief as she brought our drinks then sat down to eat and never came back. The other lady who served us was friendly and helpful. I got a flight to try a couple of beers but there were no markings at all to indicate what was what, just a hurried explanation, so we were left trying to smell/taste, compare with the menu descriptions, and guess which beer was what. Music was definitely random, one minute we are hearing "Oh What A Night" then the next it's some obscene rap song then a mellow 90's song.
