Due to extenuating circumstances, my granddaughter had to cancel her wedding in Arizona and the following is email she sent to Ashley the owner: My mother was recently diagnosed w/stage IV metastic breast cancer and currently resides in Tennessee. As I am sure you know, this type of cancer is incurable and requires extensive ongoing treatment. With this in mind, we have moved the date of our wedding and changed location to Tennessee. I can't imagine getting married without my mom being there. We hope you will consider these circumstances and refund our deposit. If you require proof of the diagnosis, I would be happy to provide. We appreciate your compassion and understanding. Ashley's response was..."unfortunately our contract does NOT ALLOW us to refund the $1,000 non-refundable rental retainer even with extenuating circumstances..." As the owner of this establishment, I am going to assume she can, if willing, have some empathy and a conscience and do the right thing. Update: I cannot reply to the owner's response to my original review. There were some inaccuracies that I feel must be addressed. One, it was not communicated to me that I was texting a personal number, I was under the assumption my texts were going where they needed. Two, I am not sure who anything was "previously discussed with", as I have not heard anything since my texts in February. There also was no "delayed response" I just flat out never got one. To be clear, I have no wedding planner, which is why I was personally asking staff. I had a day of coordinator, which I thought was something different. Three, us canceling due to needing a bigger venue is a bold-faced lie. This further proves lack of professionalism as it was neither my fiancé, nor I, who brought it to the owner's attention. We wrote a cancellation letter as it stated to do so in our original contract informing we would not be moving forward due to being unsatisfied with the new ownership. Lastly, sure, the retainer not being able to be refunded is unfortunate, however, our interactions (and lack of) with Ashley are the most unfortunate experience here and is the only reason why we canceled. Ironically, it was our interaction with the original owner that solidified our decision to wed here. read more

This venue rescued my grieving family for a few hours Friday night. We held our celebration of life here, and it was the perfect place. The Knotty Barn is beautiful! The entire property is so peaceful and welcoming. The staff were gracious to say the least. We were greeted immediately, and made to feel welcome. The barn itself allows for plenty of seating, sanitary bathrooms & small kitchen area and the ability to have an open air event with a white fenced windmill backdrop... Perfect! I got married here October of 2020 and I still think about that day everyday. This venue made my dreams come true, with its indoor/outdoor layout, the pretty flowers, the arch, and the CHANDELIER, oh the chandelier!!! It's such a pretty venue that it was super easy to imagine myself getting married there. When the day came it was better then I could have imagined. It was really nice having a whole house for my wedding party and family (and it has a kitchen area so you get to make food if needed) to get ready in. We also had plenty of time to set up the tables and decor and stuff because they allow you to come in early in the morning. They whole thing was so smooth and robin was so accommodating the whole way thru. I'll post pictures because I'm better at showing you how wonderful this place is! read more

This place is truly magical. It is casual yet elegant and can be used for anything from a birthday, a celebration of Life or even the most intimate wedding. I was looking for a place to book my brother in laws celebration of life and while it is no event that anyone wants to plan, they were so warm and welcoming and the Venue was the perfect place to gain some peace and says our goodbyes. I attended a conference at the Knotty Barn from out of state and it was such a good experience. The grounds were very well manicured and beautiful. It was built by the owners themselves and what an amazing job they did, the barn and decor was like walking into a scene out of the 1800's and inside the barn, and rooms were very glamorous with beautiful antiques and Chandeliers that made you feel warm and welcome! Robyn and Ray greeted everyone with enthusiasm and exuberance. I really enjoyed the conference and gained important information and support in dealing with my current medical condition. Awesome experience beautiful venue couldn't be more pleased especially if you want to have breakout sessions. For large events we had just over 200 people at our event during Covid and the staff and everyone associated with the event was mindful of safety. There's sanitizer everywhere your temperature is checked before entering the grounds, all precautions were taken facilities are fantastic. Lots of stuff happening since covid. Unfortunately the wedding isn't going to work due to money situations mainly and family issues going on right now. Tried to see if they'd understand my situation and they just said we are all in this together and they can't do much about it unless I want to reschedule. So this is a very Beautiful place! And the actual owners of the venue are super nice! But once the wedding started there was this guy that we never seen before nor was told that he basically was going to be running the show. From what it felt like. He kept going to our DJ telling him to turn the music down under 89 DB which we were never told about. They told us about a 10pm noise Compliance but not through the whole wedding. He also was rushing my guest out. And made them feel uncomfortable. I didn't like being told by my guest that they felt being rushed just so they could just clean up and have an early night. Also at the end we were waiting on one more truck to put the rest of our stuff in, it's was 10:20 and they came out and told us we needed to hurry up and leave cause the cleaning crew was coming. Even tho technically we had the venue til 11. Really confused? Other then the guy we didn't know or was introduced to it was a beautiful night. Not a place for a real party. read more

My family attended a wedding at this venue last night. It was such a beautiful, well taken care of property. It was so neat to be around the farm animals (horse, cow and emus). The ceremony area was so quaint and comfortable. There were beautiful light lining the property that made it very festive and pretty. If I could leave a 0 star review I would. They care solely about cash flow and not at all about your day being everything you imagined it to be. We had our wedding booked for February 14, 2021 with them and due to all the craziness going on in the world right now my Fiance and I unfortunately had to put our wedding on hold for financial and personal family health reasons. Even with our date being so far out and all the uncertainty in the world, they refused to give us a cent back from our deposit. I have never met with or talked to such inconsiderate people, who are nothing but money hungry and are willing to go as far and take from those that are less fortunate during these times. They were in no way understanding or sympathetic to our situation and didn't even offer an apology or good explanation. I would NOT RECOMMEND this venue to anyone, unless you want to potentially be out $1000's of dollars. Such a sad and devastating experience. read more
