Today was my first time visiting Knots and Found in Martinez. I had called asking if they would be able to help a few of my neglected plants. They were super friendly and said to bring them in and they could help me. Christopher was super kind and knowledgeable. He said he'd have no issues fixing them up. I left them there and the service took about two hours. When I came back, my once very sad looking plants, looked fresh and revived! Christopher explained care instructions that were helpful to someone like me, who doesn't have a "green thumb". I was very impressed by the service. The shop itself is beautiful and bright. I was walking around, and saw two very happy women unloading these beautiful plants from a crammed-full truck. I thought "ohhh that looks fun" and it turns out they run a plant store! And what a plant store. It's two room of gorgeous, very well taken care of plants that are also super reasonably priced. None of that wild, unreasonable, "pay a lot because I bet you will" stuff. There's also a great selection of vases, prints, tools, and the AIR PLANTS! Amazing. I wish I could figure out how to format the pictures of my actual plants I got because they are gorgeous. The same day I discovered the I bought bingo tickets for my mom and I, for the next day. It was so much! The lovely women told me that people bring snacks- my mom and I brought Trader Joe's snacks, one group brought Taco Bell, another brought sandwiches- I loved it. Super fun, easy, people are friendly, it's not more than like 15 people, and the mocktails were delicious. I don't drink alcohol so I really appreciate a good mocktail- these were fantastic. (I know they're done by a local, award-winning small business but can't recall their name.) The employees are soooo nice! So informative, so friendly, so casual but also very professional and helpful. Go here. Go here, go here. I spent the day with my Mom and Sister in Martinez. My sister was very excited to show me this place as we both love plants. Let me tell you that this place is AWESOME!!! Two rooms filled with beautiful, healthy and colorful plants of all variants as well as some cute gifts (plant stakes/decor/pottery, etc). The shop keeper is very knowledgeable and happy to help and answer any questions. The prices are a bit high, but I am willing to pay a bit higher for the quality of plants. This is my happy place! The moment you step in you're surrounded by all the beautiful plants that they have to offer. I came in because it was time for my succulent to be re-potted and Rachel was there helping me out. For those who know me, I have no green thumb and sadly many plants have died including succulents. That being said the staff here is quite amazing, knowledgeable and always open to my questions about how to take care of my plants which I've now kept alive for almost 2 years! The price of plants depend what you are looking for and same goes for re-potting as they have to look at the actual plant. EXPENSIVE. But if you don't mind paying premium price, this place is a good place to find trending plants. Definitely curated selection. They have lots of string of XXX - pearls, hearts, turtles, bananas, etc. I would definitely equate this to a boutique. They've done the work for you, hence the price. I did not notice soil or pots, so just go to Home Depot for that. Or if you don't mind driving to Lafayette, just go there and get your plants (both indoor and outdoor), pots, and soil there. This is next to Cielo Brewery, so after you shop, you can go hang out there. read more

This cute little greenhouse safe haven gives me so many beautiful vibes! I resurrected my love of gardening during quarantine. I was scrolling on Instagram looking to find local plant shops to support near me, and I found this gem! They have such a huge variety of greenery! And all the plants are so vibrant and healthy!!! The customer service is excellent! I took time to ask questions about tips on nurturing my plant babies, and the staff was very helpful! Ordering was sooo easy! Oh boy is my wallet in so mcuh trouble after describing this amazing wonderful little spot! I mean this is the cutest little place! I wish my home was this full of plants! Well after finding this spot I just might have a replica! This cute little shop is filled to the brim with with all the plants!! There are snake plants, ferns, succulents, cacti and more! After a very hard time deciding which plants I want I picked out two amazing plants and headed to the register. As I was ringing out the lovely lady at the register asked me about where my palnt was going and the light situation. Sadly and thankfuly she let me know that the plants I fell in love with while they looked amazing they would not live very long in my space. She then took the time to go over all the plants she offered that would survive in my space. I ended up leaving with a snake plant and a prothos. Both are amazing and while they are not what I originally chose i love them just the same! (Well maybe more since they will actually survive!) read more

Finally got to visit this cute little shop in downtown Martinez. They have curbside pick up on the left and on the right where you enter for walked-in. Only one group allowed at a time. Of course Wear your face covering. You sanitized before you enter. Wendy greeted me with her welcoming pleasant smile. She's so nice, helpful and friendly. I can't say enough good things about Knots & Found! It is my absolute favorite plant shop and I feel weird if I even think about buying a houseplant somewhere else. Wendy, the woman who works here, is SO friendly and knowledgeable. I go into the shop maybe once a month, but after just 2 visits Wendy remembered me. I brought my parents in and the next time I went after that, Wendy asked how my parents' new plants were doing! She seems to really value her regulars, but is also really warm and welcoming to new faces as well. The plants are all super healthy and I haven't had a problem with anything that I've bought. I don't think I've looked at any plant in the shop and thought "that doesn't look well cared for." Everything is green, growing, and happy. The selection is also fantastic! You can almost guarantee that you'll find what you're looking for as long as it's not super rare. The online shop doesn't always have an accurate representation of what's actually in the store, so I highly recommend going in person to shop if you're able to. The prices are pretty reasonable and on-par with other similar shops. As a couple of examples, I got a 6" peace lily for about $20, an 8" ficus tineke with 3 plants in the pot for $55. It's not cheap but it's not outrageous, in my opinion. And I'd rather spend a little more to know that the plants I'm buying aren't on life support at Home Depot. The selection of pots and other goods is a nice touch, too. I think my favorite part of picking out a new plant is going to the other room and picking out a pot for it! They also custom-made a wooden stand for one of my pots that was too big for the stands they had in stock. Overall, I highly recommend that you check out Knots & Found the next time you're shopping for a plant. You won't be disappointed! read more

I absolutely LOVE this store! I moved to the peninsula a few months ago but I try to drop in here whenever I'm in the area. The employees are always so sweet and incredibly knowledgeable! This is great because as a new plant owner, I have no idea what I'm doing. On my first trip here I got a little string of pearls, not knowing that they are notoriously difficult to keep alive. Well I followed the employee's care directions to the letter-- and now I have a beautiful, healthy, thriving string of pearls! I cannot speak more highly of the people at Knots and Found. Finally was able to make it down here on a Sunday! I've been following them on Instagram and heard about them through a friend. There were so many cute plants, macrame hangers and pots inside! I wish I could remember the names of the plants I purchased but I will have to include the pics of them! I purchased 3 plants and was in there for quite some time. The owner was so sweet! I'm not one to have a green thumb and was able to ask her different questions about plants I have at home and ones around the store. She was very knowledgeable on how often you should water/fertilize each of them and what ones that would require humidity. There were so many plants to pick from!
