Prices seem right and food always good. Love that they have candy on demand. Looking forward to trying more menu items.

Best BLT and fries in western Hanover! Friday night specials are fantastic as are the homemade desserts.

There's a sports bar section and plenty of indoor tables and booths, good for big groups as well. The ambiance here is dark and casual-classy. This place is nice for a date night or group outing if you like seafood. They also have a happy hour from 3-6 from Monday-Friday. The service here is okay. The restaurant was pretty empty on a Thursday night and our food came out relatively quickly. The food was mid and very expensive. The lobster dip was seasoned well but only had 4 pieces of lobster in it. It came with a good amount of chips though. The $19.99 lobster and shrimp Thursday special came with ~15 garlic shrimp and a lobster tail + chesapeake fries. Everything was seasoned okay, but some of the shrimp evidently weren't de-veined and the lobster meat was a bit tough. The chesapeake fries were delicious and crispy. The cheddar bay biscuits are a hit as always too! The brownie overload was my favorite thing of the night. It's a lot bigger than expected and well worth the $10.99. The warm brownies paired well with the sweet whipped cream and decadent ice cream. Would recommend ordering to share with 2 other people. I personally am not a seafood fan, but wanted to see what the hype was about because of the viral endless shrimp trend. That's no longer going on except on Mondays, but they do have shrimp entrees if you're into that.

Really turned me off when I saw it was not deveined. I expected sandy bites but not that. So gross. My second biggest turn off was the amount of butter they put on their mashed potatoes and fried potatoes it was sitting in pools of butter. It was just too much

Today my wife wanted to get some fish and I was already down with the plan. We went to our spot…read moreSugar's and we were the first in line and had a short wait no more than 20 minutes since they started serving people. I ordered the just fish that comes with ten (10) pieces. Yes count them 1, 2,3,...10. Just like the Count on Sesame Street. Everyone is locked on right. I paid the money and the guy at the counter charged me for how many? Ten (10) fish pieces. After my short wait, my order was ready. The guy at the window showed me the fish looking golden brown and delicious. Hot piping hot. I said they looked good and ready for liftoff. Got to the car and my wife and I were happy at the time. After several hours and other stops we made it home. We live in Baltimore Md. A short 4 hour ride away. When my wife had unpacked the food and she asked me did I eat any fish? I said No? If I had she would have killed me before the plate got cold. She said that then they (Sugar's) did not give us piece number 10. The Boss was not happy and neither was I. Now I don't mind paying for delicious food and will do again. What I do mind is paying for fish that does not appear on my plate. I felt RIPPED OFF! If someone in the back of the house can't count to ten (10) and your employing someone who doesn't know how to count to 10, I am wondering what else is going on in the back of the house. Advise 1) Moving forward I will ask them to count them before accepting the finished product 2) Don't buy the Onion Rings. My wife does not care for them and she is an Onion ring person. Let's do this again but I'm bring the Count with me and the number 10 JUST TO MAKE SURE WERE CLEAR!

I pulled into the parking lot and this place has a unique setup. All the tables are outside similar to checkers. The place looks like it belongs in a dessert or South of the Boarder based on the color which is odd as well. They take your orders at the walk-up window. When I originally arrived, I didn't see much business but while I waited for my food the cars were pouring in left and right. My hopes for the food increased. There is a menu on the outside that is somewhat difficult to read and navigate. A ton of options with some whopping prices. I ended up ordering the 1 Snack and Fries. I wanted something good but also light as I had another place in Richmond I wanted to try. $14.99 seemed good until I saw this bogus, Local meals tax on top of the state sales tax. This caught me off guard. I ended up waiting in my car for about 20 minutes and later heard my name called over the microphone. The gentleman showed me the food, and it was 3 large pieces of fish. The fish was delicious. The fish was Cooked well, and I could taste the flavor. Way more than I expected. Tartar sauce elevated the flavor. The fires were piping hot and good as well. I wish I had some ketchup, but they were still good. I loved that they were salted but if I had high blood pressure I should have stayed away. You can see the salt on the fries. They were good to me. Overall if I were in Richmond again, I'd definitely stop. The food was good. I would definitely try more options. The customer service was good. The cashier and food distributor were on their A game. Outside could use some love and care but it is what it is.

WASTE OF TIME !!!!!…read more On Saturday August 22nd 2026 at 3:15 P.M. I wanted to try their food, so I went to their website and saw that I could get $5 off for my first online order, so I went ahead and clicked on that offer. I loaded up my cart and attempted to checkout. I received an error message stating that the system could not "create a POS transaction" or something to that effect. I assumed that I had made some sort of error entering my information or CC number. I reviewed my order and checkout instructions and tried again. I received the same error message about 3 more times, even after logging out and logging back in and trying to reload the cart and reenter all of my CC information a few more times. I switched from my phone to my laptop and continued to try and place an order, to no avail. I received the same response each time regardless of the method and information. I began to wonder if the $5 off coupon was the "issue". When my multiple attempts failed, I decided to call place my order or at least let them know of the issue. That was a huge mistake. They use an AI system to take calls and it gives limited choices. When I explained my issue to the AI bot, it immediately sent a text link to my phone, while I am still talking to the bot. It said, "the best way to order is to visit our website and I will send you a link now", then my phone pings with the link. The link was directly back to the same exact broken website. Completely useless !!! I decided to call again and request to speak to ( imagine this) a real LIVE person. Ha...right? Like that was going to happen. So the bot gives the option of "Manager", so that is what I requested. It played some music for a few seconds, then returned to inform me that all of their staff were "busy" at the moment and proceeded to end the call after thanking me for WASTING my time. I attempted to call a couple of more times thinking that eventually someone would be available to (get this) speak to a customer, which resulted in the same frustrating ending. After about an 45 minutes of this complete nonsense, I decided to go to another BBQ place about 3 miles from this restaurant. I ordered the food in about 4 minutes online. In about 30 minutes I was back at home enjoying a wonderful BBQ meal with ribs, pulled pork and even some catfish with great homemade sides. So if you would like to order a good meal online with no hassles, avoid this place. The very least they could do is ANSWER THE PHONE.

Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and helpful with menu suggestions. We started with the fried pickles appetizer, which was the highlight of the meal--crispy, flavorful, and definitely worth ordering. Based on our waitress's recommendation, I ordered the pork skillet, but unfortunately it wasn't very tasty. The fish and skillet platter was decent, but it would have been better with tartar sauce, which wasn't available. I also wasn't a fan of the barbecue sauce. Overall, the service was excellent, and the staff made us feel welcome. However, the food didn't quite meet my expectations. While I'm glad I gave it a try, I probably won't be back.
