Best restaurant in Goochland. The feel is modern and clean. It's not too crowded and there is good light inside, which makes it feel comfortable. There is a full bar, so if you want to get your drink on, they probably have what you are looking for. The menu isn't overwhelming with choices, but the options are solid. They are on the healthier side. This menu has the most vegetables that I've ever seen anywhere, so it's nice to have a choice of something that's not potatoes or bread. I had the caprese bruschetta and caesar salad. Both were really flavorful and beautifully presented. It makes a difference in the level of enjoyment, and I am glad we came here. read more

Went for lunch. The restaurant was busy but not overcrowded. Service was excellent. I had the focaccia pesto chicken sandwich with sweet potato waffle fries. The chicken was juicy -not dry and focaccia was very good. The sweet potato fries are addictive!! My friend had the Ceaser salad with shrimp. She enjoyed it. We hadn't seen each other in a while and the waitress could tell and let us catch up while still being attentive. The restaurant is cute. We had a great dinner here. We brought both kids and showed up around 6:40pm, late for us, but I had just voted after my husband got off work. Kids hung tight and it all went well! Server was friendly and the place was pretty full, with folks who looked like they might be regulars sitting at the bar and a few tables full too. The food came out fairly quickly and was all tasty! I had the shrimp tacos, which were filling and definitely not stingy, but I'm a hungry person and also currently pregnant so I did wish they came with a side. My husband had the French dip sandwich which looked awesome and he enjoyed. The sidewinder fries are really delicious! (I of course snuck a few from my husband and son). We have been meaning to try this place since we moved to the area but only finally got around to it. We'll definitely be back, plenty on the menu looked like something I wanted to try. The vibe felt upscale but still warm and inviting. This one's worth the slight (~5m) side trip off of I-64 between Richmond and Charlottesville. The Banger shrimp was delicious.

I absolutely LOVED Eccoti! Eccoti means 'here you are' and they serve up Southern European with a bit of Italian fare. They offer both a lunch/dinner menu as well as HH specials. The hubs and I were in the area, and we decided to order a carry-out from here. I placed a phone order of the following: Banger Shrimp (crispy shrimp in a mild red pepper cream sauce; this was absolutely DELICIOUS! The shrimp were large in size, deveined, and perfectly cooked - they were fresh, juicy, and so plump, and the sauce was so addicting! If you're a fan of creamy shrimp appetizers, you won't be disappointed in this dish!); Pimento Cheese Dip (homemade pimento cheese with a seasoned fried pita; this was just okay, but I did enjoy the fried pita - these were so crunchy and tasty!); Grilled Chicken Skewers (served with a sesame BBQ sauce; the chicken was cooked well and they had a great grilled taste to them; wasn't really a fan of the sauce, though); Fried Green Tomatoes (served with a spicy bam bam sauce; the tomatoes had a light batter to them, and the tomatoes were juicy; I actually preferred eating them naked, rather than using the sauce); and, a Fried Flounder Sandwich (came with lettuce, tomato, and tartar sauce on a brioche bun; you had a choice of sidewinder fries or sweet potato waffle fries, in which I chose the sidewinder - the flounder was so flaky and yummy; perfectly fried, and it was great! The sidewinder fries were nothing that I have seen before - kind of like thick ridged versions of corkscrews, but the thickness of steak fries - they were tasty!). The staff here were super friendly, welcoming, and kind, and everyone was dressed with a smile! Top notch at every level. We had a mid to large size party on a Sat evening with an appointment. Our server was on point and the rest of the team assisted in our every need. We all ordered entre meals that came out together and hot. The seafood was prepared well, chicken was tender and the pork chops were seasoned well. The tiramisu was everything I had heard and much more, delicate and just sweet enough. Other desserts ordered lemon cake and choc tort that were consumed just as quickly. I've eaten at Eccoti twice now - but wanted to wait for consistency before I reviewed. Their burgers are EXCELLENT and they make a mean Manhattan. Being new to the area, you never really know what to expect - but Eccoti came highly recommended and I see why. It'll be nice to have such a solid place close by. Their menu looks amazing! I cant wait to try more of what they have to offer. There is definitely something for everyone. The burger was really delicious! Seasoned so perfectly that I could have even done without the LTO because the meat shined on its own. Next time I'll throw some bacon on there and call it a day. I really liked the sidewinder fries too. This will definitely be my go to place in Goochland. Some comments I'd make: - Our server was not as attentive as I would have liked. My friend asked for no onions and no tomatoes. Both came on his plate. It may have been an honest mistake but hes actually really allergic to onions so if he would have taken a bite without seeing it, we would have had a huge issue. She straight up told us it was her fault so I can appreciate the honesty but at the same time there was only 2 or 3 tables in the entire restaurant so it makes me wonder how she forgot within a minute of taking our order. We had to flag her down and she did correct it and apologized. Once he got the right order she waited until we were halfway through our food to make sure everything was okay. I am the type that wants a server to check back within a few minutes in case something is wrong. If the place was super packed I would be more understanding but it's not acceptable when there is only 2 tables. read more

Only losing a star because My recent trip I ordered the grilled salmon with spinach risotto. The salmon needed just a dash of salt to be perfect. The risotto needed some help, it didn't seem to be cooked traditionally, it was a bit watery and flavorless. A little cream and parmigiana would go a long way there. Its always good when i find good local places from the area i am from and Eccoti is definitely one of those! I remember growing up in this area of Goochland County always wishing there where more food options around. Especially stuff on the scale of Eccoti. The restaurant has a small town vibe to it with modern touches inside. Was greeted by a friendly hostess/waitress and was taken to my seat. There menu has a good assortment of stuff on it but i was there for lunch and wanted to try a a sandwich. I ended up getting the fried flounder sandwich and sidewinder fries. Everything was great the flounder had a good batter on it and the sandwich was well put together. The only thing i wish that i got more side winder fries. Those where really good but gone before i knew it lol. I really recommend this place even if you not in the Goochland area its worth a short drive from wherever you are. read more
