For the Too Good to Go package I was given a bag that had a savory croissant sandwich in it and a box that had two large sized pieces of some kind of flaky pastry with cheese in it. The croissant had cheese on top and some kind of deli meat in the middle. I don't eat meat so I warmed this up for my husband and daughter to share. The flaky pastry with cheese I saved and warmed up for breakfast with my daughter the next day. A bit of Google searching has told that those flaky pastries are Cheese Pitas. It's a mix of feta and cottage cheese inside. Always a gamble with Too Good to Go. I probably wouldn't have ever thought to order these foods if I'd walked into the shop and ordered regular price. I see that as a plus though, not a minus. I kinda like trying things I wouldn't normally think to try. The pastry on both the croissant and cheese pita were both very flaky. I still prefer the sweets here over the savory items but the savory items are pretty good too. If you like flaky pastries, this is a pretty good place for that!

They gave a disclaimer to wait "20 minutes" before eating because it was still frozen. Brought them home and attempted to consume maybe an hour later. It was strangely still cold and slightly frozen. I expected more fruit or more actual cake taste. Perhaps these were to be sorbet/gelato cakes as it was strange to eat these so cold. Cakes themselves were well presented. (Thanks a lot Gemini!) Anyways, I remembered that I had seen some nice looking desserts at this Rustic Bread bakery so I thought, now's my chance to try them at regular price. The Tiramisu wasn't bad but not something to write home about either. I think I will stick with bread from this place. They are after all called Rustic Bread Bakery, so...bread is their focus. Service is friendly and efficient, which is important because the bakery gets seriously busy. There are a few tables both inside and outside if you want to enjoy your treats there. The viennoiseries are spot-on. The chocolate croissant tasted authentic, the flan was amazing, and the Chocolate Suisse had just the right amount of sweetness. Wife loved the apricot custard danish. The one we wanted wasn't in the case so I asked a clerk if they had the fresh fruit one. She said they did and went to the back room to get it. I'm not sure if it was a-day-old-cake or if they made quality-cuts to their products, because that evening when we cut it up to enjoy, the cake was dry and did not have a nice density. The fruits were soft. Not a ripe-soft. More like old fruit soft. On the plus side, they still use fresh whipped cream, and their 2-bite size chocolate cake is as yummy as ever.
