It was a last-minute decision on our part, and we really appreciated how accommodating Kevin and Meg were. We were absolutely thrilled with how our engagement photos turned out, and we still get compliments on them to this day! We were also especially touched by Kevin's dedication--he shot our engagement session shortly after his wife (Meg) had just given birth. We had the pleasure of working with Jenna and did not regret it at all! Through our first initial conversation through email, I could tell right away that she would be such a joy to work with. I also mentioned to her that I am very camera shy and that we don't know how to pose and stuff. She assured us that everything would go smoothly. We considered our package to be very affordable for what was offered and it also came with an engagement shoot. Initially, we were going to do our engagement shoot at the arboretum, but then changed our minds since my sister sent me "hong Kong 80s theme" Pintrest board. I reached out to Jenna to see if this was doable, and she mentioned that it was, however it wouldn't be exactly the same since the style is slightly different (which wasn't a big deal to me at all). On the day of our engagement shoot, we met up with Jenna in Chinatown and she gave me a hug right away like we were friends that haven't seen each other in a long time and it made me feel a lot more comfortable. We spent an hour with Jenna and we did a lot of different poses and at different settings as well. Side Note: I wasn't happy with my HMU trial and my outfit at all that day. I also had one dry eye that was watering all day long, messing up my makeup. That day was a mess. However, when the pictures came in, I was SOOOOO in love and so happy with how the pictures turned out. I am not a photogenic person (most of the pictures I take, my eyes are closed) but Jenna made me feel so confident and beautiful. She is so talented and I am so glad we had the opportunity to work with her! She also made Chinatown look SO beautiful in the pictures. I can't believe this is Chinatown, because it def does not look like that in person LOL. On the day of the wedding, my HMU went so much better and the day was very smooth. We first found KLV when we were searching for our venue. We saw their photos of the Los Angeles River Center and Gardens which exuded a dreamy garden party escape that we were hoping for our wedding. After we booked the venue, we had to go with the photographer that made us fall in love with the venue. We worked with Meg to book their services and coordinate engagement/wedding details. She was so easy to work with and bounce ideas off, it made the whole process of booking a session and planning things stress free. Kevin was our engagement shoot photographer. He made our session so much fun! We loved the different locations he found across Arts District and Pasadena. He was also a good director, helping us pose and look our best. The photos also came back so quickly, my only problem was that there were too many good ones to choose from (a good problem to have!!) Kevin was also the primary shooter for our wedding day, mainly following Alyssa around. He was so easy going and after our experience with our engagement shoot, we felt confident he was going to get all the best shots. He was good with working on the fly, pulling random items from the background to create texture in our details photos and going along with the random ideas that popped into Alyssa's head on the day of. Michael was our second shooter, mainly following Oliver and his groomsman around. He was very easy to work with and got along really well with all the groomsmen and our dog Kuma (a top priority because Kuma is a shiba - so he's really shy normally). He was accommodating to the ideas the groomsmen were throwing at him but had his own ideas as to what he needed to capture as well. Most of Oliver's gifts and details were different pairs of sneakers so I did also appreciate how well the sneakers were arranged and how good they looked in the photos. KLV was such a pleasure to work with! We love their photojournalistic/timeless style which caught our eye when searching for a photographer! Honestly, our experience with them was the highest quality possible. We initially discussed wedding details with Meg, who helped us understand what packages were right for our wedding needs. Communication with Meg was quick and easy which was very professional! She referred us to Jenna and she did not disappoint at all! We were nervous at first getting our photos taken, but we vibed so well with Jenna from the start. She was able to capture intimate as well as fun moments during the shoot. We received the photos in a timely manner as Jenna promised and we loved each and every photo captured! For our wedding day, we had Jenna as the lead shooter as well as Sean for the second shooter. Once they arrived the morning of our wedding, we literally didn't have to tell them what to do. They were already scoping the area for their shots and were already in the zone. They organized every shot and made the morning super stress-free. At the airbnb, ceremony site, and reception, Jenna and Sean worked together to get every detail and shot we asked for! I remember when I was first planning our wedding, my family and friends encouraged me to get a good photographer because the wedding photos were one of the few memories we would keep from our wedding day. So, I researched high and low & finally, came across KLV photography on Instagram. And boy, did they blew our mind away. They were very responsive, reliable, and always put so much importance in our wedding even thought they probably shoot hundreds of weddings a year. We first did a webcam session with them & instantly fell in love with them. They offered many packages & we chose the one that included an engagement session & coverage for 8 hr on our wedding day. We met Jenna at our engagement session & knew she was meant to be our photographer. She was super friendly & didn't make us feel awkward one bit as she helped guide us as she took our photos. Jenna also did our wedding day with her partner & it was truly an honor to have them shoot our wedding day. They were like guests & all our bridal party loved them. They go above and beyond to help create timeless, beautiful photos. And before that, even helped formulate a photo timeline with us & went as far as asking us for photo shots we wanted. I sent her my Pinterest wedding lookbook before our wedding day & she made sure to deliver every shot my husband and I wanted. They made our wedding day so special & not only did the KLV team shoot the most beautiful photos, we received our photos so quick! We were expecting to wait months for our photos, but it came just a few weeks later. We felt the emotions and love in every photo they took. When we were looking for photographers, what was most important to us was working with a someone who values capturing memories as is over super-posey pictures. We knew immediately when we came across KLV's IG that we wanted to work with them before ever meeting with them. We first spoke with Meg to finalize our contract and she was very accomodating of all our adjustments. We had opted out of an engagement shoot so the first time we met Kevin and Sean were on our wedding day. Immediately, they had such a calming energy and made us all feel so comfortable. When we were posing for our photos, Kevin and Sean provided guidance on how we should pose and we could tell that they had a clear vision in their heads. We had a wedding of 175 and they managed to capture everyone in their element. Sean took photos of my husband and his groomsmen and they all kept saying how fun he was to work with. He had quirky poses for them to do and they had a great time laughing through it. Now, we were expecting to get our photos back at least 3 months after the wedding but to our surprise, the team provided our photos just ONE MONTH AFTER!!! My husband and I turned a random weeknight to a date night to go through the THOUSANDS of photos. My goodness, wow. The two of them captured everything. From the little details that we didn't get to see to capturing our guests and us. There were moments where I didn't even realized that they were there for!! I swear they moved stealthily throughout the day. We look back at these pictures and we are reminded of what a magical day we had. Pictures of us grinning ear to ear, dancing, singing, with our extended family, with our friends, just wow. Our grand entrance happened outside in the rain and while the photos captured the rain, it also captured both our reactions clearly.
