The staff want participants to have a great time and achieve success in their escape challenge, and so they are flexible with each group. The storyline for Moonshiners escape is historical and hysterical fun! With lots of hints and teamwork, we followed the clues and achieved our goal. Next time we think we'll do the Mad Scientist room, although we understand there are two more rooms upcoming, so that leaves us more good choices. The decor in the waiting area and design of the Moonshiners escape room/s were super-duper! Wooden mind-twisting puzzles made our wait to start fun. Lockers secured personal items. We did the Moonshine Escape Room and were able to close it out (4 person minimum). We arrived in time and they have a nice waiting area with a few games to play. Our host Mark came out almost immediately and explained the rules to us and offered us space in the locker - which is a cool offer I haven't had in other escape rooms. He created the room himself, which was cool to know. As he mentioned, the room was more mentally challenging than finding stuff like many other rooms I've been to. Came here w/ some friends for a belated birthday adventure. We signed up for the Mad Scientist room and were paired w/ a father and son to make 6 of us for the room. The owner was polite and check in was quick. We got the backstory and some rules and off we went. I have only done a few escape rooms but this was the most fun out of all of the, At first it felt like pandemonium w/ everyone talking all at once but once we all got into the groove, it was a ton of fun. Making sure that everyone is included in giving their two cents is key to solving the puzzle. Even though we needed some help w/ a few clues, teamwork really makes it happen. We got out of the room with about a minute and a half to spare, it was that close. After the celebratory photo, we asked a few questions about the room and the owner explained that all the contraptions are made in house. Decorations are found and props are made specifically for each room by the owner, now that's dedication. We had a lot of fun and I would for sure come back to try another room. This is great for all ages and I highly recommend KLUES. read more

I am giving a detailed review, on balance my entire group had an excellent time. The good: the owner is great. Very friendly, makes you comfortable with the room. The escape room is clean and inviting. The design is focused on puzzles and not on searching for hidden things (there is a bit of that, but it isn't an exercise in endless searching). The bad: no free parking. You will be feeding a meter. This isn't a big deal, but it would be nice if there were some parking spots. If you aren't familiar with the area and don't have quarters ready to go then you may be in trouble. You won't find parking for free within two blocks and I didn't look farther. Once you have done the room there is no going back to it. The more escape rooms you do the more you will recognize the tropes. This room was focused on math puzzles, not puns or wordplay and I would have enjoyed a bit more of a mix. The ugly: you can ask for clues whenever you want. There is no limit on how many clues you can get. You may deprive yourself of some fun if you give up too early. You can also accidentally advance faster than you had anticipated by doing the right things for the wrong reasons. read more

Owners were courteous and professional. The first room we booked had some technical difficulties so they offered to let us do the other room free of charge. Both of the rooms were designed and furnished (very well) to match the story of each scenario. The puzzles fit into the story lines very well and did not feel like they were dropped into the room. Many of the puzzles involved triggered trap doors and are very dynamic, which added to the sense of accomplishment in finishing a given puzzle. Out of 4 or 5 different establishments I have gone to this one was among the best. The owner assured us that he would iron out the gremlins in the first room we did and I trust he will. I have done both rooms at this location and they are both well planned and thought out. I have done a number of rooms in other locations and I can honestly say these are the 2 best I have done. They are creative, unique, and don't make you search in ridiculous places for clues so you're not wasting time. It's definitely more of a mind exercise here. I can't wait for them to open up their other rooms. The owners are extremely nice and accommodating (the first time I went I had a group of high schoolers with me on a field trip). This place is AWESOME! My children and I voted this as the funnest activity we did on our 2-week vacation! This was the first Escape Room we have ever tried, but are definitely down for more in the future. It is easy to find the place since it is located on a main street in a busy shopping district. Important to know that you will need to pay for parking at the meter if you come here M-F, 9-6 so bring your change. The owner is incredibly personable, making you feel at home immediately and taking the time to explain the process. You sign a waiver, and then he explains the background to your room. We had the Mad Scientist room. Then you are locked in the room with one hour to figure out how to get out. I will not give any details about what happens in the room because I don't want to ruin it for anyone else. While you are there, you have to solve numerous puzzles and riddles that make you think, but are not too hard or too easy. Solving these puzzles allows you to use those answers to gain information to get closer to the solution. All 3 of us worked together to figure things out, including my 11 year-old, who was integral to figuring out some of the solutions, as well as my 15 year-old. The puzzles are very clever and unique. The whole time, the owner is watching and listening through cameras and able to provide assistance if you request a clue. Sometimes he would be encouraging to let us know we were on the right track, but never gave us the answer. We were so super-excited to escape with 2 minutes to spare! We felt so accomplished to make it out. The three of us talked about the room and how fun it was all the way back to the hotel (30 minutes) and I really felt we bonded as a family. All 3 of us worked equally, and it was sooooo much FUN! Klues Escape Room was worth every penny. We had such a great time, and will go out of our way to return if we are ever traveling within an hour or two of Stroudsburg. Highly recommend! read more

This is an AMAZING Escape Room!!! I was not sure what to expect, as my family and I have done a few escape rooms in major cities and I worried that a smaller town would not have the best to offer (my erroneous bias). But I was pleasantly surprised. This escape room was extremely challenging, fun, fast-paced, and made each of us sweat just a little bit. The clues were extremely clever, it was beautifully designed with unexpected things popping out and open and our host was the best - both respecting our stubbornness to not ask for a clue, but also helping when needed. The Mad Scientist room is notoriously challenging, we had 7 people and almost did not finish it. Thankfully Klues allows you to have as many clues as you would like which is great in a room that is very challenging. We were all screaming and laughing with joy and it was a thrill racing against the clock and bonding the whole time as we worked together. I would absolutely recommend this escape room to any - a rookie or veteran - you will LOVE IT!!! read more

Honestly, this is one of the best escape room venues our family has ever been to. We travelled an hour and half to get to it, because of all the great reviews, and it was absolutely worth it! We've probably done about 15-20 escape rooms as a family and thoroughly enjoyed both The Mad Scientist and Moonshiner rooms, which we did back to back. They both have a great mix of puzzles, searches and sleuthing and the rooms themselves are beautifully put together. The owners were helpful and friendly and gave hints just as needed.
