Came in with a bachelorette party of 9 girls who had never thrown axes before. Our guide showed us all and then individually coached us through throwing them properly. He discussed the pros/cons of each ax and the techniques. At first we were all a little weary about getting it to stick as we were all pretty bad to start with but by the end we were making bullseyes and kill shots and using different axes that fit each person best. With 9 people we were able to have a lot of fun in 1.5 hours and things were reasonably priced. Definitely recommend stopping in a learning/having fun ax throwing. read more

Went there to celebrate my sister's birthday and it was really a fun time! Since we went on a Wednesday evening, our group of 8 was the only group in the building. The owner was really friendly and accommodated us easily. A couple of folks struggled to throw the ax but the owner walked us through how to do it! My friends and I went to Splinters' Hatchet to do some axe throwing a couple of weekends ago for my friends' Bachelor weekend. We loved the axe throwing experience. The venue itself is large & expansive for multiple parties and we were able to book on the day of. When you enter in Splinters', you will check in with a staff and sign off a waiver form in case of any injuries. Then a staff will instruct you on how to throw an axe or a hatchet. Our instructor provided easy instructions on how to throw an axe efficiently without injuring others. The lanes have definite lines marking where you have to throw your axe or tomahawk axe. For an hour and a half, we were given a decent rate for 2 lanes and I definitely had fun with axe throwing. I highly recommend giving axe throwing a try if you are in the Poconos area! read more

Such a fun group activity for our crew of 12 adults coming together for the Christmas holidays in the Poconos! We were looking for some fun activities that would be fun for all ages (21-62). Booking online was super easy. The staff was incredibly nice. I had a last minute cancellation and they refunded me right there. I was not expecting that. Visited the Poconos from California. Was looking for something to do to fill in an open evening. Booking online was simple and easy. Experience was great. They went over the instructions with us and kept following up throughout the night to see if we had any questions. Had a good selection of different things to throw with. The owner took a lot of time to stay with us and show us all the different ways of how to throw an ax. He explained the different types of wood that were best for ax throwing. Explain the different styles of throwing axes. He stayed with each of us until we at least got it to stick at least once. He taught us how to properly keep score. We had a really excellent time. Plus it was BYOB which made it cheaper because we brought what we liked. read more
