Checked out gorilla grove and it was a blast. There are 3 categories of things to do: A. Ropes course with additional zip line add on B. Laser tag C. Miniature golf The ropes course was fun and the staff was very helpful. There are differing levels of difficulty and you must be able to complete a lower level before going to a higher one. The hardest one is called black rhino and if you successfully complete it you get your pic on the wall. Things to know: -GG is only open for the summer season -hours are 10am to 6pm (weather permitting) -no WiFi -free parking -you will be required to sign a digital waiver -you will be limited to a 2 hour time slot and reservations are not necessary -there is a cute little train that can take you to/from the main resort building to GG -picnic tables if you want to bring lunch -benches if you want to bring people to watch you complete the course -there are cold beverages, candy, ice cream, tshirts, shoes, shorts, etc for purchase The reason I am docking a star is because the course is very expensive. $65 for the ropes course (2 hour timeframe) and a $15 bonus zip line add on. Also laser tag randomly was paused for 2 hours with no advance notice which was a bummer. read more

READ THIS FOR YOUR SAFETY! As someone with a background in mechanical and structural engineering, I can tell you that this place is an ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. Their Zipline cables are rusty and shredding in many places. Many anchors need replacing. Their harnesses are worn and torn beyond their useful life. I pulled my kids out when I saw all this and was shocked to see that when I brought this up with Kyle in management that his attitude was very dismissive. The entire staff seems very uncaring and slow to react to anything. This Sloth-like work culture coupled with the deteriorating infrastructure makes for a disaster waiting to happen. At a minimum, I believe a full-on audit of their infrastructure is in order from local authorities. Please KEEP YOUR KIDS AWAY from this place, IT IS UNSAFE !!! read more

Came here with the family because the son wanted to do a ropes course and Gorilla Grove was the only place that had any availability today or actually for the rest of the week. My daughter also did the ropes, and mom and dad participated in the mini golf 36 holes. So the ropes course got five stars from both kids. There was a safety lecture first as to how to properly use the climbing gear, and there are multiple courses to use in your two hour timeframe each with gradual increasing degrees of difficulty. Since the major zip line was closed for repairs, the most difficult "black" ropes course had to be closed, too. That left open yellow and blue. My daughter tackled the yellow without any issues, but succumbed to the blue and asked for staff to get her down which they did. My son also did a few areas before taking on the blue and did alright until the last couple of obstacles where #1 - glasses fell from 30' and he was without them for a bit, and #2 - arms finally went to spaghetti and he had to really struggle to complete the course. But he did! Thankfully the both of them did not have to wait for others on the same course so they hardly lost any time of their two hours. The staff on course were more than helpful to all but highly encouraging to those younger ones who wanted to come down to instead fight the fears so they could accomplish finishing. I did not see anybody having a bad time. The wife and I played two 18-hole games of mini golf; once on each course. Although we had fun, I'm giving only three stars because there is absolutely no shaded areas and if it's sunny with no clouds, you are S-O-L. We both got quite burnt. Both courses have very well kept greens, and there is a lot of sloping to keep things interesting. There's no moving obstacles, except on one hole for the right side course that actually wants you to hit it in the water. Many families were playing, but this wasn't a problem except for the immense sun beating down. We thankfully between courses went to watch our kids on the ropes and that was well shaded in the trees. Happily, you may bring your own bottled water out on the mini golf courses so this is highly recommended. They have a smallish trailer to enter when you first get there to pay for everything and sign waivers for those doing the ropes. It got quite crowded and they only had one cashier (April was extremely friendly and accommodating to all) trying to make everything right. Thankfully tempers were not ruffled as it was air conditioned in there. They also sold ice cream packages and Gatorade along with some T-Shirts. Once you paid you went to the other attendant to get your climbing harness. I believe it was $55 each for the kids on the ropes good for two hours, and $15 each for the adults to play two rounds of mini golf. So about $150 for an afternoon of fun. This review is for those taking kids. My son enjoyed Gorilla Grove, but it was really poorly organized after you buy the tickets. We got a package when booking the hotel which was 4 tix on the ropes course, zip line, and mini golf for $100. Now this is a lot so the price was very fair. One thing to note though is that the hours of the park are fairly restricted, so most likely the time you spend here means less time at the Kalahari water park. My recommendation is to enjoy the water park first, and then arrive here as late as possible (make sure you don't come too late though, as the ropes course takes about 2hrs). Our biggest complaint here was the staff. They really seemed like they hated their jobs (apart from the people @ the ticket counter). The people who fit harnesses to the kids were just miserable and seemed to get easily frustrated (which is not a good skill when dealing with children). The biggest issue was that they set up my younger one for the beginner level course (not the kids one), which he was clearly too short and young for. We ended up realizing at the start (after going through the whole prep ritual) that theres no way that he is going to be able to complete this, and asked the staff. It was only at that point they told us that there was a little kids course. We came across a few people who were confused where to go/ what to do after buying tickets. read more

Gorilla Grove is a ropes course and mini golf complex that is in the forest outside of the Kalahari resort in the Poconos. Anyone can visit and do the courses or golf, but discounts are offered to people that are staying at Kalahari. In terms of mini golf, there are two courses - blue and yellow. Blue is a bit easier, and yellow a bit more difficult, with most holes at the top of a hill. Neither of the courses are all that imaginative, however. The landscaping of the courses is very nice, with waterfalls and chimps and gorilla statues, but the holes themselves don't have much in terms of fun challenges like you'd see at other courses. It was probably the most boring mini golf course I've ever done. Everything was par 2, which just makes it look like not a lot of thought went into the actual holes themselves. The ropes courses, however, are a lot more fun than the golf. There are a few courses open for young children, and then an easy (yellow), two medium (green), two hard (blue), and one very hard (black) course. There are plenty of staff to get you all harnessed up and explain how to safely use the course. You then get directed to a few bins that have gloves in them - which is probably the most disappointing part of the place, as the gloves are in poor shape and look like they've been eaten by rats... but you really do need the gloves. I found all of the courses that I did (which included the two mediums, one of the hards, and the most difficult black course) were very fun. I would say that the higher difficulty you do, the more upper body strength you require. My body was very tired afterward, and my muscles sore the next day, but I found the whole experience enjoyable. Bottom line: the golf isn't great. If you have kids, they will likely be frustrated with the course, especially the yellow one. If you're into golf and want some putting practice, maybe this is your thing. Ropes course is super fun, but if you happen to have a pair of your own leather work gloves at home, you may want to bring them along. read more

My girlfriend and I enjoy mini golf. We will play it on a good course or a bad one. Gorilla Grove is one of the better ones. Gorilla Grove is a ropes course and 2 18 hole mini golf courses located outside of Kalahari resort. We did not do the ropes course because that is not out type of thing. For the mini golf guest at the hotel get a discount and if you play both courses you get a discount. it was only 2 or 3 dollars more to play both courses so I recommend that. There's two courses. The front course and the back course. I've done both. The front course tends to be easier and you get a nice view of the parking lot. The back course is a bit more challenging and you get a nice view of the woods and zip lines on the rope course. Today we did both and had a blast. If you are only going to do one I recommend the back course, I think it is more fun and challenging. Neither of the courses is very hard and the hole design is kind of generic, I wished they would have used more of the natural environment. The theming of this course is monkeys on a mini golf course, If you have been to the shore and played a pirate themed golf course or a professor hacker's, think that but with monkeys instead. The course was in great shape and landscaped beautifully. I have a few complaints first is the organization of the staff, because there is only one line, if you are behind someone for the ropes course you can be standing in line for a while. Also there was no shade on the course, I don't understand why you would remove all the trees, you are in the woods, use them. While this is a nice mini golf course, the course itself is very generic, it's more McDonalds than mom and pop, for most people that won't be a problem, but for someone like me I find it missing the unique features that make it special. Overall if you like mini golf this is a location to check out. If you are staying at Kalahari or any of the other resorts in the area and want a break from the water parks, I recommend coming here for a quick 18 or 36 holes. read more

A solid mini golf course - two 18 hole courses - 36 holes of fun total if you wanna do both (that's what we did). Went here with a buddy of mine, we love mini golf and wanted to check it out. Good vibes all around, the music was awesome and made for a pleasant environment on top of some nice scenery lots of monkey's. The holes had a good range of difficulty - I definitely prefer the set on the right side as it posed more difficulty and variety. Not the goofiest golf I've been to but a solid course nonetheless! read more
