The Lehigh River is a gem. The staff at WhiteWater Adventures is very unprofessional. On the van trip to the put in the driver and the safety boater loudly disscussed payroll issues, lunch issues with the on site café and their co workers. These two were audiable to us sitting in the back of the van. Once we got to the Lehigh River, I had hoped the staff would be more professional. I was wrong. Their behavior got worse. The Trip Leader, a man named Jake, openly swore. The staff dissed the customers. I understand that their needs to be an evaluation before a river trip. This wasn't an evaluation of skills. The staff were making fun of the customers. The Lehigh River is a gem. Just find another company to explore it with. read more

This is a great way to introduce yourself and your family/friends to whitewater rafting. Be prepared for a full day from sign in to finish. Check in, safety briefing, bus ride, rafting, swimming, lunch, rafting, swimming and final bus ride. Once back you cab change to dry clothes and hit the snack bar for food and libations. Big barn fire to hang around and chat. We were a group of 7 adults and had no problem all being in one boat. The family ride was very easy and controllable with few places to get hungup ( rocks, trees or underpass) There are guides in front, back and throughout to keep everyone safe and moving along. Overall we had a really good time rafting, paddling and having water fights with other boaters and the pirates. Watershoes a must, bring water to drink and water guns or canons to defend yourself. The lunch was all you could eat- hot dogs, PBJ's, chips, salad and water or lemonade. Can't wait to try a more challenging adventure next time. Enjoy! read more

I can't say enough great things about this company. Four of my friends and I went for the 4th of July weekend raft and zip. Everything from registration on was a piece of cake. I reserved our raft with Hilary and she was so accommodating, professional, and friendly. When we arrived Beatrice and the cute blonde haired kid (totally forgot his name and I apologize) directed us where to park. The facility has a gift shop, outdoor chairs and tables, a nice cafe, locker rooms with hot showers, bathrooms, and changing stalls. So you basically check in, fill out a quick waiver form for the white water rafting, stash your lunch in sealed buckets they provide, pick up your paddle and life jacket, and then there's a 15 minute safety course. I'm so bad with names but the older brolic guy (Steven?) did the safety course and was basically the "captain" of our entire crew (which consisted of about 20+ rafts with 4-8 people in each raft. He was hilarious!! So after the brief safety course you load up on the busses and get dropped off at Lehigh river which is about a 5 minute drive. We had the cute blonde girl (Courtney???) as our guide throughout the trip. All of the staff were super helpful. The water on the river was sooo nice. We started our trip around 1230 ish and ended around 4:30pm. Some parts were smooth sailing but we had a good amount of rapids at about 5 to 6 different spots. There's also a ton of rocks that you have to avoid or you can capsize the raft. Some parts were challenging but this rafting trip is good for beginners. You stop 1/2 way down the river to eat lunch on a rocky beach. There were also calm parts of the river where we got out to swim. One of the best parts was messing around with the other rafters. They supply you with a white bucket to take out any water that gets into your raft, but during the safety course we were told we could use the bucket to splash other rafters. It was literally a battle and free-for-all!!! Lol. One guy got so carried away from splashing us, he slipped and fell face first into the river! It was hilarious. There was also an instance where one of the rafters hit her ankle on a rock or something and got hurt. Our raft had the safety kit so the cute blonde haired guide had to jump from his kayak onto our raft, retrieve the ice pack and other supplies to help the lady out, and jump back onto his kayak while we were in the middle of rapids! It was literally one of the funnest days ever!!! Lol. After the rafting they have a BBQ with unlimited free food such as hotdogs, chips, pretzels, etc. and then after that we did the 900ft zip line! Super fun. They also do a dam release every other weekend after July 4th where the rapids are really intense. I can't wait to come back! read more

Almost drowned. Please stay away for your safety. I was thrown from my raft and sent through the rapids and almost drowned. You are not provided any helmets. I was sent through the rapids backwards, and came very close to having my head slammed against one of the boulders. Please go somewhere else. Great whitewater trip down the Yough today! Our guide Jake was skilled and absolutely entertaining!

DO not do the whitewater with this group. We went with a group of 4, and for some reason, even with class 2-3, I expected there to be a guide with each boat. Definitely not the case. We got 5 guides I believe for our group of 20+ rafts, all in kayaks, and most of them (3-5) stayed at the front, and communication was poor (except for one of the guides, who when we saw her was good at telling us what to expect). The other guides we saw were making all these jokes, saying say your prayers when we asked what to expect through the next set of rapids, and you're on your own since you signed the waiver (this was not just one of them). None of these were helpful for our group, especially since my younger son, aged 13, fell out of the boat twice, both times due to boats crashing into us, because the guides weren't actually in the middle of the section of boats so no one knew to not bunch up, etc ..it was madness and could have all been avoided if the guides actually were where they needed to be instead of all at the front making jokes. They also kept having all the groups bunch up instead of allowing each group to stay with a guide for 4-5 boats, and that ended up causing a lot of waiting and a lot of issues when everyone was then told to go, everyone trying to go together instead of one at a time-they did say twice to go one at a time, to our group in the front and then paddled in front of us, not going back to say anything to the other groups. This company was, in my whole groups opinion, negligent, and didn't provide the service that we paid for. And now my son, who has ridden class 4-5 rapids before without any issues, is now scared to do it again. If I could do zero stars, I would. I am shocked they haven't been sued before. read more

My girlfriend and I recently went to WRA with some of her friends from work. I had never been whitewater rafting before -- my girlfriend had been a number of times. They start off with an humorous orientation class to get you familiar with how they run things, how to get in and out of the boat, etc. You do have to sign a waiver to protect them if you get hurt somehow. The do have equipment that you can rent (including wet suits), but they do provide you with the essentials, including a life jacket and oar. They also provide large canisters with screw-on lids to hold your lunch (that you have packed and brought along.) Don't forget sunscreen! They have rowing jackets available for a $4 rental fee. You will want to wear polyester to dry quickly (like a swimsuit), water shoes or sandals that won't be damaged by water, and you'll be leaving all of your valuables in the car. You leave your key in special bins in the gift shop while you are on your trip. They take you to the drop site in old school buses that all have appropriate names, such as "Cool Bus" (the "S" and "H" had been painted over), Shark Attack, etc. Each raft can hold about seven people. Bring along water pistols for the "battles" you'll have with other rafts. They do sell them in the gift shop, but you can certainly bring your own. We went about 4 miles down river over the course of the morning before pulling off shore to have lunch. The weather was perfect for us after a drenching morning storm that passed through right before we were to head out. When we got back to the WRA, they had late lunch planned consisting of hot dogs, potato chips, pretzels and draft birch beer. My girlfriend and I also did the zip line, which is $10 per person (it's normally $15, but you can save $5 if you have also done the rafting trip in the same day.) I have also never zip lined before and I have Acrophobia (fear of heights) -- I made it through no problem. The worst part for me was climbing up the ladder backwards, even though I was hooked in to the line overhead. The zip line itself is fun but over quickly. It's 900 feet long apparently. It was a lot of fun overall. Remember to bring sunscreen -- even if rain is in the forecast all day (like it was for us) -- those weather forecasters tend to be wrong! I went with my camp 2 years ago and has an ok experience. I just went again and everyone was so rude. They screamed at me and my fellow campers and counselor. They made numerous people cry and when we had dinner all of the food was raw some even got food poisoning. I understand that they were slow but their behavior towards adults and children is absolutely absurd . If you come here with a large group you will not have a great experience. The worst part about this trip was the fact that not everyone was with a guide. There were probably 25 rafts but only 4 or 5 guides for all 90 of us. They recommend going in a raft of 5-7 but we were in a raft of 4 with 3 children and one adult who had no idea what to do. The rapids weren't the best either. I think for the most part this wasn't the best trip and I don't recommend. read more

I experienced white water rafting today with 6 people in my raft. It begin with us getting to the place and finding out that the national park is actually a 20 minute drive. It took an hour to go over all the instructions and everything. The instructions gave good directions. When we reached there, we went right to getting into a raft. It was our first time rafting. We had a good time. I wish that the trip was only 2 hrs. 4 hrs felt very long after having lunch. Got to the place the 11:30 am and finished around 6:30 pm. There were a lot of rocks that kept getting that rafts stuck which was getting annoying after a while. I felt like they could use a little more instructors with the massive groups they take with them. It's a good experience if you're planning on not doing anything all day. It was a good time for people who knew what they're doing. Please provide helmets. I didn't feel safe without it. read more

This place is awesome. My friends and I reserved this place about a week in advance, we elected to go with the rafting. Unfortunately, one of my friends got sick right before the trip, so we only had 4 going. Since it was not refundable, we asked if we could switch our rafting to a package so we won't have to lose $$ for our friends not being able to make it. They were accommodating, and said it was fine. So when we arrived, the first day for the rafting, there was a cafe, and buncha other people already there. We got checked in, and everyone was super friendly. It was supposed to be a really nice day, and of course, with my luck, it was a solid low 60s. We rented a wet suit for the rafting and it was only $12/person. Since it was middle of September, they no longer had dam releases, but just a fun family float down the Lehigh River Gorge. We had such a fun time just floating along and watching other rafters be hilarious. There was a lunch break, and the whole trip took about 4 hours. The guides had so much personality, and there was a really cute tour guide. Our friends affectionately named her, "the cute 17 and half year old." (We have no idea how old she is, she could be 21 for all we know.) We were absolutely pooped by the end of the trip. Thank goodness it was only a float, and not an intense rapids trip. The next day, we came back for the biking, and we were about 10 minutes late. Turns out we were the only group for the biking, and they were patiently waiting for us. Larry, our tour guide was just a really nice guy with great character. He fitted us all for bikes and dropped us off 26 miles up from the check in site. We didn't get a chance to pack a lunch, so he opened up the cafe for us to grab some granola bars. We had such a nutritious lunch with a large bag of lays, pretzels, and granola bars. The trail was amazing and beautiful. It was laden with waterfalls and other appealing scenery. We also met a talking snake! (Just kidding about the talking part, we tried talking to the snake, but he wasn't really responsive. I think we pissed him off.) I would highly recommend Rafting Adventures just because they are pretty flexible with things and they are super nice (and there's a 17.5 year old). read more

I came last Saturday with a group of 20 something classmates, and this was without a doubt the most fun I've had all year. If you've never gone rafting (which I hadn't, until last Saturday) I definitely recommend it! It was exhilarating!! I went on a class 2/3 rapids trip, and each raft carried 4-6 people. Ive heard that some companies have a guide inside every raft, but we were able to go w/ just our friends and the guides accompanied us on the side in kayaks. It made it a lot more fun, as we were able to get into a little more...mischief...without a guide in our raft. =) Whitewater Rafting Adventures provided everything for us. We had a delicious, abundant boxed lunch (sandwiches, chips, cookies, soda/water - conveniently packed in waterproof bins) and when we got back from the river, we had hot showers and a hotdog dinner waiting for us. We had an excellent trip!! Hubs and I went on 6/24 for the 13 mile rafting trip. Said it was damn release day, but water levels were still low but that didnt deter from the fun . Started off with a 30ish minute bus ride to out drop spot. We loaded up into boats and headed down stream. Jamie was great with giving heads up to the areas to avoid, and very chill and funny. We hit a few spots of rapids before we hit a rock and our raft literally filled to the top with water. Our guide Max got us out of our jam and helped push us off to continue our trip. A member of our group fell out of the raft at this time, but the water toon us away too fast for him to hop back into our boat, max pulled him up into his boat, and met us down stream a bit hopped into our raft to help us bucket out all the water we were still carrying, and get us out team mate back. All went smoothly and we stopped for lunch. After lunch we hot a few more rapids and ended at a small beach where we boarded the bus for a 10 minute ride back to the grounds for hot dogs and zip lining. The zip was pretty short, but a nice little addition to our day Overall a great time, and we hope to head back soon! read more

This was my first time whitewater rafting and I had a great time. The guides were great and the location had other activities to participate in such at paintballing and ziplining. When we first got there we obviously had questions about rafting and gear. The girls working the register were absolutely no help at all. They were seriously clueless. They sounded like they were still in high school and were only trained to operate a cash register. One of the guides, I believe his name was Wyatt, was able to answer all of our questions. When the bus dropped us off at the river, we had to wait 30-45 minutes for them to bring rafts up. They were late due to some scheduling confusion. We went on a class I/II trip. It was too calm for our liking. One of the guides said it was geared towards families. Fortunately the guides encouraged water fights between the rafts during the calm parts of the river. The water fights were much needed during the long boring calm sections of the river. The was a free bbq when we returned. Don't expect much. We also tried the zip line. It was really short and I feel it wasn't worth the $10 I paid (regularly $15). Anyway, I had a great time and will definitely do this again but definitely go for class III rapids. read more

So I got a groupon for the weekday and wanted to go on the dam release so they upped the price 20 a person...understandable. Was told that we were going to get class three rapids. There was one. Our trip was supposed to be six hours on the water, guide told us we'd be taking a 14 mile trip...we went 7.5 miles (clocked it on my phone). It was just disorganized from the very beginning. They didn't set up the boats right, didn't call us until 1220 for our 12PM trip. Didn't get on the water until nearly 1:30. Took a lunch break at 3pm which was nearly an hour and a half because the tour guides caught a few people smoking pot and had to call the park ranger. Listen, I get it. People have a job to do. But the owner had to come all the way down with a park ranger, there are 60 people on the tour and 50 of them lost an hour on the water because a situation was handled poorly. With that being said there was no real instruction on how to ride the rafts...a 5 minute tutorial and being screamed at to rush down the river because they were terrible at orchestrating the whole thing. Just displeased by the whole thing. Literally if I knew how unorganized it was going to be I would of went to a different outfitter. Be prepared to pay "dam release" prices for not nearly as much of a thrill as it is hyped up to be and for 150 for two people I was thinking top notch service. The fact that the owner knew about how we all basically got screwed for an hour of time on the water because some nuckleheads were smoking pot and didn't compensate anyone speaks loud enough about how they do business. read more

We (family of 5 with kids ages 9-15) had an AWESOME time with Whitewater Rafting Adventures (WRA) on Sunday 8/5/18. Hands down, WRA is the best of all the ratting companies on the Lehigh River! Guides Todd, Brian and Lauren were terrific and gave us all tips to navigate the rapids and keep us safe throughout our adventure. We saw a few other rafting groups whose guides were not very informative and the participants were getting stuck all over the place. But not us! Our guides even went above and beyond with this one group who couldn't navigate the river often jumping into their rafts to help them navigate. Then, when they flipped and popped their boat, got the people safe and then paddled back upstream to collect the raft. Go with WRA - you will have an awesome time! DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY! If you want a fun kayak or rafting experience do yourself a favor and book with Pocono Whitewater Rafting. The owners son Steven was beyond RUDE, aggressive and cussed at us. At one point Steven was the guide for another family who was struggling to paddle straight and Steven got so aggressive with my Husband it became in a physical matter while leaving the struggling family to fen for themselves. Steven then told his fellow guides that he was going to kick my Husbands Ass which was a threat in front of everyone including children. Steven constantly yells for everyone to paddle faster. This river is very dull compared to other rafting experiences we have had so the need to paddle so fast the whole time took the fun out of the whole experience. Steven is the most rude person especially being the child of the owners you would think he of all people would treat all customers nicely and professionally but he was the total opposite. He yelled and told the whole crew of people that my Husband was an Asshole and he was the reason everyone had to pull their rafts over to wait. My husband was not great at kayaking so his speed compared to mine and some others was slower and that is how he was treated. So unprofessional and so rude! Mind you there was a ton of children present when the owners son was cussing about my Husband and making a mockery. As we paddled down the river we got side by side with Pocono Whitewater Rafting and everyone was having a great time! The instructors were all nice, patient and making jokes with their customers. You can tell Steven does nothing but bully his workers to be the opposite. The only nice instructor was Aiden who stood with us down the river to make sure we were safe UNLIKE Steven the owners son who could care less. Pricing was great, time on river very well worth it and rapids were decent. We were able to be in a raft with just our friends. The only thing we personally would change and this may be just doing more reacher, is rafting without a guide so we can go at our speed. With were with first time rafters and some boats with people smoking, and splashing each other. It would have been nice not to have to raft on the river with them. The first time I went to Whitewater Rafting Adventures, it was really fun and exciting. The second time I went to Whitewater Rafting adventures was a completely different experience. The guides didn't tell us when we had to stop for lunch and we ended up getting separated from our group. Then later during the last rapids, there was a huge rock in the middle of the stream. Many people bumped into that rock and fell out of the raft. We managed to avoid it but then there was a huge dip afterwards. One of my friends fell out of the boat and managed to press the deflate button. The guide who helped us made the rest of the trip really confusing and he kept yelling at us. Overall, the experience was traumatizing and they shouldn't have made the deflate button that accessible. read more

Such a fun day with awesome guides. Expect a 6 to 7 hour day. The guide will go over the rules 1st and then buses take you about a 1/2 hr to the drop off location. This river has some awesome class II and class III level Rapids. Bring your lunch. You will be given a bucket to put your lunch in and halfway during the river trip everyone will stop to eat. Pictures will be taken at different points of your trip and you can purchase them at the end of the trip. You can also purchase water shoes if you didn't bring them. Don't expect to sit in the raft like a princess. You will have to work to help your team navigate through the rocks and stay off of them. Be prepared that there's a possibility you may get thrown off the raft. Overall, this was a really awesome trip along a scenic river. Oh and btw the guides will prepare hotdogs at the end, served with chips/pretzels, and refreshing birch beer. read more

I haven't been whitewater rafting in about 10-12 years when I was in fifth grade. We went to Whitewater Rafting Adventures for my fathers 60th birthday yesterday and I was so pleasantly surprised. Todd was our group leader as well as three other guides. After finding ourselves lodged in a pretty gnarly rock, Todd was extremely helpful in getting us out safely. I couldn't have asked for better help! The lunch break is a beautiful view on the rocks of the river and woods. Be sure to pack something with you as the 12 miles can leave you pretty hungry. I would most definitely recommend this place to my friends and family and am already excited to go back! Let me just start by saying that Whitewater Rafting has been a bucket list item for me for a long time! Whitewater Rafting Adventures did not disappoint! It was better than I had even hoped or expected, and well worth the money. We went there on July 4th, and I couldn't have thought of a better way to spend the day! The guides initially gave us instructions on safety and maneuvering the river, but also were with us throughout the trip! The scenery was beautiful, the water was cool and felt fantastic, and the river was incredible! We purchased lunches from them, and they were well satisfying! And, at the end of it all, they treated us to a hot dog cookout, complete with their Birch Beer, which was refreshing, as well as tasty! I would, and WILL definitely recommend them for anyone looking for a fun day trip that's not the norm. I hope to go again! they said it was a class 3 but definitely felt like 4. and they didn't recommend helmets which i thought was crazy given i fell out a few times and there were so many rocks. i was out on the river with 47 other people which i thought was too big of a group (when i fell out the other rafts would hit me in the head bc there were so many of them so it was tough getting my bearings). just a few guides on kayaks and there's not much they can do (and of course THEY were all wearing helmets). i've rafted in montana and it felt way more organized and safe. there were definitely fun parts to the ride. just be careful!! and bring/wear a helmet! read more

My 2nd year going to this place... Last year's Rafting trip I would give it 5 stars, amazing guides, super relaxed cool, etc... Even at times they kept saying, lets pull over and go swimming for a bit. Made me wanna go back exactly a year later, which was a completely different experience. The guides were more militaristic and strict, it felt like they wanted to rush through the whole trip fairly quickly, no time to even swim. Though they kept pausing and pausing between each and every rapid which made the experience not as thrilling throughout. I still loved it, but just these guides can loosen up and enjoy. It felt more like Class II rapids vs any Class III's. So I guess after the recent experience I ll try another company, thou the first year's was amazing. read more
