However, at $20/pp for the canoes or kayaks, it was fine. It's paid per hour and up front. They do take card. You're given an hour, but they seem pretty loose about this. From our day out, though, you really won't spend much more than an hour out on the lake exploring unless you want to just stop and take in the views. We did that and still were just about an hour - after also going around the whole lake. Unfortunately, my seat in the kayak was broken and wouldn't sit up, so my husband had to use his legs to support my back rest the entire time. This made things rather uncomfortable, but that really wasn't their fault for not knowing. I even forgot to mention the broken seat when I got out since I was just kind of happy to get out of there. It's a beautiful lake, gorgeous housing lined on all sides. I really would recommend looking for a place with jet skis since we did see a lot of people using those and it looked like w lot of fun... but if you haven't been kayaking before or just want to explore the lake leisurely, this is definitely a good time.

The staff are... something else. They seem less like recreation employees and more like a highly organized squad of mall cops. They patrol the grounds in packs, seemingly on a mission to find someone to reprimand. The overall atmosphere was incredibly unfriendly and unwelcoming, which is a strange vibe for a place that is supposed to be a family-oriented lake club. At one point, the staff waited at the shore for a man who was swimming outside of the designated swimming area and tried to apprehend him so they could call the POLICE. We understand that swimming areas exist for safety reasons, but the apparent eagerness to escalate a relatively minor rule violation to law enforcement was honestly baffling. Like you guys know you work for a lake club in the Poconos and not the FBI right? I would bet a lot of money that the local police department rolls their eyes when they see this place calling them again and again. Rules are rules, and we have no issue following them. But there's a pretty big difference between enforcing rules and making your guests feel like they're constantly being watched for an opportunity to get in trouble. Would absolutely recommend the lake. Would not recommend whatever law-enforcement internship program they have running at the beach.

They give renters a "special" wristbands so that everyone knows you are a special guest. If you want to fish, forget it. They require you to rent a boat to fish. While we did it, the cost was excessive. The cost is about 280 dollars for two hours. We will expect a different place to visit in the Poconos next summer.

On the morning of our rental, I even called to let them know we would be arriving around noon and they confirmed everything. When we called at 12:45 to let them know we were on our way, we were told our credit card had been declined and that they had already given our boat away. This made no sense because my credit card had more than enough available credit and my bank showed no declined charges or fraud alerts whatsoever. We had traveled over 4 hours from out of town specifically for this trip and losing our reservation completely ruined our Fourth of July plans. If there was truly an issue with the card, a simple phone call, text or email before giving away our reserved boat would have given us the opportunity to resolve it immediately. Whether this was a mistake or poor communication, the result was the same - we were left without the reservation we had planned our holiday around. I cannot recommend a business that fails to honor reservations and doesn't make a reasonable effort to contact customers before canceling them.

That meant we launched at 1:28. The man at the dock was nice about saying we could take an extra 15 minutes on our outing, I think they should have have the system set to have the rentals give 1/2 hr between to make sure the groups are not standing around waiting with a group of little kids in tow. That was the only negative in our day. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Every one of them was smiling. There was not a great deal for them to do except explain the rules to you, which they did well. Once you arrive you need to clean out the boat and carry your lifejackets back to the tent. (very reasonable request) You should bring cash to tip or you can check a percentage box on the last iPad you are given to sign. Have cash on hand to pay for the gas that you used when you arrive back on the dock, or you will be charged a 3% card charge. We had a spectacular day on the lake, so much fun. Much of the credit goes to the weather but this rental was perfect for our needs. If you have kids - spring for the extra money and get the slide!

Our group had so much fun! Twin Rivers is very relaxed and gives you a lot of freedom. It was a…read morevery straightforward set up - check in and get your life vests, take their shuttle bus to the starting point on the river, get whatever style tube you paid for (we chose tubes with backrests and one cooler tube), and get out on the water! We slowly floated down the river, listened to music on our small portable speaker, swam around, made a short stop along a rocky bank at the edge of the water, and got to the end point after just over 3 hours. We got the shuttle bus back to the Twin Rivers office to drop off the life vests, then went back to our car in the parking deck right across the street. Very simple, and lots of fun!

We had reservations for this tour and made sure that we took their "sunset tour". Price was fair, they have a big parking lot around their office. We were fortunate enough to have Captain Mike as our tour guide. He was very informative and knowledgeable about the history of this lake, where I found out that this humongous lake is man-made. It has a porta potty by the huge parking lot and were suggested to use it before going to the lake. Arriving earlier gave us half hour to enjoy the pedestrian walk path by the lake . A beautiful sight to behold. If only we have time, there is a walking trail along. The tour was enjoyable, our guide was amazing. The ride gave us the chance to explore the history behind this man made lake. We solved the relaxation we craved through this boat trip for this weekend. An enjoyable ride.
