***3 1/2 stars*** This was my first time ziplining outside of a random high school gym class and I could tell it's something I'd love doing in the future. The problem is that the Mountain Creek setup is less than ideal and in my opinion not the best bang for your buck or time. The Millennial Chum and I attended the 10:30am session yesterday just after Mountain Creek opened. Would definitely recommend going at that time - parking in this area is a chaotic nightmare, which we experienced on our way out around 1pm, but thankfully avoided the drama coming in. If you're not familiar with the resort and the parking situation, try to allocate some additional time; there's multiple parking lots, some of them aren't open at the same times and they're not monitored particularly well by the staff so people go rogue and create a third row in the lots that there really isn't room for. I literally broke a sweat backing out of here. The staff at Zip Tours is fantastic and by far by the biggest selling point here. We had Cooper and Meg (I think?) as our guides, both of whom were super professional and personable. Cooper was blasting some Good Charlotte about halfway through on his mini speaker so now the Millennial Chum and I are officially back into turn-of-the-century pop punk. I am absolutely derp level when it comes to straps (airplane seat belts, bras, you name it), and everyone was very patient with me and basically just did all of the buckling and strapping while I just stood there like Ed from the Lion King. The instructions for the actual ziplining and positioning the body for landing at the other end were easy to understand and it didn't take long for everyone in the group to be acclimated, regardless of experience/background. The session/class was two hours long, and involved four ziplines. The first is the short training line down at the bottom of the ski lift. After that, you go up the ski lift to the top of the mountain and do the other three, which are basically crisscrossing one of the lakes at the top of Vernon Peak. After completing the four lines, you navigate across a narrow suspension bridge to an ATV/trailer/truck - I'm sure there's an obvious, much better term for it - that takes you back to the ski lift to wrap up the adventure. My favorite was the second line, which is the longest and offers the best views. I hike up mountains on a pretty regular basis so heights aren't much of a concern, but I DO get queasy on aggressive rollercoasters so that was a mild caveat in the back of my mind. This wasn't an issue at all; there's no significant dropdowns and the speed isn't that fast. I will say though that the landing can be a little abrupt/hard at the end, which they mitigate as much as they can with this cushioning spring system. Probably given the height/distance, the second line had the most intense landing, but it wasn't egregious. Would have hated to be one of the metaphorical test dummies when they were figuring that system out though. Here's the main problem - it's two hours for four ziplines, one of which is a very short training line that takes about five seconds if I had to guess. The actual ziplining is minimal (and maybe that's just the nature of the beast - it doesn't take long to zip down a line) and a huge chunk of that two hours is you just standing around waiting for other people to go down the line. Probably the best way to fix that is to either slash the class size in half (which I'm guessing they don't want to do because they'd be leaving a sizeable chunk of money on the table) or investing in adding another one or two lines at each stop to speed up the process. I have no idea how feasible that is from a financial or logistics perspective but it did look like there was room to do so if it came to it. Another issue (and I think this is more on the company overall and not the guides) is that they allowed three people who were late to join us, and they caused delays as well. The rules on the website clearly say that if you're late you're going to get slotted into the next available session, but they made an accommodation for them. It honestly wouldn't have been a big deal, but these guys were pretty disruptive and self-centered. One of them had a loud Go Pro that he kept turning on and off and he even asked one of the guides to confirm it was recording. It might be too extreme to ban those devices especially given the type of activity you're doing, but it was a definite distraction. The other two were intermittently making out and filming the rest of us; that latter part I think arguably should have been shot down by the guides or cited in the rules. You want to film yourself or the scenery? Fine, but I think it's pretty douchey to film the rest of us without permission. Your mileage may vary. I don't regret doing it, but I'd like to try this at a different venue with longer ziplines and less wait times. read more

I've gone zip lining at many different places and sadly have to say this was in the bottom of experiences. First, they seem to have staffing issues. I'm not sure if that's due to staff shortage or mismanaging the staff but it was chaotic checking in. The staff that was there was doing their best and friendly but it didn't set the tone that this was going to be a smoothly executed experience which is important when doing an activity where safety is very important. Second, the amount of waiting you do verse actually zipping is way out of portion. The group moves together so you have to wait for all 15 people in your group to go before going and waiting at the next zip. There is also only 4 zips. So for a two hour tour that can tell you how long you wait for. The best thing about this tour is the basket harness you get strapped into. It made it more comfortable and less strenuous when you hit the breaks. The guides did try to make it fun and were willing to take your picture too which was very much appreciated. I do not recommend this zip tour at the end of the day however. read more

Brian and Jai were great tour guides. Parking was a bit difficult, we didn't know which lot to park in, and which building to go to. The tour starts with a short practice zipline. Then we took the gondala/ski lift to the top of the mountain. All 3 ziplines go over water. The view is beautiful in the fall. The tour is about 2 hours in total. Def worth coming back. read more

After much research my friends and I decided to head to Mountain Creek for some Zip-lining fun. Wow...... what an amazing lifetime experience that will forever be engraved in my heart. This experience could not have been any more perfect. The cost of the Zip-lining Tour on a weekend is $70 per person. It is absolutely worth every cent. The staff is super friendly and they just add to the great experience. It was the perfect way to celebrate my friend's Birthday. The Zip-lining package included one practice baby Zip-line, 3 Large Zip-lines, a suspension bridge, and a gondola ride to the Mountain and back. The whole experience lasts 2 hours. Each tour can hold up to 12 people. They take pictures for you on their cameras. You can purchase the disc of pictures for $19.99 plus tax. You can also record your whole experience by buying their go-- pro rental helmet for $24.95 plus tax. Our Guides were truly amazing, I wish I could remember their names. By the way our reservations were for 12:20 pm and we arrived way earlier than that. However, the staff was able to accommodate us with a much earlier tour so that we would not have to wait. Zip- lining on a mountain is the way to go. I felt super safe the whole time with all of their equipment and guidance.The speed was just perfect because it wasn't super fast , so I was actually able to enjoy all of what nature has to offer. I felt so liberated and so Zen. As I was zip-lining, the breeze was just amazing and the views of the mountain and the lake were so breathtaking. It was my first time Zip-lining and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I hope to return in the Fall, as I hear that is the best season to come. read more

Great place for ziplining for the first time. Super safe and friendly tour guides! There are a total of four ziplines, a truck ride, and a suspension bridge. The zip tour usually lasts for two to 2.5 hours as we were told earlier on but since our group was smaller we were done in 1.5 hours. I was hoping for more ziplines and felt that the first trial one should just be a trial one and not counted towards one of the four ziplines. I purchased the zip tour through groupon and found it to be a good deal. However if I were to purchase this directly through mountain creek it would be $70 per person which i feel is a bit expensive. This was fun, you do 4 ziplines and at the end you can get a disc for $20. You can skip the disc...I bought it because I came alone and wanted a picture for when I'm 90 yrs old. You can just come with 4 people and take pictures of one another with a phone. But yeah, they start you off small and then go big...if you can handle the second one, you can handle three and four. There was an 8 year old with us and she killed it. Her Dad got stuck on the way, which should have happened to his 50 lb daughter instead. Weird. I had a great time on Saturday which was May 9,2015 my 11 am tour guide was Shane and Dan... Let me tell guys that Shane has a great sense of humor and he knows a lot of facts about the mountain and even told us Hughe Hefner old playboy mansion which is located not too far from Mountain Creek. You can see it when you go up a lite trolley to the top on the mountain to start our second zip lining launch. It was my husband and my first time doing zip lining and we drove in from NYC. The weather was Perfecttttt that day nice and cool and not hot at all. If you guys every want to do zip lining go to mountain creek it's amazing the staff is very friendly and nice. We also met Shane mother and sister because it was Mother's Day weekend and it was her bday as well. The group that we were with was about 13 of us was awesome and friendly as well. We've never been up to Mountain Creek, and we decided to zip line with the kids. We had 0 issues, and 100% fun. Our tour guides, Matt and Steve, were great! There were 3 lines total, but we started with a mini one to practice on. I'd def do it again, and spend more time at the park. My youngest is 10 and she had no issues. You can't bring anything with you, but we had a water pouch thing that hangs around your neck, and my son used it for his phone. If you decide to bring your phone, just know that at the end of the line, you've got to hold on with both hands, you won't have much time to put your phone in your pocket quickly. There is a water station at the top of the sky ride, so you'll get a quick water break. The whole tour isn't more than 2 hours, it's the right amount of time. read more

What a fantastic day! This was our first time ziplining and Zoom was the perfect place to start. We went on Memorial Day, 5.25.15, with our 8 year old daughters, both of which were excited but nervous. It was a quick 1.25 hour drive from the city, in the mountains close to the Delaware Water Gap. My daughter started the day in a panic and running for cover at the sight of 5 bumblebees hovering by the deck when we were getting suited up. The staff were right on top of putting her at ease and helping her get over her apiphobia. From the get go they were understanding, attentive, patient and let you know you were in good hands. Shane and Paula were our guides and they were thorough and clear in their instructions, plus super-helpful, energetic, good-natured and funny. When they say safety first, they mean it. They are meticulous about ensuring that you are secure and all safety measures are taken. The course was as described- 4 ziplines, 2 hour guided tour, suspension bridge traverse and unimobi ride. They could add that there is a fabulous gondola ride up the mountain, including breathtaking views. Fresh air, gorgeous views, zipping over the mountainsides, lakes and treetops - it is everything you hope for on a ziplining adventure. The best thing, it's an all-season activity! We were well taken care of and at ease, that by the end of the trip, the same kid running from the bees, was turning over rocks in search of other insects and wildlife and loving the outdoors. read more

I was lucky enough to be gifted a Groupon to zipline at Mountain Creek, which includes 4 ziplines, one suspension bridge, sunglasses, and a CD of all the group photos. Our guides, Cassidy and Caleb, were really great. They were very nice and patient, and made sure we were all safe. Cassidy mentioned that they've never had an injury, whether the staff or guests. I like how they ease you into it, starting off with just a small zipline, for anyone who might be scared of heights or speed. I should be able to give a negative 10. I never got to take the zip tour. Despite paying $99 for 2 ziplines and receiving confirming email, pdf receipt, etc.. We show up for our reserved date and time to find NO ONE THERE. September 22, 2017. We have to ask around to finally be told "ZIPLINING IS CLOSED TODAY" What? Excuse me? As I show my printed copy of the confirmation and paid receipt showing the date and time. It appears they cancelled all ziplining for this day, took money, never notified me, or asked to change the date. When we show up the attitude is "oh well, it is closed" because they were having a festival the next day they decided to cancel. Horrible. I then proceed to email 3 contacts and 48 business hours later not a single person responded about the situation. I had to put in a dispute with my credit card and emailed those same 3 contact emails address (including reservations, customer services?) with threats of the dispute to finally receive a pathetic email returned saying "My manager is working on refund". Really, I should have a refund, follow up communication on when I will receive, as well as an offer to come back for free to actually zipline and I really should have been given a free night stay also. We drove 3 hours with PRE-PAID RESERVATIONS. Where is my gas money, toll money, time, and vacation time expended from work for 2 people... read more

I was looking forward to visit Mountain Creek for Aerial TreeTop event, however, Hurricane Nate is on the way 10/08/17 and will hit NY and NJ by tomorrow. . I called the Aerial Top Tree asking to reschedule as the weather condition is not safe to drive from NY to NJ for 1.5 hours one way. The Rep insisted there is no rain in Vernon, NJ and repeated couple times with no empathy for my concerns. I explained that rain is in the forecast and will hit soon. She insisted that the Tree-top courses will still be opened despite any weather conditions. From experience, I know that the treetop activity uses a harness that must be strapped in and we must place the hook on the line to travel from one tree to another.treetop and this continues for 3 hours straight. We will topple over wet and slippery wooden planks and will be definitely be difficult for my 2 kids to be in control. .She responded that all cancellations within 24 hours will be subject to $15 per person cancellation fee and that I did not read the the policy. Does your policy have exception to the rule that Hurricane Nate will hit the area within 24 hour?. I am still cancelling because I will not jeopardize my kid's safety for any reasons. read more

Consider this scenario: You have a reservation at a restaurant and you are running a few minutes late due to traffic that is out of your control. You call the restaurant to let them know and ask if you can come a little late or reschedule. The restaurant says they will not save your table and to reschedule they'd charge you $15 per person. Furthermore, the manager told you that because you are late you took away the potential for four other people to enjoy a dining experience that evening, for no reason other than to make you feel bad. That's was my experience with Mountain Creek. Mountain Creek has terrible customer service. I spoke with three women in the call center who mimicked me each time I asked to speak with the manager. As a first time customer, I expected Mountain Creek to understand my group did not deliberately show up late and asked them to find a way to let us join up with the tour late - especially since all other tours that day were sold out. They said the only thing they could do was to charge us $15 per person to reschedule for another day, mind you after we were in the car for 1+ hour to get there. (I guess they should realize not everyone lives in Vernon Township, NJ, and have to drive on a one-lane highway to get there.) Plus, they informed us we should have followed instructions to arrive a half hour prior to the tour departure, while the Groupon ticket we purchased for the tour had absolutely no instruction about arriving 30 minutes early. To top all of this off, mid-conversation my calls ended, which one could assume was from the other party hanging up. This is when my Uncle called and the manager, Robin would not let him get a word in. She accused him of cursing well before a curse word came out of his mouth, a complete and unnecessary judgement; and as she told us several times the conversation was being recorded so the CEO of Mountain Creek can listen and learn that I am correct. Look, I know Mountain Creek has policies and to some I come across as a customer who doesn't recognize that. I just ask you to consider that the situation that happened to my group could have happened to anybody, and any reasonable business would have tried a little bit harder to salvage a customer relationship. read more

My wife and I had a great time here. The tour was about 2 hours (1 practice zipline, 3 long ziplines, a suspension bridge, and the Unimog ride back to the gondola). I was impressed with the lack of extra fees...the lockers were free, the bottled water at the end of the tour was free, and I was allowed to bring my own helmet cam instead of renting one. The guides (Bubba and Tom) were helpful, entertaining, and most importantly made sure everything was safe. I would love to come back in the winter! read more

This was so much fun for us! It was very safe and controlled, I actually thought I would speed a lot faster but the steady speed gives you a good opportunity to just enjoy the view. Our guides were really nice as well and did whatever they can to make you feel safe and have fun. This place was great. Went to zipline today and was surprised how nice everyone was. Very easy to get to the parking lots, just a small walk to the office and then you're greeted by smiles. They were busy and still managed to help me. The instructors were very knowledgeable and kind. I rented a gopro and it turned out it wasn't working. They went out of their way to give it to me when we were on the zipline course. I was surprised that they even tried to help. We got home safe and happy! read more

Excellent customer service. Went here on a Friday morning and was very impressed with the staff. All seemed to really enjoy there jobs and were very pleasant and made the experience a million times better. They made sure everyone was enjoying the trip no matter how old. The entire experience was 2 hours long and you go on 4 different zip lines. For $20 you can get a cd with all the pictures which is cool. I would highly recommend this to anyone in the area. My brother and I went for the 3pm tour today(5/17/15). I was worried about the heat and humidity, but it was perfect sunny weather with a nice cool breeze. It was our 1st ziplining experience and we had a blast! I liked riding on the gondola with the scenic overview of the mountain. My favorite part was flying over the lake! I felt so freee! I would like to thank our tour guides (Dan, Eric, Hunter, & Dave) for keeping us safe and entertained :) I was not scared, but had fun screaming my head off! You just have to go through it yourself.
