So, with the recommendation of a friend and a visit with Dr. Dale Pilkinton, I realized that my vision could surely be improved. After an incredible eye exam and thorough testing with the very professional ophthalmic technician, my visit with Dr. Pilkinton enlightened me to the world of cataract surgery. Yes, I was ready to commit to improvement with surgery. After much discussion, I chose the "Light Adjustable Lens" implant. Having worn monovision contacts for 30 years I was so happy seeing distance with my right eye and near with my left. Fortunately, with this lens implant and one post-op treatment in the office, I was able to see everything as I did before, even better. No glasses, distance or near. When I arrived home and finally removed the dark glasses given to me at the Eye Surgery Center of Nashville, I was in total amazement of the bright world that I had been missing. Incredible, astounding, and simply amazing is all I can say. I can't say enough about the brightness of the new world that I am now witnessing. I had a wonderful post-op visit the day after surgery and Dr. Pilkinton and staff were happy for me as well. The staff at Pilkinton Eye Center are professional from the first phone conversation, examination, scheduling surgery to check-out. I also want to say that the staff of the Eye Surgery Center of Nashville were great, I was told by each one that I was in "Great Hands" meaning I felt that I had the best surgeon. I'll stop here by simply saying that if you have been diagnosed with cataracts or think you have them, please call their office, you will be extremely pleased. Ava P.

I had my consultation and heard the price breakdown, then visited other companies to make sure I was getting the best services. I came back to Wang Vision, and I'm still very happy with my choice. Everyone is very knowledgeable about the procedures and helped me feel secure in my decision. There was a student/trainee that attended my consultation with Karen, and I was glad to hear that they take so many students for training at this location. (The student did a great job, too!) Cameron made sure that I felt supported and explained my available options in a very accessible way. Dr. Jones and his assistant performed the surgery in a separate room, and the procedure itself was very fast (like 20 minutes under the laser). Admittedly I sat under the machine for a bit longer because they had to wait for my eyes to numb, so the entire consultation session (redone during day of surgery) and actual surgery took about 3 hours. Then, you go back the next day for a follow up to make sure everything looks ok. I have overall felt supported and informed in my decision to go with Wang Vision Institute. LASIK surgery is a big decision, and I'm very happy with my decision. Plus, they have a really cool lobby.

Dr. Zimmerman proposed two ways my surgery can be done, one gets both eyes to 20/20, the other one that could help me read without relying as much on reading glasses (I need reading glasses at my age). We used correction glasses and tried both scenarios, he was very detailed in explaining and informing me both solutions and what they entail in the future. I was able to make an informed decision. And finally, it was doctor Guduru who performed the surgery. It was a great success, and without any pain or adverse feelings. I was sent home with a post surgery care package and instructions on recovery. This is a very professional practice with the highest standards in vision care, I would recommend to everyone who needs Lasik or other vision procedures.

They were going to make sure that this reviewer didn't flake out on an appointment. How I made it this far in life is a question I often ask myself. I never give myself an answer. Maybe that's the trick. Just get on with life. I'll have to admit that I was a bit nervous meeting the specialist. I've heard stories of surgeries, lasers, and eye patches. I mean, other than a pirate, who looks cool in an eye patch? Even Columbo didn't wear one. He just shoved a glass eye into his socket. My head was spinning, not to mention my tree branch eye. All went well with the pre-doctor tests and paperwork. My nervousness (fear) began to ease. Everyone made me feel comfortable and reassured that I'd be ok. Then he came in. Dr. Recchia had entered the room. After pleasantries were exchanged he got down to work. He asked questions, squirted stuff, then proceeded to dig around in the eye. He poked and prodded, hmmmed a bit, and then announced his findings. GUILTY for being an idiot by not wearing safety glasses! He really didn't say that, but I wouldn't have blamed him if he had. My situation wasn't going to require surgery, lasers, or anything of the sort. Just some antibiotic goop 4 times a day. The cloudiness in the eye should clear after awhile. I'm fine to resume normal activities. Which in my case is drinking beer and smoking cigars. At least near term activities. Long term, I'm free to wander the open roads of America and write these stale reviews. Quick Tip: When you get nervous about doctor appointments, try to lose your mind in how the pyramids were built. That always works for me. I bet those Egyptians had a lot of eye injuries chipping away on those blocks of stone. Maybe that's why they walked funny. I think the Bangles were on to something.
