So, with the recommendation of a friend and a visit with Dr. Dale Pilkinton, I realized that my vision could surely be improved. After an incredible eye exam and thorough testing with the very professional ophthalmic technician, my visit with Dr. Pilkinton enlightened me to the world of cataract surgery. Yes, I was ready to commit to improvement with surgery. After much discussion, I chose the "Light Adjustable Lens" implant. Having worn monovision contacts for 30 years I was so happy seeing distance with my right eye and near with my left. Fortunately, with this lens implant and one post-op treatment in the office, I was able to see everything as I did before, even better. No glasses, distance or near. When I arrived home and finally removed the dark glasses given to me at the Eye Surgery Center of Nashville, I was in total amazement of the bright world that I had been missing. Incredible, astounding, and simply amazing is all I can say. I can't say enough about the brightness of the new world that I am now witnessing. I had a wonderful post-op visit the day after surgery and Dr. Pilkinton and staff were happy for me as well. The staff at Pilkinton Eye Center are professional from the first phone conversation, examination, scheduling surgery to check-out. I also want to say that the staff of the Eye Surgery Center of Nashville were great, I was told by each one that I was in "Great Hands" meaning I felt that I had the best surgeon. I'll stop here by simply saying that if you have been diagnosed with cataracts or think you have them, please call their office, you will be extremely pleased. Ava P.

He made me feel comfortable and confident going into the procedure, and everything went very smoothly. I really appreciate how well I was taken care of throughout the entire process. Such a great team and experience -- I would absolutely recommend them to anyone considering SMILE or vision correction surgery!

I had my consultation and heard the price breakdown, then visited other companies to make sure I was getting the best services. I came back to Wang Vision, and I'm still very happy with my choice. Everyone is very knowledgeable about the procedures and helped me feel secure in my decision. There was a student/trainee that attended my consultation with Karen, and I was glad to hear that they take so many students for training at this location. (The student did a great job, too!) Cameron made sure that I felt supported and explained my available options in a very accessible way. Dr. Jones and his assistant performed the surgery in a separate room, and the procedure itself was very fast (like 20 minutes under the laser). Admittedly I sat under the machine for a bit longer because they had to wait for my eyes to numb, so the entire consultation session (redone during day of surgery) and actual surgery took about 3 hours. Then, you go back the next day for a follow up to make sure everything looks ok. I have overall felt supported and informed in my decision to go with Wang Vision Institute. LASIK surgery is a big decision, and I'm very happy with my decision. Plus, they have a really cool lobby.

Dr.Klippenstein is highly recommended to anyone who has complications with eyelid ptosis (droopy or heavy eyelids). Had my surgery yesterday and from the time I walked in to being wheeled out to go home, nothing could have been better. Andrea was my RN who stayed with me from pre-op until I was heading home. She was friendly, interacted well, answered all questions fully and clearly, and has a sweet personality. Scott was my Anesthesiologist. He took his time to get my IV started in my VERY tricky veins and I hardly felt the needle stick. He also explained everything that would occur from start to finish. Even after the IV was removed, my arm is not sore or tender which I can't ever remember happening from other procedures. Dr. Klippenstein did an amazing job telling me exactly what would happen before surgery, during the actual surgery and even afterwards. When you hear her talk with the staff working with her, you can tell she has a great relationship with them also because they are smiling and laughing. She is truly down to earth. I am about 12 hours post-op and can hardly feel any discomfort. I have to remind myself that I have stitches still in my eyes because I want to touch them. I can't wait to see the full results after I'm all healed.

I chose Loden's for a few reasons. First, they have a reputation in Nashville for fantastic LASIK results. I've had several friends who have had LASIK with them and couldn't be happier. Second, I found Loden's to be very transparent throughout the process. Although their prices are not listed online, a counselor sent me the price sheet after my free consultation and I never felt pressured to make a decision or a purchase. I also felt uneasy about some other competitors offering huge coupons for "seminars" as it reminded me of the King of Queens episode where Doug gets a coupon for Carrie for half off the second eye, lol. I didn't want to feel like I was skimping on something so important (vision). I first had a phone consultation where I talked about my prescription, why I was interested in LASIK, and the basic process of the surgery. I then talked with someone else about the different packages available. From there, I set up my appointment for my scan and then surgery. I was pleased that I didn't have to wait too long to get it done. My surgery was scheduled about two weeks out from when I made the appointment. Everyone I dealt with was knowledgeable and helpful. I asked so many questions but everyone was so nice and quickly got me the answers I needed. Surgery went by quickly. It was more uncomfortable than painful (IMO the clamp to keep your eye open was worse than the laser, which I didn't feel at all). The actual surgery took about two minutes per eye. Immediately as I walked out of the surgery room, I could already see details across the room. 24 hours after surgery, I was already 20/20 in one eye and 20/15 in the other. My vision continues to improve, and I find myself playing games of "can I read that?" with signs and labels. It's hard to believe I don't have to wear my glasses or contacts anymore! I would recommend Loden's to anyone looking to get LASIK, or even anyone just looking for more information on the process. They also do laser correction of cataracts, so if I ever end up needing that, I will come back to Loden's.

I received a second opinion at Vanderbilt Eye Institute after indicating during both of my post operative exams that I had no vision improvement following surgery and a haziness in the operative eye which was not resolving - both doctors I saw (not my original surgeon who was unavailable) told me they could see nothing unusual, and that I should just postpone my second eye a week. I will not have my second eye surgery - my vision is not bad enough to warrant surgery and I'm very upset that Loden Vision seems to push surgery rather than looking at the best needs of patients. Use caution and be fully aware of your condition before undergoing any surgery!!!

That's why the two daughters. They were going to make sure that this reviewer didn't flake out on an appointment. How I made it this far in life is a question I often ask myself. I never give myself an answer. Maybe that's the trick. Just get on with life. I'll have to admit that I was a bit nervous meeting the specialist. I've heard stories of surgeries, lasers, and eye patches. I mean, other than a pirate, who looks cool in an eye patch? Even Columbo didn't wear one. He just shoved a glass eye into his socket. My head was spinning, not to mention my tree branch eye. All went well with the pre-doctor tests and paperwork. My nervousness (fear) began to ease. Everyone made me feel comfortable and reassured that I'd be ok. Then he came in. Dr. Recchia had entered the room. After pleasantries were exchanged he got down to work. He asked questions, squirted stuff, then proceeded to dig around in the eye. He poked and prodded, hmmmed a bit, and then announced his findings. GUILTY for being an idiot by not wearing safety glasses! He really didn't say that, but I wouldn't have blamed him if he had. My situation wasn't going to require surgery, lasers, or anything of the sort. Just some antibiotic goop 4 times a day. The cloudiness in the eye should clear after awhile. I'm fine to resume normal activities. Which in my case is drinking beer and smoking cigars. At least near term activities. Long term, I'm free to wander the open roads of America and write these stale reviews. Quick Tip: When you get nervous about doctor appointments, try to lose your mind in how the pyramids were built. That always works for me. I bet those Egyptians had a lot of eye injuries chipping away on those blocks of stone. Maybe that's why they walked funny. I think the Bangles were on to something.
