You can get it for a few dollars less per pound up the road at Neiman's grocery market, or at other cake suppliers in the metro Detroit area like Sarah's in Troy. And if you're visiting the thumb area, you can get Merken's at an incredible price with every color in the rainbow at Countryview Bulk Foods in Snover. 2: you feel like you're walking into a store from the 80's - it's dark, dreary, and depressing; and the decorating supplies and options are just as outdated. I love to support local but she has not kept up with the ever changing world of cake, cookie, & cake pop decorating trends. I can find so many cute options for sprinkles and glitters and molds, etc on Amazon or Instagram or even Homegoods. All I get when I walk into this store is disappointment and frustration. I always hope that if I give it six months maybe she'll change things, but to no avail. read more

I needed a cake for my mom's celebration of life. The people here were very helpful. I was able to communicate exactly what I wanted over the phone and with text pictures. They did a fantastic job!! They walked me through the order, made a delectable cake that impressed everyone who saw it. They gave me handling advice to get it there...They even gave me party advice on when to cut the cake so that people would eat it. I couldn't ask for anything else. They were even compassionate enough to mention they were sorry for our loss. I'd recommend if you need a cake to get it here!!! It was even two different flavors, both excellent. read more

We ended up only getting a cake for this year due to covid but we are still getting three different cupcake flavors for our reception this fall. Looks are deceiving here. The outside is plain and looks small. You walk inside and BAM! you get hit with all kinds of supplies to bake and create edible goodies. This was my first time here, my husband got me a gift card for Xmas. The lady working was super friendly and helpful. She was very available without hovering or being in my way. They have huge sections of molds for chocolates, cookie pops and cookie pans. They also have a large section of professional cake pans, stands, flavorings, and toppings. Plus all sorts of character toppers for kids cupcakes and cookies. Just all sorts of stuff you didn't know you needed. They even have huge yummy chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies for sale. I also saw some gorgeous wedding cake models so I think you can get them here too. The prices are a little high, but nothing exorbitant. Definitely worth a trip for someone who's into baking or making candy or other sweets. read more

Very excited to find a local cake supply store! They do have a nice selection, but out of stock items and staff knowledge of product required me to leave a one star rating. The woman working at the store today had absolutely no knowledge of the product. Multiple questions were answered with "I think..." or "I'm not sure". Her knowledge of the items in the store left me guessing about every question I asked. I was uncertain about the quantity in an unlabeled package of cupcake liners, to which she "guessed" that there would be 24-30. Every question I asked was met with an answer that left my question unanswered. Two items that I was interested in were out of stock. They had been "ordered" but the woman working could not tell me when they would have them. The store was also unable to provide a bag for the cardboard half sheet boards that they sell, and on a rainy day (like today) it was frustrating to get the board to the car undamaged. All-in-all, while the store has a nice selection, I may have to continue to shop for cake supplies online where I will at least know what I'm getting. read more

Don't let the location keep you away. It doesn't look like much on the outside or inside but the product and service are great. Colleen made 75 cupcakes for my daughters graduation within 3 hours after I realized they were not ordered the day before her party. She stayed late so I could pick them up. Very sorry I have to write this disappointing review. I ordered a 8" cake with Bavarian cream filling. I wanted white but was talked into French vanilla, ok The cake had NO flavor! The filling or lack there of was maybe 1/2" thick but not even to the sides. I wanted Bettercream frosting but was talked into buttercream. frosting flavor was only flavored with imitation butter flavorings, nasty!! The cost of this cake, $57.00!!!!!!!!! Got my wedding cake from there. It was beautiful on the outside but inside was not as good as I had hoped. My husband and I chose yellow cake with a chocolate cream filling. There was barely any filling and the cake was "spongey" as one guest put it. For close to $300 I really expected better. read more

Got my wedding cake from here and it was beautiful and pretty tasty so we decided to get our gender reveal cake done here it wasn't that good and they didn't pay attention to my order and didn't add the filling that we asked them to put in they didn't even really care they just gave me back 10.00 for what the filling would cost and when I called to tell them that they forgot it they knew exactly who I was and they knew they messed up but they never called me to apologize or anything. Heard this place had amazing cookies that they put in gift baskets. Stopped in to buy/taste some and I guess I interpreted the information I got incorrectly. This is not a bakery-type store per se so there is nothing put out to sell and sample. If you want candy making and cake decorating supplies, this is more your place. The store itself is a bit of a retail display throwback. I heard after my visit that they keep the cookies in the back, but there is no signage or information that I could see to tell me that. I just feel like if something is a part of your core business it should be promoted better versus just binders with pics. read more

I had an idea for a Golf Cake but did not want a hokey green grass........I wish I could upload the glam golf cake. It was gorgeous!!!! The other cake had to be an "alligator" theme, OMG it was so cute!!!! You can come up with an idea & the rest they run with to the very last detail. I took my daughter to a cooking class here and we had a great time! We decorated cupcakes and got to take them home to show the family who ate them all! It's a hit or miss. I have bought a few cakes here. The first two were amazing! The last one they did was sloppy and was the most expensive. Its was not worth the amount paid.
