Last time (a couple years ago), Flores also showed up quickly and repaired our unit, was so helpful and did a great job accommodating our budget as best as he could. I went onto Yelp to see if I could find contact information for a company I had used five years before when I owned a house only to find they had been taken over by another company I didn't know. Long story short I put AC repair into Yelp search not expecting to be able to submit a request to several companies for quotes. I was resigned to getting a response in the morning until lo and behold my phone rang with caller ID showing Ideal Air Conditioning. It was 9pm. I couldn't believe it! And it was an actual person on the line when I picked up. I can't remember her name but she was empathetic and helpful. Before I knew it she had scheduled a service person to come in the morning between 8 and noon. What a relief! The service person got to my condo around 9:30 just before I had to head to work so I left my credit card info with her and entrusted my roommate to oversee the repairs. By 11am I got a call at work informing me that the AC was up and running again with the repair costing me just over $1500, which included a $300 service plan that I thought made sense and was a good idea for continued maintenance. The promptness of Ideal's response, their ability to get a service person out to see me almost immediately and how quickly they got the AC up and running has made me a fan for life. What could have been a stressful days long issue was fixed without delay. Highly recommend!

I called Cool Zone because they were authorized to perform warranty repairs on my ac system. The tech found that the compressor had failed and needed to be replaced. He confirmed the unit was still under a parts warranty so my cost would be the labor and new freon that was recommended. He quoted $3,300 for 4 hours of labor! Then said if i purchased a maintenance plan that covered 2 visits for both of my units it would be cheaper at just under $3,100. What? That doesn't make sense. You Buy a service plan and pay less ?!! I expect that the "maintenance" is not intended to take care of the units but to give them 2 more opportunities to overcharge for additional services. I was told they would check availability of the compressor and his office would call me the next day. I was charged a $89 diagnostic fee. I told him his office told me the fee would be waived for repairs over $300. It was obvious to me that he had no intention of sharing this policy with me and said he would discount the repair bill after the work was done. I heard nothing more from them. It has been 2 days. After looking into his price I was told by 2 different companies that the quote was at the high end of the range for a unit that was NOT under warranty. I did not share this quote with either of these companies until after they priced the repair. Both told me the same thing and both quotes were competitive. We originally had the company come out to repair a clogged condensate drain line. Just seven days later, our A/C stopped working again and we were told that the capacitor had failed. We understand that these can be separate issues, and we weren't necessarily expecting the company to cover the second repair. However, we were disappointed that we were charged another $95 diagnostic fee only seven days after the initial service. We even asked if they would be willing to apply the $95 diagnostic fee toward their annual maintenance plan as a goodwill gesture, but they would not budge. To be fair, the work itself was done properly. However, if you're looking for a company that is willing to work with you on pricing or show some flexibility when you have a second issue shortly after a repair, this may not be the company for you. Our experience was essentially, "the issues are separate, so there's another charge," with no willingness to meet us halfway. The repair was good, but the customer-service experience and lack of flexibility left us disappointed.
