They said to leave the machine and they'd have the repairman take a look at it. They said it might be up to 2 weeks. But in just a few days they sent me a text/email saying my machine was ready. I picked it up the next day. Not only was the problem fixed but on the bill it said they had cleaned and oiled my machine. The charge the lady had quoted me was what I was charged and they had done the extra work of cleaning and oiling my machine also. Very nice people to do business with. I would recommend them to anyone wanting a repair on their machine. I used my machine just today and it sews like the wonderful machine it has been since I bought it in 1962. When I asked about alterations, she told me they had not offered the service for some time. I mentioned the Yelp listing and suggested updating it, but her response felt dismissive and disrespectful. An outdated listing is frustrating, but the way my concern was handled made the experience worse. Management should update the service information and ensure employees are trained to communicate courteously with customers. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this location.

It was a weekday afternoon. I ended up taking that pair of pants to The Perfect Fit (which I happily recommend, by the way). I did, though, make up my mind to go back to Golden Stitch, bringing a shirt to be taken in. At $25, it was a bit steep, but nothing that'll break the bank. Also had another pair of slacks to be hemmed. Now here's the problem. I was told they'd be done "next week," and I've been trying in vain -- for two weeks now -- to get back the clothes I thought belonged to me. On three separate occasions when I dropped by, the store was closed in the middle of the day. Calling ahead is fruitless; nobody answers the phone. I could yammer on and on about how nice the ladies are and so forth, but the operation struck me as pretty unprofessional. Raising the price of a hem from an already healthy $9 up to $10 doesn't help their case. Taking your clothes to Golden Stitch is, frankly, a risk. If you see a confused young man wandering around the square without pants on, it is probably me killing time until I try to pick them up again.

Five artists and titles have been identified in the project and additional art can be seen including Friendly Beasts' door which is painted, but not identified on the plaque mounted on the street side of the building. The first piece on the west side of the building is a brightly colored piece called "Unity is Community" by C D Culper. There are multiple human figures each only having one eye open. The faces also seem to have a second profile face obscuring half of the face directly looking at the viewer. The next piece is the "Entrance to Paradise" by Haider Ali. The small mural covers a doorway and has a beautiful mountain scenic painted. On the north end of the wall is the huge mural called "Wooden Wall of Life" by Adam Long. This piece stretches over several openings in the wall and is done in mostly blues and greens with images of twisted trees and roots that take on human form. Around to the north side of the building is another large mural with a rainbow of colors forming swirls for a background while additional objects seem to float in front. This is called "Sacred Journey" by Sacred Matthews. On the east side of the building by the parking lot is "Hive Mind" by Laura Brikmanis. It depicts a honeycomb with oversized bees crawling around. The art work is so precise that I am guessing she used a template/stencil to create the perfect geometry of the honeycomb grid and possibly on the bees too. It's a great collection of local talent and a way to check out multiple pieces all in one location. Note: To the north of the building is the Bluetip Billiards building that has a colorful mural of pool balls on the side and front.
