They are always so welcoming and friendly, which is nice after having had bad experiences at other tailors in town. The quality of their work is amazing, I've had $300 pants hemmed by them that end up with stitching looking better than they did new. Their turnaround time is also great, especially when considering the countless other orders that they have to complete. Their pricing is truly unbeatable, since I discovered this place I have been back numerous times because of how affordable it is. From someone who is obsessed with fit of clothing, I cannot recommend this place enough. Truly the best tailor I've found in any city that I've lived.

Megan is not only incredibly talented, she is the most kind, warm, and attentive person. I was really anxious about finding a reputable place to bring my wedding dress for alterations. Thank goodness I listened to my gut and the reviews and went with Blooming Bride Alterations. I could not be more thrilled with how everything came out. After meeting Megan for only a few minutes, I knew I had nothing to worry about. She is so professional, but also feels like a friend almost immediately. She walked me through the timeline and reassured me every step of the way. When it came time to decide on the bustle, she gave me options and was so patient and kind. I don't t have any of my family or bridal party in Indiana, but for every appointment, I never felt like I was going through my dress alteration process alone. I cannot thank Megan enough. Checking around for a tailor in Bloomington, I read glowing reviews about Golden Stitch, and…read morethought I'd give it a try. I drove the couple blocks and the place was closed. It was a weekday afternoon. I ended up taking that pair of pants to The Perfect Fit (which I happily recommend, by the way). I did, though, make up my mind to go back to Golden Stitch, bringing a shirt to be taken in. At $25, it was a bit steep, but nothing that'll break the bank. Also had another pair of slacks to be hemmed. Now here's the problem. I was told they'd be done "next week," and I've been trying in vain -- for two weeks now -- to get back the clothes I thought belonged to me. On three separate occasions when I dropped by, the store was closed in the middle of the day. Calling ahead is fruitless; nobody answers the phone. I could yammer on and on about how nice the ladies are and so forth, but the operation struck me as pretty unprofessional. Raising the price of a hem from an already healthy $9 up to $10 doesn't help their case. Taking your clothes to Golden Stitch is, frankly, a risk. If you see a confused young man wandering around the square without pants on, it is probably me killing time until I try to pick them up again.

I read the other review on here and was a little hesitant going to Klaiber's. I had a very old…read moresewing machine with a broken foot pedal and needed a replacement, and the only compatible pedal I found online cost $90 (!). I called Klaiber's and was told they had used pedals, so I could bring mine in to look for a match. I brought the pedal to them, and they checked around the back for several minutes with no luck. The woman working indicated the owner had many more machines at home and could check for a match there. I left the pedal, and they called a couple of days later saying they weren't able to find anything. However, the owner was able to rig up the original cable to a new pedal. Again fretting because of the other review, I thought this was going to cost me an arm and a leg. Instead, he charged the price of the pedal and nothing for labor, coming in at ~$25 to get my old machine back up and running. On top of that, I asked about a specific part (a hemming foot) for my machine. They have plenty of new ones in stock, but my old machine unfortunately has a different kind of mount not compatible with new parts. The owner must have spent 10 minutes digging around their stock of old/used parts in the back trying to find something for me. He came up empty-handed, but his effort for an obvious long shot (and one that wouldn't have paid very much even if it had worked out) speaks to good customer service. I'm sorry to hear the other reviewer ended up dissatisfied. Based on my own experience, I'll be back to Klaiber's in the future.
