Kenny does great work! I've been coming to his shop for years now and I'm always impressed with the work and the price. Not only is his pricing fair but he tries to save you money where he can. My garage lift recently broke my side mirror but didn't damage the mirror cap. Since the cap needed to be ordered separately and then painted Kenny offered to use my undamaged cap with the new mirror and save me a little money since I was paying out of pocket. He's even gone the extra mile of dropping me off at Bart when I brought my car in. I'd recommend him to anyone who needs body work. I even sent my son to him when he needed some work on his car. You won't be sorry you chose KJ's for your auto body needs! read more

I can not give Kenny enough praise for the way he handled the repair on my 2015 Golf Tdi. There was substantial rear-end damage to my car. Kenny quickly accessed the damaged , looked up the parts and had a fair reAsonable estimate within the hour. He then kindly drove me to my house. Along the way, he was kind, professional and easy going. Kenny explained the process between the shop and the insurance adjuster and gave me a time line for the completion of the repair (6-10 days). True to his word, the work was done in 10 days (this was also over the 4th of July weekend so I was surprized how fast the job was done) I was amazed that the fit and finish was as If the car was brand new. Also, the paint matching was SPOT ON?!?!?! not even a micro-shade of difference.....the dents were corrected and the surface was as smooth as glass....overall an excellent job by Kenny's shop. THEY EVEN DETAILED THE CAR INSIDE AND OUT?!?!?!!? I would give K&J Auto Body TEN STARS IF i COULD. I would DEFINATELY WOULD RECOMMEND THIS SHOP TO ANYONE.. EVEN FOR A SHOW CAR...THANK YOU KENNY FOR A TOP OF THE LINE JOB/ TOP OF THE LINE SERVICE AND KIND WORDS YOU ALWAYS GREATED ME WITH. BY WORD OF MOUTH i WILL SPREAD THE NEWS ABOUT YOUR SHOP....and what a good guy you are....... read more

Kenny is friendly, easy to talk with, not pushy, knows the body repair business thoroughly, but most of all, does quality work at a fair price. I'd use him again. read more

If I could give more stars I would. My car has never looked so shiny and amazing! I was told it would be ready in 10 days and it was ready in 9. The staff is friendly and knowledgable and their quality of work is unbeatable. Go to KJ's. You will not regret it! read more

I've visited several body shops, but none matched the kindness and professionalism of this place. My frustration began two months ago when the paint on the rear side window of my car started peeling off. I looked at other places, but they all quoted outrageous prices. I bought paint online in a similar blue shade to my car to do it myself, but the peeled area was too large, and I couldn't handle it. However, when I visited this place recommended by my friend, the owner of the body shop explained everything so kindly and said they would do it at a low price. Kenny skillfully scraped off the peeled paint and repainted it within three hours. The result was so impressive that I almost questioned if there had ever been peeling paint. I will definitely recommend this body shop to my friends, and whenever there is an issue with my car, I will only come here ! read more

KJ's auto It's the best place to take your car they did a phenomenal job on my Maserati read more

This is the best place to take your car in the bay area. Kenny does a wonderful job with care and concern. I'm very pleased.

Got the lowest quote here after asking at least 7 dealerships. They did a great job on my bumper, a nice paint job and made it really look brand new. They even took my HOV stickers off my damaged bumpers and put it on the new one. It saved me the hassle of getting new ones, thought that was pretty thoughtful. Only thing I thought was weird was the owners daughter in the beginning was telling me to order my own bumper and have it sent to the shop. I wondered why she couldn't just do it but I attempted anyway, but the companies she recommended didn't have the OEM part and we went factory which was fine. It's also a shop that can be difficult to access due to the location. read more

I'm the proud ( relatively new ) owner of a 1973, Porsche 914/6, custom which someone hit and ran. I was really upset about it and worried about finding a shop that specialized in repair and restoration of classic automobiles that would not cost me an arm and a leg. I'm a working guy who happens to enjoy owning a classic sports car so I was really concerned about cost. I decided to try KJ's because of Kenny's reputation... I honestly could not have been happier with this entire transaction from beginning to end. Kenny is the real deal. He's very easy going, highly experienced, gave me a quick tour of all the other amazing classic projects he's working on an put me right at ease. He told me exactly what he was going to do and gave me a fair price - which he stuck to, even though the project took an unanticipated turn that took him more time. Even more amazing, he had my car in and out of the shop in under a week. He even came to pick me up from BART after closing time so I could have my car for the weekend! Who performs this kind of service these days? Honestly, this place is a home run. You won't be sorry. read more

This is the most amazing group of people my car was in a accident I'm a 20 year old college student. My insurance ends up yelling at me treating me like shit and denied my claim. I called the shop and not only did he tell me to calm down he said I'm going to see what I can do, because I am now coming out of pocket. They even called the Insuarance. This place takes care of their customers. As a young black woman often body shops and mechanics try and play us. I never experienced such an honest man and his daughter. I just want to thank him. If you want a honest body shop to make your car look brand new this is the place. This is a family and I hope you guys trust them with you business.... read more

Back in 2006 when some old hag that shouldn't have been driving rear ended me at a stop light... I took my car here. The owner, Kenny, took a while to get my car done b/c he had issues matching the paint. I dropped by to have a look, and couldn't even tell. Kenny has a serious eye for attention to detail. He said he repainted the bumper more than six times b/c it looked different at different times of the day. At dusk, I could sort of see the color not match to the rest of the car. After understanding the level of effort that Kenny had put into my car, I didn't mind Kenny taking his time. Thanks Kenny! read more

Great job! My1965 Mustang looks car-show gorgeous again after a fender bender necessitating replacement of fender and front bumper. I was worried about matching my 5-year old paint job, but it was matched perfectly with smooth straight lines. Couldn't tell there'd been a repair. To my surprise, Kenny, the owner, charged me $550 less than his estimate! I didn't know anybody did that. And they took it immediately and got it back to me in 3 days. They even gave me a lift home when I dropped off the car and picked me up at my home when it was done. Very pleasant people to deal with and excellent results. read more

I can't say enough great things about KJ's! From the moment I walked through the door Kenny and his family made me feel right at home! Kenny and his staff are always friendly and helpful whenever I stop by to check the progress of their work. They did more work in 2 weeks than the previous shop did in 15 months and at half the price! My project is still a work in progress so I will be updating this review with pictures and status reports as we go along, I just had to post now because I couldn't wait to sing Kenny's praises! If you're looking to get a car restored do yourself a favor and check out KJ's! read more

KJs Autobody is truly the best in town! Brought my grandmas car here after someone rear ended her and the staff was 5 star. You can tell that Kenny does not cut corners and wants to give you the best deal and service possible. They were able to fix the car and have it back to us the next day. The new bumper looked great! So great that it looks better than the rest of the car now ha! While I was here, I noticed they also do customer paint jobs. The one they had in progress was a true beauty. I will definitely be back to support this business. Thanks! read more

Great service, great body work and great staff! I wouldn't take my car anywhere else!

INSURANCE FRAUD KJ was paid for work and put my car back together with a crazy glue gun and rubbing alcohol. He used my old front bumper but was paid for a NEW ONE from the insurance company but still couldn't even pay for or put on new clips on the OLD PARTS. SHADY USE KJ's at your own risk you might not get your car back right read more

I brought my Volvo in to KJ's Auto Body with a big old dent on the lower part of the rear quarter panel--a particularly hard part of the car to fix because you can't just replace the body part like a fender. The dent had to be repaired and then the quarter panel had to be re-painted to match the existing paint. When I came to pick up my car two days later, you could never tell the car had ever had a dent. Flawless dent repair and paint job. My car looks new again. Thanks guys!! And their prices were very reasonable. Much less then I had expected. read more

This review is definitely waaaaaay over do but it was imperative I did it regardless. I found KJs here on Yelp. Although I am an avid Yelp researcher before making major decisions, I can't say the same about reviewing my finds. Fortunately KJ made me change my ways with their awesome service and quality work. I have an older car that Ive had since highschool and I absolutely adore for its low maintenance, dependability, and commuter benefits. I was devastated when "Butterfly" was hit by an uninsured jerk and my insurance company insisted on totaling her out. NOOOOOOOO! Unthinkable and nonnegotiable. I bought it back and figured I would get it repaired on my own, but had three major concerns: I know NOTHING about cars, nervous about being taken advantage of because I'm a female, and to the insensitive eye Butterfly may not seem like much but I wanted her treated like she was a Bentley. I asked around and traveled around looking for just right the place. It literally took one year to find the perfect place. I can't say enough about my experience at KJs. Mr. Walker and his family are the sweetest, best family ran business I have EVER came across. From the hilarious little "Prince Cody" who completed my quote and transported me, to Mr. Walker who did a fantastic, thorough job that exceeded my requests and expectations, to sweet Mrs. Walker who is warm and motherly that I didn't even flinch at handing my cash payment over to her without any resentment. I saw the high end work Mr. Walker usually does with custom cars and my car did not require that level of repair as I just wanted her presentable but I felt he put the same level of care and quality in even that. They were reasonable priced, professional, quality, fair, and amazing work. I wouldn't hesitate returning knowing both me and my vehicles are in great hands. THANK YOU THANK YOU WALKER FAMILY YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST! read more

Kenny is simply a magician, and he has a terrific, talented team as well. This is the place to go when you hurt your car.

I have been using Kenny and the gang at KJs since 2009 when I had my 1970 Corvette painted by Kenny. Great work and quick turnaround 5 years later the Vette is still capable of winning car shows. Kenny is a master craftsman second to none! read more

I'm glad to read some good ratings of this place because I tried to get some work done there but gave up! It's located on San Leandro Ave which drivers think is a freeway. It was difficult slowing down to find the address and there's almost no street parking because almost all of the curb for blocks and blcoks is red. There were also no garage spaces in front of KJ's, just cars being serviced I guess. I tried to park momentarily in front of the driveway to the right of KJ's and was quickly shooed away by a worker. I searched for blocks for parking, risking being hit from behind by annoyed drivers. I finally found a space about 1/2 mile away in a really funky area. I sat in the car, said F*ck it! And heading to a nice, clearn and neat car dealer to get my work done. My recommendation for KJ's is to fix the parking problem, let customers know the deal, especially given the very unattractive location. read more

This is, hands down, the best body shop in Oakland. Kenny will make sure your issue is resolved to perfection! I wish more body shops were like KJ's - until they are - this is the place I will always go for honest estimates, and best in class body repair! Kudos to his wife, Lydia, as well! read more

I brought Kenny at KJ's an oddball job involving painting an old steel flat file map case. He did a terrific job and was simply a delight to work with. A fine businessman, craftsperson and plain person. I recommend KJ Auto body unreservedly. read more

Off-the-charts amazing is Kenny and his crew. After a persistent--and clueless--parallel parker applied her rear bumper to the the front end of my beloved 1960 Fiat 500 several times, I was faced with finding a repair resource. An online search surfaced KJs, as well as a few other repair shops, that specialize in vintage autos. The existing Yelp reviews encouraged me to pay KJs a visit. Kenny greeted me at the door with a big smile and warm handshake. Unlike a few other shops I visited--and was refused because of the uniqueness of my Fiat--Kenny did not shy away from the project. In fact, he was excited and eager for the task. His warm demeanor and obvious knowledge made the decision easy. Kenny was incredibly patient as my insurance company worked its slow process. He kept me up to date, via emails and phone calls, along the way. Who does that?! The result is nothing less than showroom quality. His crew even cleaned up the rest of the car and shined up the wheels... not on the repair manifesto--just excellent customer service and care! So impressed with his shop's work, I've recently delivered my vintage fridge for him to work his magic and apply a groovy shade of turquoise. From the jovial office staff to the talented sheetmetal artists, you cannot find a better team! read more

Took our VW Bug into Kjs on a recommendation from a friend. This job was going to be a major job and Kenny accepted to job with no reservations. It took some time and last week we returned to see a beautiful job. The Bug looks better than when it first came out of the showroom. When closing the door it was airtight and the interior looked better than new. One could not ask for a better paint job. If you have a small or large restoration job on your vehicle this is the only place to take your car or whatever you drive. read more
