Ms. Tony and Mike was very friendly in assisting me with the entire process of getting in touch with my insurance, the next steps and the process of getting my car fixed and explain what this and that means when I wasn't sure about xyz car related stuff. Back in May, my son's truck had been hit while parked and the (horrible unnamed San Leandro) body shop I had used in the past would not give me an estimate, as I was not going through insurance. I received a few recommendations and got two estimates. I ended up using Nelson's Body shop at 512 Marina Boulevard. They were great! Did the repair work in a day, matched the paint. Great job. I meant to give a recommendation then and never did. Fast forward to last weekend, I was driving my kids back from my Mom's in Nevada and one of the cable chains broke while driving and hit the inside of my wheel well, causing some damage. I brought the car in on Tuesday, they ordered the part and fixed it on Thursday. Again, excellent work! They even adjusted the fender before I even accepted the estimate, so it was not rubbing on my door. Great value and great work. Unfortunately for me, luck-wise, Nelson's has done quite a bit of work for me over the last 15 years, so I have a good idea as to the quality of their work, and how they treat customers. The first time I found myself needing body work done after moving back to the Bay Area I went to C&J Auto, who is a few blocks away from Nelsons and whom I love and highly recommend, for a body shop recommendation because I trusted their judgement and honesty/frankness. They recommended Nelson's, saying that's to whom they take their personal work. I don't think you can get a better recommendation than that of another auto professional who is honest and who performs high-caliber work. I've taken five cars for work to Nelson's in the last 15 years for collision work and have always been satisfied, both with the accuracy of their time estimates and the quality of their work. Today I picked up my Corvette from Nelson's Body Shop and as usual all worked performed by Mike and his team of highly skilled professionals was superb. I have been taking my cars to Nelson's Body Shop for almost 20 years and I've never been disappointed in any aspect of this business. I have had the following vehicles expertly repaired by Nelson's: 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser; 2003 Toyota Sequoia; 2016 Corvette; 1995 Corvette; 1972 Corvette; 1971 Corvette. On all of my cars, all work was performed to the highest of standards and completed when promised. I no longer own the Toyota Land Cruiser but still own all of the other aforementioned vehicles and they all look as good today as they did the day I picked them up after being repaired by Nelson's. Quality work, attention to detail, honesty, and customer satisfaction and appreciation are obvious priorities of Nelson's Body Shop. I was referrd to Nelson's by a co-worker and i was very pleased with the worh they did. I got into a minor accident, and needed to have my rear bumper and quarter panel fixed. They did a excellent job, and were very straight forward about when the car would be finished. When i went to go pick it up i was suprised to see the cleaned my car too. What's not to like? They did the work when promised, did a beautiful job, and handled all the insurance hassles behind the scenes so that I didn't have to. I took my Prius V here for a rear bumper/light assembly fix paid for by the other party's insurance. Their insurance company tried to cheap their way out and ordered parts that didn't work; Nelson's made sure I got the right parts so that my car looks exactly as it did before the collision. One more thing: when I took my car in for its estimate and asked for advice about how to get a paint scrape off the front fender, Mike grabbed a rag and solvent and took care of it right then, no charge. I appreciate a body shop that does consistently good work, and highly recommend Nelson's. I've taken my car to Nelson's several times over the years for minor accidents. (My rear bumper seems to be a magnet for rear-end collisions.) I've always been happy with the results. They do great work for a reasonable price, and they've always finished the job when expected. Be aware that they don't accept credit cards, so bring your checkbook if they don't receive full payment from the insurance company. read more

I would give more stars, but I am limited to 5! Precise & impeccable work at reasonable prices. I have had work done 3 times with his shop. I have a 2012 Acura TSX and have been sideswiped and he fixed it to showroom condition, and working with Allstate on the claim. I was then rear ended and Nelson's fixed that to showroom condition, and worked with Allstate. I also had him work on the Road Rash that I paid for by myself that was REASONABLE!. He also worked on my 2003 Acura MDX that had front end damage. They are truly a professional shop. I also noticed hot rods in their shop. They also work on old cars. Who does that anymore? It doesn't appear that Nelson's needs another perfect rating - but I can't help myself. I have a highly modified '60's muscle car that I have owned since it was a year old. It's had many comments about how "straight" it is, and since it was re-built 10 years ago, the body is about the only original part currently on the car. I was dismayed when it was damaged by another shop, while in for some special mechanical care. But that shop knows and recommended Nelson's and knew that Mike, the owner, would take great care of it. And indeed Nelson's did. Mike is an earnest and trustworthy owner and made special effort acquire the paint that was needed. Mike made me go from concerned to totally happy and returned my car perfect to the eye. I would trust him and his shop under any circumstances and lucky I was referred to him. They do a lot of "insurance" work and you can rest assured they will restore your car as best as anyone can. read more
