I guess I can now post a review because I've stepped back and am no longer responding in anger. Jimmy is awesome--he's a kind person and, in my opinion, a very skilled mechanic. Unfortunately, the experience in the front office was very different. I brought my car in several times, hoping to build a good relationship, but each time the woman at the front desk was rude to me regardless of how I approached things. I even tried to connect on a personal level by sending books home for her children, but it didn't change the treatment I received. On my third visit, Jimmy actually followed me out to my car to privately apologize for how I had been treated. That meant a lot, but it was also the last time I took my car there. I now go to A&H Auto in Hayward, where I've been treated with respect and have become a very happy, loyal customer. read more

A kitten was stuck somewhere in my car-- not under the hood/motor or anywhere where it could be seen. I took my car to Precision Auto in San Leandro for help. The owner instructed a mechanic to put my car on a lift, remove something under the car, and WOW, there was the kitty stuck inside a covering under the car. They rescued the kitty. I asked how much I owe. This business charged me NOTHING. The owner said he was happy to help. He even provided a box for me to put the kitty in so it could be safely taken home. Horrible experience. They don't keep their promises. I chose them based on a clear commitment to do a quick extra check I needed. The boss later overrode the person who said yes, refused to honor the commitment, lied about how complicated it was, dodged responsibility, got hostile and screamed at me. He and his staff even started name calling and making threats. I am not exaggerating. In the end I did it myself in less than 15 minutes with a 10mm wrench and I'm a gal who knows NOTHING about cars. read more

I had a deeply disturbing experience with the manager at this shop. Not only was he unprofessional, but he also made racist and highly inappropriate jokes about ICE "picking up" an innocent woman which was implying she was undocumented, despite there being no reason to believe so. It was disgusting and completely out of line. On top of that, I have reason to believe they intentionally damaged parts of my car during service in order to create more work and drive up the bill. I brought my car in for a simple issue, and when I got it back, new problems mysteriously appeared issues that were never there before. Nice people but they told me that my suspension was in need of replacement. I got a second and third opinion at different shops and they both said that my suspension was completely fine. They also said that they would only change the entire strut coil assembly not just the struts which would've driven up the price. Grateful I got further opinions on my car before authorizing them to do work my car doesn't need. read more

My cars have been serviced by the shop for the last seven plus years and they keep my car running like a well oiled machine. The owner Jim is very nice and straight to the point as far as price quality and what is being done to your car, he will go above and beyond to make sure you are satisfied with the work. Staff is on point with communication about what is done and what needs to be done if additional work is necessary. Luis is my one and only mechanic, well he actually diagnoses all the vehicles, but at the same time, I usually have him work on my car in particular but they all do an amazing job and I've never had one complaint. as far as work on my car or I've never had to return it for a rework. The value is the going rate for the area in San Leandro, and even if they may be a little more, they're still worth it, I refer my friends and family there and they've never had a complaint. As DIY (Amazon parts type of guy), I was working on my AC system and needed to properly dispose of the freon. Called everywhere and had no luck and finally Kristen came to the rescue at Precision Auto Care. Jimmy not only offered the service, but also provided a fair fee (the guy is a riot!). After making some major repairs on my 98 Ford F150, I came back to get the AC system recharged. Working with Arturo (one of the great mechanics at the shop), turns out I had bad part from Amazon and had to get it replaced. Arturo also pointed out some other items that needed attention (Arturo is da' man! This guy knows his stuff and SUPER friendly and helpful). Jimmy (tone at top helps! Jimmy was very helpful and friendly) was gracious enough not to charge me anything and let me know do a drop in the next day to get my AC serviced. I came in to schedule an appointment to drop off my car for a diagnostic / repair. Made an appointment for a week out. Dropped off the car and was told I'd hear back later that day. A few days pass and I receive a call at 4:40pm on a Friday asking me if I wanted the car for the weekend, I would need to pick up the car in 15-20 minutes. Being at work I couldn't just pick up and leave. So the car sat there until the following Monday morning when I called to see if they would have time to see the car. They said they couldn't tell me, and recommended me to pick up the car take it elsewhere. I wasted 2 weeks and 2 Uber rides. I was asking questions and letting them know the issue with my vehicle and got instantly got cut off with "you have to bring it in" with an irritated tone. Didn't even address the business name or a "hello, how can I help you today?" I was very disappointed with the service here to say the least. I was actually recommended to come here for auto services through a family member so I was really convinced that I will have a great experience. I had to get a whole new transmission on my car. After the work was completed, I had to come back after two or three weeks because my transmission went out again. This time, I believe they put in a completely new transmission perhaps the one before was an old one. I'm not sure, but to this day, that new transmission has been working. I would say that the second issue I had was when I brought my car there with brand new windshield wipers they were Rain-X and I had just bought them from Pep Boys not too long before. I didn't have the receipt which was unfortunate however when I noticed that I had some cheaper looking windshield wipers on my car, I notified them about it. They mentioned that they gave me new windshield wipers as a courtesy and that they do that for all of their customers. I was unhappy with this because they did this without my permission and if they would have asked I would have told them no because the windshield wipers I had on my car were brand new. They were better than the ones they put on. When I came back for my windshield wipers they explained to me that they were thrown away which I believe was a lie. I believe there is a possibility that the person who took them off my car took them, but I have no proof of that. Last but not least I believe the young lady that works in the office seems to be a nice lady and has good customer service skills. She seems to be pretty knowledgeable as well. Worst experience ever. Single women beware that you will be taken advantage of here. Lied about repairs needed. Said I needed front brakes and rotors replaced and it was down to nothing and very dangerous to drive. Nope! ...got a second opinion and I did not need that. Other numerous repairs recommended were also deemed completely unnecessary by a separate auto shop. This added up to over a Thousand dollars of repairs. In addition, they wasted hours of my time trying to fix problems they created: When I drove my car off the lot it didn't run right. It loudly chugged and choked... ...This was a routine, hundred thousand mile, check up. They hadn't test driven the car after the maintenance and apparently they put in a faulty spark plug. So I had to immediately return to the auto repair shop to have them troubleshoot what they did wrong. This took An additional hour. They also replaced my tail light but in the process they also broke my tail light and haven't paid to replace it. So now my car is in worse shape then when I brought it into their shop. All their errors also added up to me being there for an additional 2 hours. Very weird and unpleasant experience with the owner. I gave him an opportunity to make it right and he was really weird about it and acted mad and I felt uncomfortable. read more

They were very fast, just took a couple of days, and MUCH less expensive than the two other places we checked for the same repairs. The battery wasn't dead yet, but they called and ASKED if we wanted them to replace it as it was long past warranty.
