Kiyomi Roll - Assorted sushi rolls, gyoza, and dipping sauces are arranged on black and white plates at a Japanese restaurant table.

Kiyomi roll is AMAZING!! Prices are very reasonable. A lot of options to choose from. The service is usually pretty decent as well.

Kiyomi is difficult to rate. It's a 4 star for a Japanese restaurant in a small town. It's a 3 star when you compare it to a traditional Japanese place. So...for my experience...I give it 3 stars. The facility is nicely put together for a lake restaurant. The tables and chairs are comfortable. The decor is simple...not like you'd expect for a traditional Japanese restaurant. The place is clean. The wait staff was attentive though not very friendly. They just seemed to execute the meal...which they did with a decent speed. We started with the soup and salad that comes with the meal - good value! Soup is soup. The salad dressing didn't have much zing to the taste to make it memorable. We also had the Gyoza and fried vegetables. The Gyoza was good but perhaps over crisped. The fried vegetables were nice. The tempura was just right. The dipping sauce was nothing special. For dinner we had the chicken and New York strip hibachi and a chicken Benito box. The meals really lacked taste. No special taste, flavor or experience. Nothing was done poorly....it's just that nothing was memorable. I would recommend trying this place if you are looking for an alternative meal choice while at the lake.

We stopped in here on a Saturday afternoon, sometime around 1:00. We were told we could sit where we wanted and then a little boy brought us our menus. Then another woman(older who didn't speak English came to the table I think to get drunk orders but I asked her a question about the menu and she ran off to the back), then another woman (younger who speaks English) came and took our drink order (I think it's her and her husband that own this place). She answered any questions I had then took out order. One other family was there (also from Warsaw) and I think they were the reason it took us about 20 minutes or more to get our food (they ordered a huge "sushi boat that contains 5 or 6 different types of rolls-of your choosing, and the man in the back was the only one doing the sushi and cooking.) I ordered the Crab Rangoon and it came with 6 of them. Very good, little on the sweet side. I also ordered the bento box with teriaki beef and shrimp and veg tempura(the veggies were mushroom, sweet potatoe slice, broccoli and zucchini I think) and was pleasantly surprised at how tender the beef was- it was a good cut of meat, no fat or grizzle, and came on a bed of steamed vegetables. Their teriyaki sauce is homemade, not the real bold flavor you get from a bottle so it didn't overpower your taste buds. My meal also came with a salad with a delicious creamy ginger dressing and is probably also homemade. It also came with a lovely sweet orange segment. Husband got the Chicken Fried Rice and he said it was definitely better than the rice you get at the Japanese place here in Warsaw. I had leftovers that gave me two more meals even! This is definitely family owned and worth the trip to Syracuse to support. (Wish they would move it here to Warsaw!)

We moved to the area from Chicago and working our way to visiting all the locally owned restaurants in the area. Kiyomi is a secret gem. We didn't think we'd find good sushi in a small Indiana town but we did. We had seaweed salad, sashimi and a few rolls and it was all delicious!! The fish was very fresh and the pieces were very nicely portioned. The waitstaff was a bit slow and not attentive but that won't stop us from visiting Kiyomi again and again!

The Lakeside is a casual yet upscale restaurant that clearly caters to the local lake people. Beautiful restaurant and decor. Servers were friendly, not out of your way friendly (but again it was busy). Our table ordered drinks which took awhile to receive. Ordered appetizers, salads and entrees at the same time seeing that they were slow. The shareable salad never made it to the table, this was unfortunate, we were hungry and looking forward to it, but asked them to take it off our order since the entrees were delivered instead. We had gnocchi with shrimp, the gnocchi was light and melt in your mouth delicious, the shrimp were juicy, grilled lightly, and seasoned well. The menu mentioned vodka sauce, the sauce that shared the plate was by itself complex, rich and at the same time very light. We also chose the BiBamBop which had all the flavors of Korea, crunchy with veggies, beef sliced thin, rice, the flavors kept coming. We were well attended to by our waitress who made great recommendations, thank you very much. The ambiance was full of people enjoying their meals. We look forward to another wonderful meal at The Lakeside.

I was the only one in our party who had not been to this place before and, in the end, the only person who wasn't crazy about the food here. As with most hibachi places, the entertainment factor was A+ and the service was good, but the food was mid. Beth, our waitress, was attentive. Our group of 9 all ordered a variety of hibachi. I chose chicken hibachi which came with miso soup, ginger salad, and grilled shrimp with a egg yolk sauce. The others in my party were obsessed with the egg yolk sauce way more than I was. There was just way too much food and honestly, it was all a bit bland. You get lots of food here, that's for sure, especially of rice. I would have liked more vegetables to diversify the meal. As for the starters, the miso was actually one of the best I have had but the ginger dressing was a weird color and the shrimp dish was not my fave. I ate the leftovers of my hibachi for lunch the next day and it heat up well but I noticed that not all the rice was cooked in the end. I ate it all anyway, of course. Apparently, this is the best hibachi place in the area so maybe I am just picky. Try it out - maybe you're fine with lots of food that isn't too flavorful that has way too much butter and oil.

This place is what happens when WASP republicans who have never left their hometown, make their version of sushi. If sushi were a color this sushi would be a tasteful beige. It was nearly tasteless. The steamed shrimp were from frozen with not even a sprinkle of salt added. The roll was loose and barely held together and it made me sad. The poke bowls were below fast food quality on the coast. Unremarkable, yet expensive. However, with all that said, the ambiance was nice (if you are white), the drinks were the saving grace, and from looking around, it looked like the front side of the menu (salads, fried chicken, and other WASP staples) looked good as we watched the food go by. I wouldn't not recommend this place given the area, but we absolutely paid around $150 and drove directly to McDonalds after.
